Using another Cure spell Locky brings Jerrard back to conciousness, "We are outnumbered.. Jeremy, we need to take them hand to hand. Imani needs help."

Fikod comes-to gradually as Paladine's healing energies flow through Locky into the downed dwarf. His eyes flutter open but he does not move or make any other sign of his return to consciousness for now lest he draw another wave of bolts and suffer a fatal volley. His instincts to stay down keep him immobile, but his mind slowly begins to fire again, taking stock of the situation and possible solutions.

Imani looks between the two remaining dwarves and decides to target the male first. The female comes at her first, however, swinging her axe. Imani manages to block the blow by crossing her swords together, then using the momentum of the blow to knock the axe out of the dwarf's hands. The desert princess then engages the male, but she finds her scimitars less than effective against the banded mail the dwarves wear.

As the male blocks everything she throws at him, a bolt flies by her head, serving as a warning that a few of the others are now targeting her. The next bolt hits her squarely in the shoulder, forcing her back a step. This gives the male she is fighting the opening he is waiting for, and he slashes upward at her with his axe, cutting into her deeply. The Armor spell Jerrard had cast upon her shatters, unable to sustain any further damage.

Locky prays again for Paladine's aid, and floods his healing power into Jerrard's battered body. The mage comes to, dazed and exhausted; all of his remaining spells wiped from his mind. The kender tries to explain the situation to him the best she can. Several dwarves take pot shots at her, but her enchanted chain mail seems to make her all but impervious to them. Meanwhile, Fikod remains still, playing dead so nobody else shoots at him.

Finally, Jeremy fires a pair of arrows at his opponent. One of them hits her in the chest, and she goes down like a sack of potatoes. "Shara!" cries the one nearest to her. "You'll pay fer that, human!" she snarls, and fires a bullseye right at Jeremy. The bolt impacts on his chest, his armor only slowing it down a hair. He nearly falls backward, but manages to catch himself at the last second.

Jeremy fires a flight arrow from his short bow at Daergar 12 (1d20): 14, hit for (1d6): 4 damage. Daergar 12 falls.
Daergar 08 fires her light crossbow at Imani who is wearing leather armor (+2) (1d20+2): 6, miss.
Daergar 05 fires his light crossbow at Locky (1d20): 17, miss.

Imani winces in pain as the axe cuts through her, but she continues with her attack on the male dwarf all the same. ~Work through the pain,~ she thinks to herself.

Fikod lays next to Jerrard, continuing to play dead. He checks to see that every muscle and all of his limbs are in functioning order while forming a plan.

Locky charges at the dwarf who dropped her axe. Several bolts fly at her in the process, but only one hits and actually manages to penetrate her armor enough to sting. It does not, however, slow her down. She nearly impales her victim with her hoopak's spear, wounding her severely--but not killing her. Bleeding profusely, the dwarf picks up her fallen axe and prepares to engage the kender, outraged that such a lesser creature inflicted such pain upon her.

Imani dodges and deflects several bolts in an amazing feat of dexterity. However, she finds she still cannot breach her opponent's defenses. The dwarf, however, can breach hers. While the dwarves are lousy shots, they are quite skilled with axes in melee. He slashes at her, cutting her severely and spilling her blood on the grass. She won't be able to survive another hit like that, no matter how much pain she works through.

Ulster and Thuskar charge through the brush, skidding to a halt near the mouth of the depression to take in everything. They spot Jerrard and Fikod, both lying on the ground and Locky and Imani (and soon Jeremy) fighting for their lives in melee. "Don't worry, cavalry's here!" Ulster calls.

"We're on foot, actually," Thuskar points out, cocking his crossbow.

"Okay, so we're not literally cavalry," Ulster consents, readying his bow. "Whatever, we can talk semantics later!"

Jeremy puts his bow away and draws his short sword, moving toward the melee Imani and now Locky is embroiled in, dodging a single bolt fired by the female trying to avenge her fallen friend.

Sensing a change in the flow of battle, Fikod waits until the Daergar have launched their latest volley then pulls himself to his feet with a monumental act of will. He starts to move, loping lowly toward the main melee, body moving though thoughts blanked through the chorus of pain screaming from the embedded bolts. He sends two daggers at Daergar 4, the familiar motion flowing from his muscles with almost no conscious thought.

(He intends to be last this round, but I rolled init just in case I'm missing some rule)

Init 6, Hit AC 8 for 2 damage, Hit AC-2 for 3 damage

Laying on the ground Jerrard manages to raise his head as subtly as he can, looking at the Fallen Kirath he makes a choice, the Elf needed help...

Moving awkwardly he slides down the depression, making it look as if he fell, then lays very still.

Despite the fact that Imani looks like she will topple over any second, she stands her ground with the dwarf.

I spent two hours on this post, and just before I was about to submit it (I was in the process of reading over it for typos), my browser crashed and I lost EVERYTHING.

Sorry, I'm going to just have to give you a brief recap instead. I am NOT doing that all over again. ;_;

Jerrard climbed down to the bottom of the depression.
Locky attacked and missed. She got shot, twice, suffering 12 damage total.
Jeremy did 3 damage against Daergar 4 and avoided 2 bolts.
Fikod's first dagger missed, but the second hit for 3 damage.
Ulster and Thuskar missed every single shot they made.
Imani got hit by Daergar 03 for 3 damage, taking her down to 2 HP. Amazingly, she killed him, avoided three or four bolts, and then finished off Daergar 04, as well (killing her by decapitation).

In my summary, I pointed out that Imani's attacks were technically too weak, but she managed to kill them anyway, suggesting there is some hidden power in that scimitar she picked up in the ghoul lair.
