"I think we should let them live" Ouragana voices. "For ethical reasons, like Jocelyn says, but also because they are hostages. Their tribe may choose not to attack us if this would mean the death of their druid. Then of course, there are peoples who think that whoever is weak enough to get captured deserves death, so this might not work."
Once again, Ouragana turns to the tribal druid. Looking her in the face, she extends the waterskin some way towards her, speaking "water" clearly once again. When the woman turns toward the water, she pulls it away again, pronouncing the word "water" very clearly. Hopefully, she is somehow able to convey that she wants the woman to repeat the word, then will reward her with a drink.

The druid again stares at Ouragana for several seconds. She swallows audibly, then speaks. "Mbona upande na vile viumbe hawa? Mbona kukana urithi wako utukufu? Je, wao utumwani wewe?" she asks suspiciously. Then, her expression changes to one of sudden understanding, followed by pity. "Usiogope, mungu wetu watakula nafsi zao na mtakuwa huru tena."

"Yes, we should let them live." Arei says simply "I am going to take a little look around." She suggests, moving behind the tent, the woman didnt like her, and she was still feeling foolish.

"Just give her the water," Jocelyn says with a sigh. "We aren't going to understand her, and she isn't going to understand us."

"Well, at least you got her talking," Grey says.
"It's a pity. There is a spell that will translate any language spoken, but it is beyond my ability, I'm afraid," Dalaim admits.

Relieved that at least she got a reaction from the druid, Ouragana sits down next to her and helps her sit up despite her bonds. She then once again says "water" and puts the waterskin to the woman's mouth to let her drink. She knows the druid must be intelligent and wise, hopefully she on her part will try to find some common ground for communication.

The woman quickly downs a pint of the water, obviously quite thirsty. After the mage pulls the skin away (lest she drains the whole thing), she takes a moment to catch her breath. "Maji," she says.

Arei moves to the trees behind the southernmost tent, moving quietly she draws her blade and rests against a tree.

Ouragana smiles. "Maji?" she asks, shaking the waterskin.

"Maji," the woman repeats. "Maji."

Ouragana tries the next step. She points at herself and says "Ouragana", then at the woman, her head tilted sideways with an enquiring look.

"Maua," the woman says after a pause.
While this goes on, Grey turns his attention to the potions they acquired. "Anyone want to call dibs, or how should we split these up?"

"She probably said thanks after she drank the water," Jocelyn says as she joins the mage and druid. "Jocelyn," she says, pointing to herself.

The woman looks up at Jocelyn, then back to Ouragana. "Utafanya nini na mimi?" she asks.

"I rather think she said her name" Ouragana says to Jocelyn, then to confirm it, she points at the druid and asks "Maua?"
She wishes the druid would try to use simpler sentences. Then a thought occurs to her. She asks the group "Would it be okay to untie the woman's hands? I know that gives her the possibility to cast spells, but we have to try to build trust and communicate. Gestures can be an important part of this."
