Act 1, Scene 1: "Through the Undergrowth" (Main Game Thread)

"Nisser? They are green, Ugly and have a dislike of my arrows." She gives that toothy grin and allows him to get close to Dran, holding his fur by the scruff her claws retracted. "He likes a scratch behind the ears."

[Nocturno]

Feeling out of his element Nocturno will quietly take the rear guard.

[ausie]

Garroth nods, agreeing that this was a good diverse group, and thankful for Signa's words. While it was logical that no Minotaur would ever be able to pretend to be a Elven son without having grown up with acceptance in that community, a verifying voice was welcome.

"This is my friend Thoreau, a young Elven Cat" Garroth announces, he has been with me a little while, and I would introduce them to ensure that he and Dran know each other and get along."

Garroth picks Thoreau up from his shoulders and drops him on the ground in front of the young wolf..

Nisser is the Feliz word for goblin, Signa explains. Katten holds Dran in place as Linar approaches cautiously. Dran sniffs the dark elf's hand, but trusts his mother's lead and tentatively allows the cleric to pet him.

Garroth introduces the tiny feline curled around his collar as Thoreau, and plops him to the ground. Dran pulls himself free of the Feliz and bolts towards the elven cat! Dran stops just short as Thoreau rears back and waves his paws at the wolf pup. Dran's tail wags playfully, and the young pup hops side to side, trying to get the cat to play or run. Thoreau does not seem to be enjoying the experience and backs between the Minotaur's feet, trying to get away.

Signa, Katten, Dran and Garroth all suddenly sense something approaching from the East. A young elven man steps into the clearing, wearing traveler's garb and carrying a silver-shod staff. Hello, The older elf says.


[Garroth recognizes Vanidur Colfinar. Everyone welcome Sol!]

[ausie]

"Vani! Welcome! Friends, this is Vanidur, he and I studied together at the tower... Yes.... I am a mage and a guide..."

Garroth smiles as squeezes his friend hand in a handshake.

[Jenara]

"Play nice." Katten warns the Wolf Pup, her ears picking up as she turns her body to face the newcomer, both hands ready to draw her bow she relaxes as yet another Elf appears. Raising a hand in greeting the claws retract slightly as she paces impatiently, her grey tail twitches repeatedly as she lets out a long sigh.

"We ready?" Standing just off 4 foot tall she is dwarfed not only by the rest of the group, but the massive longbow she wears strung over her back, her clawed fingers play with the fur of a young wolf cub who seems intent on either chasing or eating Thoreau.

"Greetings all! Sorry for the delay- I heard your voices and thought caution would be best. The welcome of singing bow would have spoiled the day! Garroth, you look well; glad to be a part of this venture and see a familiar face. You'll have to catch me up on your adventures. You'll be happy to know I've added a few more illusions to my book- hopefully they prove to be just the thing needed!"

The elf will look over the group, "This is quite an ensemble... Surely stories worth the telling to bring us all together. If fortune favors us maybe there will be stories for others to hear."

The elf will plant his staff before him as a rest.

OOC: Hey all, tried to pick an avatar that best looks like Van. I do most of my PBP on my phone. Please forgive the occasional typo and lack of colored text. I try to keep it simple.

Linar nods a greeting to Van still stays at the back.

[OoC: OMG try 3... lol I keep hitting the refresh button somehow.]

Seeing another Elf puts Nocturno at a bit more ease.

He will remain quiet until talk turns to hunting the goblins, to which he will chime in, and make sure the plans lean to helping Misan.

When Katten asks if we are ready:

"I'll bring up the rear, so my clinking armour will not spoil any surprise we might be able to gain."

"I have the advantage of enhanced Scent, so I will take point..." Garroth says.

[Jenara]

Katten stops for a brief moment, she had already moved herself to that postion with Dran.

"You Cast spells?" She asks in Broken common.."This my forest, my home, I lead, you lead others, make sure they be quiet. Dran has good nose." Giving a toothy grin she draws a dagger and prepares to move forwards..

(Ausie, she has -6 to surprise and pretty decent MS and HinS, it's what she is here for)

"I'll walk with you.... I might be able to distract any foe in our way. Linar, join us- I fear I am at a disadvantage when it concerns the ways of your people. To see the symbol of Corellon upon you eases my spirit... how came you to our realm?"

Van will have an almost academic interest and curiosity when talking to the drow.

Signa watches the assembled group for a time. Seeing that they have apparently come to some acceptance of each other's company, he speaks again. I must go now. Naturally it is up to you as a group how to proceed, but Nocturno and Katten have already gathered the exact location of the outpost. In addition, we are very close to her area of Guardianship. Her advice in this endeavour will be invaluable. I had thought one more was coming to join us, but perhaps he will meet you along the way. With that the elven figure nods to the group as a whole, ands moves silently into the woods; even the superior hearing of the Feliz does not detect his step. Dran finally leaves off his play, trotting back over to the catlike ranger.
