Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
Baeros looks at the man's face. "Hello, how is the water? I bet it nice, especially with this storm coming..." he says casually and enters the water. "Ahhh... this is nice. I need some rest and cleansing after the journey we had at the jungle..."

Jocelyn Blaine
The hot water helps in relaxing Jocelyn's sore muscles.
The halfling looks at her for a moment, then speaks again. "So, uh...hey, just wondering, but you aren't contagious or anything, right?" Jocelyn realizes that she is looking at the large red welts on the cleric's skin from where the giant insects had bitten her. They do somewhat make her look like she's diseased.
Ouragana Stormbride
Casting a spell of magical detection, Ouragana scans the entire room. Aside from the door lock, the only other thing in her room that registers is a light aura on her chamberpot. Looking outside, she spots several weak auras on different people hurrying through the rain. Whether they are from magical items or some sort of enchantments isn't clear.
Baeros Axewielder
Baeros sits in the water and the effect is almost instantaneous. The hot water washes away the filth and grime and relaxes his sore muscles considerably. The two dogs stand near by, the pup sniffing at the water curiously.
The man raises his brow. "You walked through the jungle?" He notices the large red welt on Baeros' skin. "Looks like a stirge got you," he comments.

Jocelyn loses the Ripe trait (-1 reaction) and gains the Fresh and Clean trait (+1 reaction) for 12 hours.
Ouragana casts Detect Magic and has a 40% chance to read specific magical auras (1d100): 58, fail.

Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
"No, these are bites from really big bugs," Jocelyn explains. "We just arrived here, and we had to walk through the jungle to get here."
Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
Ouragana nods to herself. ~Magic put to everyday good use. Looks that this would be a good place for me... we'll see.~
She walks over to her backpack and takes out the journal of the dead elven woman (is her spell still active, and does it have an aura?). She puts it into one of her shawls, then goes down to the lobby and asks the receptionist: "Do you know where the Baequirae family live? I have found something on the road that belongs to them."

"Stirge? Naaaa... those bastards didn't touch me, but they had killed my horse and almost few other people in the company..." Baeros immediately fills with sorrow as Thunder's horrible death returns to his mind. After a minute, as Baeros realizes he didn't complete his answer, he replies, "These marks are from an ettercap bite." Baeros looks with expectation to see the man's reaction. "You seem familiar with the woods, did you pass through the jungle yourself?"
Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
Val takes a seat at the bar after looking around. "Ale and Fish." and adds after a pause 'Please."

The halfling laughs, then abruptly stops. "Wait, you're serious? That must have been some trip! You'd never get me into some crazy jungle, I travel everywhere by ship."
Ouragana Stormbride
The woman's journal displays no magical aura whatsoever.
Leaving her backpack behind in her room, she takes the journal downstairs and speaks to the receptionist.
"Baequirae? Not familiar with the name. Then again, there are over ten thousand people living in this city. Are they someone important?" the receptionist asks.
Baeros Axewielder
"Nay," the man says slowly, absently rubbing his hands. "But I saw plenty of jungle back home on Mond. Wild, untamed place. Never seen one, but heard of ettercaps. Heard they were so poisonous, that a single bite can kill a man."
Val Urgan
Val sits down at the bar between a male human and a female elf and is quickly brought a plate of fried tropical fish and a frosty mug of ale.

Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
"Do you?" Jocelyn asks, suddenly interested in the halfling. "What ship?" she asks.
Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
"I don't know if the family is or was important" Ouragana tells the receptionist. "But one woman apparently owned a jewellery store independent of the guild."
There's more to me than meets the eye...

"I came here on the Dark Spriggan, a small elven merchant ship that makes runs between here, Mond and Vaneil," she says. "Nothing all that exciting, but a job's a job, right? At least until something better comes along."
Ouragana Stormbride, Reception Area, Queen of Harts Inn 1F
The receptionist takes a moment to think. "Well, there are only two jewelers in the city; one on the north side and one here on the south side. Both are owned by the Guild, I think. But the south side one was only recently bought out by them a short while ago."

Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
"Do you ever run into any pirates?" Jocelyn asks. "Or, have you ran into a ship called the Bullring, recently?"
Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
"That might be the one I am looking for" Ouragana nods. "Could you describe me how to get there?"
After the answer to that, Ouragana has another question. "I see that there is a lot of magic used around town to make life more comfortable. Surely there are shops where one can buy magical devices and services in town, then?"

"Pirates? Not really," the halfling says. "The Blue Lightning tends to keep this area safe from them. But the Bullring? Sure, have you ever seen it? Biggest ship in the Guild, they say. Maybe even the world! It's like a big village. I saw it once or twice from the docks. I wish I could serve on a vessel like that! Too bad it's owned by stuffy Guild dwarves."
Ouragana Stormbride, Reception Area, Queen of Harts Inn 1F
The receptionist gives Ouragana directions to reach the jewelry shop in question. "Oh, well if magic is your interest, you'll want to talk to the Thundergulls. They are the local magic guild and any magical transactions go through them." The receptionist gives instructions to reach their headquarters, as well.

"I've been on the ship," Jocelyn admits. "Served on the crew with the Bullring sisters, and they aren't as stuffy as you are lead to believe. You wouldn't by chance know where they are now, would you?"
Re: CH. 10 - Queen of Harts
Val makes quick work of both the fish and ale. Towards the end she comments to no one in particular. "That was excellent.I'll have another." as she sets her mug on the rail.
