The Only Way to Fly

Ulster nods, but doesn't say anything.

What do you both think? And I know you are going to say something like 'We'll go wherever you want us to..' but you are more than that, I appreciate your thoughts."

"Well, assuming it works like they said it does, we could reach Palanthas in just under a day. I had figured it'd take us months to get there," Thuskar says.

"Unless it crashes again," points out Ulster.

"We'll help, and you'd drop us off anywhere? Palanthas?"

"Palanthas? Sure, that's not too far out of our way," Sunni says.

"Oh one thought, what does this flywheel look like?"

"Well, it's made of steel and is round. We use it to store rotational energy," she explains.

"We'll help."

"Excellent! I can show you a map with the coordinates of where we believed the flywheel landed."

[Jerrard]

"Do we have a choice?" Jerrard comments to the two warriors, "We can't handle more traveling like this." He sighs, "We should have stayed.. I hated Leaving I see them every night.. yet another face to curse me."

"Lets go and see what is going on." He forces a smile, "Quicker we help, the quicker we get there.."

[Jenara]

"Well that's a start." Locky giggles, "How big is it? So we know we know if we can carry it."

While everyone is talking about the wheel that they need to find, Imani takes a few moments to look over the map so that they know where to find it.

Babushka is quite oblivious to what the rest of the group are doing or saying. She's happily chatting away with the gnomes, asking them questions about how the device and its parts work. she's probably more of a nuisance than a help, since her only experience with machinery is with her family's textile machines, and it's quite outdated. But just to be able to speak her native tongue again is strangely revigorating...

"How big is it? So we know we know if we can carry it."

"It's about 60 centimeters across and weighs about 100 kilograms," Sunni states.

Imani looks over the map, and it seems the area where the gnomes believe the flywheel landed isn't very far; maybe a couple of hours by foot.

Malika stands with Locky and Jerrard, and looks over at Babushka. "I haven't seen her that cheerful ever before," she comments to the kender and mage. "She seems much happier with her own people, doesn't she?"

Fikod steps in. "Well, if we're going to do this, someone will have to stay to watch the horses. I'll do that. That way I can keep an eye on these gnomes, so they don't blow anything up, either. Someone wanna volunteer to help me out?" he asks.

[Jenara]

"That's quite heavy!" Locky exclaims, her attention partially on Babuskha. "We should be able move it tho."

[Jerrard]

"Indeed My Dear, I have only seen her that happy a few times, not at all of late." He sighs. "Will you come with us or stay with Fikod. I frankly would prefer you to come along. Perhaps you can help, ogres are affected by your skills are they not?"

[HorizonsDream]

"Thuskar, would you mind staying behind to help Fikod?" Imani says as she looks up from the map.

[Jenara]

Locky wanders over to Ulster, skipping along, "We need you to come along, see we need a big strong man to carry the part thing." She nudges up to him, before heading over Babuskha. "We are going to help."

[Breila]

It takes Babushka a moment to realise Locky is there, in fact one of the gnomes she is talking to must point out the kender to her.
"Oh, yes, sorry. Yes, I'm coming" she says and turns to rejoin the group. "Mrshwazzetspaterwaita" she says to the gnomes, looking back over her shoulder.

"I'll stay then," Thuskar volunteers.

He and Fikod start tying off the animals and removing their saddles and gear, so they can rest.

"The rest of us should start moving," Imani says.

Locky, Jerrard, Babushka, Imani, Ulster and Malika set out then, leaving the animals behind with Fikod and Thuskar.

Following the coordinates the gnomes gave them, the party makes their way to the area that the gnomes believe the flywheel landed at. It takes a couple of hours to get there.

The party finds themselves in a fairly level plain with mountains to the north. In the center of the plain is a small crater, a good indication that they are on the right track.
