"Looking for prints was my first idea, Jocelyn" Ouragana explains somewhat impaitently. "But we can't do that before dawn, because any lighting would tell all the neighbours that there are curfew violators around, so they might call the wardens and we cannot accomplish anything. But since Val and Arei insist on doing something now, checking on our prime suspects was the best idea I had. I am open to better ones, though."

"Let's just get out there and do it then." Arei responds, "Let's not argue and just... Do it." With that she moves towards the back door, not looking to see if the others follow.

Jocelyn lets out a sigh. "We don't need light to find prints," she points out, motioning over the elf that is leaving and Val. "They can see just fine in the dark."

"But you and I can't make sense of them" Ouragana points out. "OK then, let's accompany them looking for clues, shall we?"

Arei slips outside, hiding in the shadows, looking to see if anyone is outside.

Jocelyn follows Arelion out of the inn at this point.

Outside, Areilon doesn't see anyone around at the moment; the coast appears clear. She quickly disappears into the shadows on her own, so that by the time Jocelyn follows her out, the cleric is unable to find her at all.

==========

(OOC: The jeweler and the clockmaker are about three blocks away from each other, and both are north of the inn. I'll roll random encounters to see if any warden patrols happen by or not.)

Grabbing the Cleric by the arm Arei ushers her into the shadows, "We are trying to stay out of sight.. So we check the windows outside?"

Ouragana follows Jocelyn and lets herself be guided by Arei's voice. "Jocelyn suggested you night-sighted girls look for traces of the spiders first and follow them backwards" she says just as quietly. "We night-blind humans should listen for anyone approaching. You pull us along when you move" she suggests.

"That works for me." Arei says, waiting on Val, "You need to be quiet, and stick to the shadows, I will look closely."

Val carries the contraption outside, intending to confront their two prime suspects. "Quickly and quietly, and avoid the watch, we cannot afford to be delayed."

sorry, been busy, farming season has begun....

The four creep north a block, toward the clockmaker's shop (which is the closer of the two, the jeweler's is further north). The town is eerie at this hour. Normally the street lamps would have been lit long ago, but they remain dark. As the wardens are all dwarves, they have no need for lights and nobody else is supposed to be on the street now.

What little moonlight helps the humans see where they are going, but they rely heavily on the elf and half-orc, who both can see in the dark.

Frisno's shop is a simple one story building just across the street from the smithy's. When Ouragana and Val were last here, they could hear the audible sounds of hammer against anvil coming from the smithy. Now, everything is quiet. The clockmaker's shop is dark within; no light emerges from the windows.

Hubert's place is further down the street, past the Barnacle Inn. So far, no sign of any warden patrols.

(Has Arei found any trace of the spiders in front of the inn or on the inn wall below their window?)
