Tas prompts them. "If we rest now, we might loose the chance to meet our friends." He looks to the side. "The cousins who are not cousins. Of course." He looks at Flint warmly. "Think they will be cousins if they are nice. What if they had a bath? A reealy good one?"

"Depends," Magpie says in answer to Laurana's question. She points to the roaring river down the street. "Fast way, cross that. Very dangerous. Water move fast. Not take long." She points southward. "But if follow river, find safer place to cross. Take longer. And masters might find. Take us close to dragon. More masters there."

Goldmoon looks the group over. Is anyone shivering from the cold and wet, or do they all look fit to go on?

"I suppose the question is, are we all fit to move?" Sturm asks, looking at the group in the same way as Goldmoon. "Rastlin, are you fit to move?" He glances at Laurana, not vocalising his thoughts.

"What do you think Tanis? I am fit to move." He asks offering Goldmoon an arm if needed.

With a sideways glance at Riverwind, Goldmoon shakes her head at the knight's offer. "Thank you, Knight Sturm, I'm fine."

"No point in drying off just to go wading afterwards." Caramon says as he watches the water flowing by.... "Without heat we would be better off to keep moving anyways."

"Agreed, moving will keep the blood flowing."

Riverwind takes his cloak off and wrings it out as best as he can before giving it a shake. He wraps it around Goldmoon to ward off a little bit of the chill.

"It seems we have a majority then," Tanis says. "In that case, the question is which of the two paths that Magpie mentioned do we take?"

"We should at least check the short way. We want to avoid those Draco creatures correct? Then we should try to short way." Laurana answers, pulling close to Tanis.

"Magpie, can you show us the Short way, over the river, and how you cross it. Please?"

"I do not wish to run away from anyone." Sturm comments as the group considers the options. "We are not ready to face the Dragon, yet to waste our lives making a foolish crossing." He ponders the idea, "Yes, show us the way little one, and we will consider it."

"Thank you my dear" Goldmoon says as she accepts Riverwind's cloak, briefly resting her hand on his.

Then she nods to indicate she's ready to follow the group.

"Agreed Sturm, but it is worth a look given the language barrier. Best we see with our own eyes."

"This way," Magpie says, leading on.

The catastrophe known as the Cataclysm has marred once beautiful buildings. Moss-covered rubble hides the carefully laid cobblestones of the street. Rushing through the rubble and cobblestones, an icy river surges northwest. There the street ends abruptly in a chasm: mist billows from the hole, and falling water crashes somewhere far below.

"Dangerous to cross here," she adds, rather unnecessarily.

Goldmoon draws back from the chasm and takes Riverwind's arm.

"Yes, yes it is. How would you cross? Do you cross here?" Laurana asks, watching the water with a concerned look.
