Okay, well...this game has been up for almost a month now, and it's been nearly a week since Gaia was supposed to return from her trip. I see that she logged the day she returned (the 11th), but not since then.

So, I'm afraid that I'm going to move things forward tomorrow, regardless if she's posted by then or not.

I have to agree, we can't wait forever can we. I hope she will arrive soon.

Yes, she must accept that Salwen is NPC'd if she doesn't show up. I will write her an e-mail to this, and ask Luna to tell her when they meet tonight.

Okay, so I'm going to visit my sister for Thanksgiving tomorrow, and won't return until Tuesday. I'll try and pop in when I can to keep the game going. Hopefully Gaia shows up at some point. Until then!

Ok,

Jerrard had a heart attack, as you might know, I will be posting for him, just for a while.

I spoke with Gaia yesterday, her schedule has been mad as has been Luna's, they were busy from 7 in the morning to 10:30 at night last week. For Luna, things will ease up now, but Gaia has 6 tests to write until Christmas that will count for her final exams. She hopes to join us in the new year, she promised to tell me this weekend which spell Selowen will memorize right now.

Selowen memorizes Sleep before joining Jinali and Karathos.

Ok, with Xmas around the corner our presence is going to be limited to say the least, won't have much chance to post, but if the opportunity arises then we shall see. (Basically gone from tomorrow till early Jan now)

Have a happy Xmas everyone, and enjoy the new year!

So, do we want to play out this guy's night/ladies' night out? If so, what did you all have in mind?

Problem was, everyone (except me, I guess) went on vacation, too. So nobody was around.

Nah, just the dwarven penchant for ale is all.

I'd say go on with the game. Probably Targin and Erastin will tease each other with what they remember from that night, but we don't need to play it out.

So, thus ends the first day. Any thoughts, opinions, feedback, questions? Are you guys enjoying this so far?

I'm sorry there have been so many delays so far. I realize we're off to a slow start. First, we spent several weeks waiting for Gaia to show up, then came the holidays. But things will start to pick up now.

I've been pretty much playing this module straight so far, although I adjusted the timeline a bit. Although an exact year is not given, the module seems to imply it takes place immediately after the War of the Lance. I adjusted it to be about twenty five years after, though. The assassin, for instance, was originally sent by the Dragonarmies. That didn't make any sense in our new timeline, so I changed it. And Gunther wasn't Grandmaster yet, etc. But it's not a big deal.

Speaking of the assassin, that whole battle was rigged. If the party failed to take him down within a round, Sir Charles automatically kills him. Seems a bit of a cheat to me, but that's how the module was set up. The assassin was only a level 2 fighter, so not worth much XP, and Sir Charles got a share of it, too, which is why the XP is so low.

I believe the assassin encounter was really more to see what the party would do. Even if they did nothing, the assassin would still have been thwarted. But by helping, it boosted Erastin's chances of getting his squirehood.

The blue jello was not from the module, but something of an inside joke. Horizon and I are big fans of a television show called Stargate, and they almost always feature blue jello being served in the mess hall. Jello may seem a bit of an anachronism, but I thought it fits. The gnomes and the knights have some strong ties, and it makes sense the knights would cherry-pick some of their inventions to use for themselves. (I do believe there is one novel, set way in Fifth Age, where the knights make use of gunpowder borrowed by the gnomes, even.)

Anyway, I'll set up the new thread now. Hope you are all having fun so far.

For me, it is immense fun to get into the skin of a seven feet tall, horned male... fires my imagination.

Glad you're enjoying it. I've never run a game with a minotaur PC before, so it's a fairly new experience for me, as well.
