Searching the ship

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

Gustas declares his approval with the contents of the barrel, "AHH, we've found it, the liquid of eternal refressssshhhhment!" as he gives his head a big shake, ridding the remains of the bilges from his face.

"What's through that there door Kulop-y?"

Kulop has no trouble opening the door. Inside he find's a halfling's paradise: From iron hooks set into the ceiling hang three long strings of sausages, a large ham and a hunk of meat. Against the hull are three sacks. Set against the bulkhead beside the door are a cask and a ceramic jar. Against the other bulkhead are set a large and a small cask and another ceramic jar. There is
an opening in the latter bulkhead about 3' square and with its lower edge about 3' above the deck.

The water of the barrel in the kitchen now looks unfit for human consumption.

Reller nudges his companion and says, "What about it? Care to give it a sniff around?" Though, he looks at the food with a hint of a smile. "Food last, of course.", he tells his lizard friend.

The pseudodragon rubs its scaly head on Reller's cheek, then takes off. Reller has to grab something for support because the rapport with the flying little creature offsets his sense of balance. The lizared darts through the pantry, and Reller gets images of "tasty" and "disgusting" in turn, depending on what the animal is looking at. Then it flies through the opening into the next room, but Reller can't make up much of the information it transmits. It feels most like "boring" and "people stuff".

"Well, I think that worked out.", Reller says cheerfully as he steadies himself with a hand to the wall. He clears his throat and focuses his attentions on the link between him and his companion, "Mind you, this is all new to me."

"I believe these can be trained, although I think it is possible this one already is.." Brax comments to the sea elf, "It appears we are the victim of circumstance.. Do you have a family? I'm assuming they would miss you after all this time.." She adds, her red eyes regarding the bird with interest.

She waits on deck for the others to finish below, her strong arm steadying the Elf.

In the galley
Having steadies himself, Reller can now concentrate better on what the pseudodragon transmits to him. At the moment, the creature looks at the play of the sunlight on an adze blade hanging on a wooden wall., and feels content and pleased. Then suddennly, the world becomes blurry and Reller nearly topples over before he can get back into his own mind. The psuedodragon darts out of the opening between the galley store and the room it was in, nearly brushing over Kulop's head peeking in. Chirping, the pseudodragon lands on Reller's shoulder, it seems to be asking for a reward.
In the next room, Kulop only sees some rope, some planks, several shipbuilding tools, a cask and a box. If he wants to get in, he needs help because the openoing is at the height of his nose

on deck
To Brax's question about his family, Oceanus replies drily "I'm still a bachelor, and I doubt there is a maid waiting anxiously for my return." It sounds like there might be more to the story, but he doesn't elaborate. "I was sent to investigate what is going on with this ship, and I doubt my people will have expected me back by now." He seems a bit uncomfortable in Brax's grip, and he asks: "Could we just sit down on the planks? I beleive they have found the kitchen, if there is any fish or meat available, I would very much like to eat."

Kulop is looking for a stool to stand on, failing that he drags the table near the wall, climbs on it, pushes his body half way through and try to see better the room contents.

Gustas wanders through the galley idly following Kulop into the next room.
Upon seeing Kulop attempting to get up and in somewhere he lends a supporting, although clumsy, hand to get the Halfling into the small space. "In ya get then" he declares his assistance, he wonders if it was small spaces in general that excited this man, or if it was only small spaces on boats.

"I am curious, do they have dark elves under the sea?" Brax asks before nodding and assisting him to sit. "I will ask on the food situation soon, and prove you are no threat."

Reaching into a pouch she produces a small amount of nuts and seeds, "Perhaps these may help? Will you go back to the ocean and your people straight away?"

With Gustas's assistance, Kulop is able to enter the ship's stores. He sees various ropes (the sailors will call them lines, of course), planks, and all sorts of tools. Most are, alas, too big for his hands and arms. The tools all look in very good condition. There is a box and a cask, too. Both are closed. The cask is chest-high for him.

Oceanus accepts the offered food. "I'm not used to land food, but that'll do" he says with his thanks. After munching a bit, he comes back to Brax's question. "What are dark elves?" he asks. "Surely not you? You have unusual coloring, but it is very bright."
