Arei's elven ears prick up at this, standing she moves a little closer.

Ouragana , too, listens in to the conversation Jocelyn and Mara are having..

Jocelyn wrote:"The person that checked out this morning, was a man or a woman?" she asks. "And what did they look like?"

"A young man," Mara says. "Maybe around your age or so. Didn't get too much of a good look at him, he always had a hood up on his cloak; which was odd, as it's pretty warm out, now that I think about it."

"Hmmm." Arei muses, "I will head up too." She grins.

"How long was he staying here?" Jocelyn asks. "Did he speak to you at all?"

Mara shrugs. "Only about a week. Mostly kept to himself. Every day he'd go somewhere and each evening he'd return, take a meal, then head back up to his room."

"Funny sort.." Arei muses, "Did he..?" She pauses, her voice raising to enter the conversation. "Did he tell you he was leaving? Perchance?"

Baeros gaps at the old lady, "Seven silvers?!? It's a robbery during daylight!" he looks around at the amused reactions of his new 'friends', especially the 'little elf'...
"Fine! Since you made everyone here so happy, there you are." Baeros hands the money to the old lady making his lack of satisfaction as obvious as possible, 'But I take back my apology for the muddy tracks, you old hag!' Baeros thinks to himself. 'Besides we need to check this room anyway, I've a feeling we recently met it's former occupier, and not on good terms...' He tries to comfort himself.

"As I said, he checked out officially early this morning," Mara repeats.

After Baeros hands over the seven silver pieces, she hands him a key in return. "It's room number 1. And anything you break or damage up there will cost you extra," she warns.

Since the chat seems to be over, Val speaks up. "What's for lunch". After waiting for Mara to rattle off the menu, she will opt for the special. "And a beer too."

"Sorry, I have to confess I joined your conversation late." Arei admits with a blush, (Was intentional, didn't want to look like she was eavesdropping).

"Could I have some bread and cheese? And another wine?" She asks, standing on the stair.

Jocelyn resists the urge to slap her forehead, and smiles almost sheepishly to Mara. "Please, forgive my...friends. I think they might be a little insane," she explains. "The reason behind all of these questions is because that man tried to kill me," she says with a sigh. "I was hoping to get some information about him, like where he might have came from or if he had talked to anyone during his stay here."

Baeros says, "Yeah, I want some food and beer too. I guess breakfast is included in 7 sp per night, right?" and he glares at Mara ominously.

Believing he could learn something about the assassin origin if he could see his horse Baeros asks, "Did that man stable a horse when he came in?"

Ouragana had said nothing all that time, and when Val places her order, she asks for the special as well. "And some pineapple juice with water, if you have that, please. Otherwise, just water."

"Kill you?!" Mara exclaims with surprise. "By the gods...and he was staying at my inn the whole time. Bastard is lucky he never tried to do me in, or I'd have given him what for!" She pantomimes beating him with her walking stick for emphasis. She shakes her head at Baeros. "No horse. Came in from a ship, I think." She then heads into the kitchen for awhile.

Mara returns with a plate of fried coconut shrimp and a beer for Val, a plate of bread and cheese and a glass of wine for Areilon, oatmeal and a beer for Baeros, and a pineapple juice and water for Ouragana. She then collects everyone's payment.
