"I don't think we can learn much from here" Ouragana says, turning back. They are probably not even killed here, but displayed so they can be easily found. We might find better clues if we ask around who the victims were. But that might get us into trouble with the wardens, people might accuse us of vigilantism."

Jocelyn rolls her eyes at the elf before she turns and walks back to the inn on her own.

"How'bout anyone with relations to the victims? Hear anything from, or of them?" Dahn ask.

"Well, obviously, they were pretty upset," Pearl says. "The Wardens interviewed them all, but nothing came from it. None of the families had any idea why anyone would murder those girls. They didn't have any enemies or anything. But they obviously made someone pretty mad, I guess."

On the way back to the inn (with Areilon and Val, probably), Ouragana stops once they are out of sight of the mill. "Let's do a perimeter walk around the mill, to see if there is anything that suggests it is a good place to kill someone, or just a good place to put bodies on display."

"Yes, that would be a good idea, we have time do we not?" Arei starts walking slowly around the Mill, "It appears our young Cleric cannot take a joke." She adds, winking at Ouragana and Val.

Val, Ouragana and Areilon slowly circle the windmill, searching for anything unusual. Neither the elf or the half-orc find anything, but the sharp-eyed mage notices something strange. She spots a series of small holes in the ground, as if someone drew out a dagger and stabbed the ground several times with each step they made, forming a strange little line of tracks. These 'tracks' cannot be followed, as they disappear at the gravel road.

===========

Ouragana makes an INT check (1d20): 3, pass. She finds something unusual.

"Look here" Ouragana calls out to her companions. "This looks as if someone had stabbed the ground with every step they took. Do you have an idea what that might mean? The stabs are small as if made with a dagger, but it's hard to bend down like that. Are there longer-bladed weapons that are not wider than a dagger?"

(From where do the marks lead to the gravel road?)

(OOC: They start about ten yards north of the windmill.)

Ouragana looks back at the windmill from where the strange tracks begin. Is that the side where the door is, or are there windows on any level of the mill that overlook that place?

There is a window there, but it's on the second story of the windmill.

"Dagger marks?" Arei asks, leaning down she investigates the holes for a moment

(How close together are they? Could they be made by a creature?)

The marks are quite close together, one after the other.

"I might be wrong, but something makes me think these are 'footprints' of some kind..." She comments to the group.

"Or a spear used as a walking stick" Val continues to look around.
