"I'm...not a strong swimmer," Amon admits. "But Echo can swim. Who else can, as well?"

"I cannot." Brax responds simply.

Searos shrugs "I'm a street rat, not a sewer rat."

You don't need to swim as yet, the rock can be reached by wading. At the moment, the water seems to get chest deep at the maximum. Only behind the rock do the deep waters begin.

Well, you can't tell exactly from the distance, but it looks as if none needs to swim to reach the rock, there is a series of pools with ridges between them, and some smaller rocks strewn about. Behind the rock the triton sits on, however, the water is much darker.

"Forgive me. I will wait on the bank." The Cleric almost shudders, and pulls away from the water.

"You would have to chase with me with the armies of the Hells to waltz over there to that creature. If this doesn't scream TRAP then I don't know what does. That thing right there is the trappiest trap that ever trapped in the town of Trap. Not interested."

Searos instead follows Gunter's example and pulls out his bow and an arrow.

Seeing bows and arrows readied and pointing at her, the young triton shakes her head vigourously and attempts to go for cover, letting herself glide down the rock at the far side from the group, as far as the chain tied to her wrist allows, It must be an extremely uncomfortable, if not painful, position for her.

"All right then," Amon says after a few moments of thought. "You can cover me then. I'll go in alone, if necessary." Taking a deep breath, he strides forward, wading through the water. Dogmeat attempts to dog-paddle behind him. Hopefully, his Cloak of Protection and the Armor spell surrounding him will keep him safe if, as the rest of the group suspects, this is a trap.

"Do not fear, I will not hurt you," he says to the Triton as he gets closer. He repeats the phrase in Elvish, in case she can speak that language.

"Oh, Pelor save me." Brax mutters, throwing off her cloak and dropping her robe, dressed only in a Linen under robe. "Hold this, please?" She asks Vee passing the girl her mace.

With that she moves towards the water following Amon, "I do not plan to hurt you." She says in common.

Searos watches (momentarily distracted by under robes and all) and mutters to himself "Something weird happens and I fully intend to hurt you." Just in case, he glances back in the direction they came.

As Amon shouts to the triton in elven, he gets a reaction. "I am not afraid of you" she says, with a strange stress on "of".

Just before he reaches the rock, something lunges out of the water at him, trying to grapple him. It looks like an enormous cat with claw-studded paws and a mouth wide open in a snarl, showing impressive fangs. Those back on shore can see that the lower body of the creature is like a fish's. Due to the rapid movement, the archers have as much of a chance to hit Amon as they have to hit the seacat.

Actions for round 1?

Brax darts forward as quick as she can, going under the surface of the water, she couldnt swim, but perhaps it was like foraging in underwater caves.

(Her plan is to reach the creature and pull it out of the water, grappling it herself, and smack it against the rock, how how big is enormous?)
