Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
Jerry shakes her head.
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
"HULLO! Didyoucomethroughthemiststoo!?! Iwashavingafunnightofgambling! Then wooosh! Iwokupinthisstrangeland." He will take a breath.
"I thought at first the goblin band just left, but there was no sign of them, and I had no idea of any of the landmarks around. But then I met up with Elsa, and then these wolves, then the rest of these fine folks!" Clearly working up a head of steam again.
"Then we fought this manbeast in the jail, then we showed up here, and got on the trail to the crown, where we had to beat down an old hag in a skeleton construct. That is where I got this." He will point at his partially withered leg.
"And we found this huge Ziggurat, that was lined with skeletons, and huge ginormous ones inside that turned the top around. Then these crazy odd creatures that attacked with the ferocity of Barbarians! But they were about the only size of me." Catching his deep breath with a few deep ones.
"Now here we are, and I found these odd notes in some rooms at the Ol' Inn. They are odd. I mean why would you need to feed a bush!

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
That's a helluva adventure! When I apprenticed, I heard people talking about buring dead stuff with plants to help em grow but never heard it said to be feedin. Must mean something other. What kinda bush is Meekulbrau or isit something other?
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
"I think that is the stuff they make that awful liquor with!"
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
[OOC] While reviewing the "Acquired Party Knowledge of Ravenloft" trying to find out more about Meekulbrau, I came across a reference to an almost identical list to the one Pyro found (dated 2017). Assuming I'm not splicing this poorly timewise, is there any chance someone who's been around a while makes this connection (if it's relevant)?
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
I posted that in the OOC thread today too.

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
My bad. Have to remember to use (and check) the right thread going forward.
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
"Meekulbrau is the name of the wine, I assume that its where the Grapes or whatever they use come from.." Mira explains as she zones back into the conversation after thinking about Sabrina once more. "This list matches one we found a while back.. Was in Jackques farm wasn't it Jerry?" She asks dragging the Half Elf onto the conversation.
"Like I said I think the crossed out names are those who have been killed, Airand was a young Man who took over for me at the Last Inn I played. I have no idea who the others are.. apart from Arkiel who sent us to get the Crown." She considers the comment about feeding the bushes, it was there in her mind, but she couldnt grasp it.

" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
"Yes, you have the right of it, Mira," confirms Jerry.
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
As Jerry replies Sabrina reappears, the key to Mira's room in hand, her eyes are obviously red but she holds her head high and sits by Mira once more.

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
[OOC] Sorry, playing a bit of catch-up here. drove over 2000 miles this last weekend for a faaar out of state wedding and similar festivities, but back now.[/OOC]
Exterior of The Broken Wheel inn
When Del rises, Elsa catches up with her just outside for some privacy. That's awful. Are you ok? I know things like that can come out of nowhere... my cousin Liss... well... I hope I never know what something like that is like, but I have seen what it can do to people... and...
Just outside someone is pouring pails of water on the cobbles to rinse away what looks an awful lot like blood...
A moment later Esker steps out to join Del on errands and Karl emerges to check on her as well just as Gregor returns from his own errands.
Interior of The Broken Wheel inn
Gregor returns, posing his question of ways to make some money hereabouts. Well, Merrick begins after Jerry's vague response. We actually came into some cash on this errand to find.. umm... the item. He explains in common, so the local staff won't have a chance to overhear. There were quite a few dangerous creatures and undead, along some cache's of valuables. Of course we still need to deliver said item somewhere, in the hopes that the the good doctor can send most of us back home.
After Jerry's hints about money Merrick considers, Well... um... I suppose I could lend you some... what do you think of 75% interest? He adds in what is very nearly a joke.
When Mira returns and the conversation moves on to Pyros' findings
Pyros compares the list from Jackques and from the Inn and finds them nearly identical...
====
Those running errands or exploring the town, please take a look at SKALD in the "Acquired Party Knowledge" thread. Any of those places of interest one of the party members or the local staff can give them the details in that thread.
There are, of course, other places not listed so let me know if there are any specific kinds of places the PC would seek out

Yes, the Meekulbern berries are what is used to make the wine. There are quite a few of them to the north of the river. The easiest crossing is to pass the Old Kartakann inn's north bridge. It's... fine during the day but at night nobody would be caught dead out there being practically in the wilderness... Though there are some shacks and a few residents... it's kind of a shanty-town.

Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
"Interest? Merrick, I'm 100% interested! I'll gladly accept your money," Jerry replies, visibly relaxing. "Payback though. how about you learn some spells from my book? Or if you prefer, I could make the paper or bind your next splelbook. What do you think?"
Re: Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings
"This cannot be a coincidence. Do you think I should maybe ask around for one or 2 of the names? I mean everyone thinks I am a kid all the time. I might get away with it."

Del grips her nose between her fingers, exhaling slowly, closing her eyes and then opening them.TristenC wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 8:20 am [OOC] Sorry, playing a bit of catch-up here. drove over 2000 miles this last weekend for a faaar out of state wedding and similar festivities, but back now.[/OOC]

"Honestly, I'll probably never be fine, but you move on get, on with your life, I'd rather not dwell on the past too much cause
I will insult the fuck out of someone if I do, and maybe even bitchslap them in the face. I don't want sympathy, I Just want to see the town, find
something to do while I'm here to start. Then maybe work on finding my way back home. I'm new here so I do not expect any favors or
whatever, I can honestly earn my way, always have. Maybe even a little dishonestly as well if need be. I sort of heard them talking about something
but was never included in that conversation which leads me to believe that I am not welcome to help with whatever they have going on.
Hence me looking for something to do. I won't keep you any longer, you should get back to your friends. I'll be back sometime this afternoon."
Spying Esker and Karl she frowns. Running her hand through her hair, she tries to put into words a polite sentence as she is not in any mood for
pity and anything else along those lines.
"Gentlemen? I hope you are not here to check up on me. I am a big girl and can take care of myself. If you wish to simply show me
the sights and nothing else, that is amenable, If you're here to keep an eye out for me, please don't. I'm really not in the mood, but thannk
you for your good intentions."
Turning her back to the two men , she approaches the person pouring the pail of water and smiles at them. Clearing her throat she asks in a few
languages "What happened here?" Pointing to the blood.
"Killing means never having to say you're sorry"
