CH. 8: Reunion

Jocelyn nods to Ouragana before she leads the group towards the inn. "I'm hoping this doesn't cause an uproar, but I guess we will see."

Baeros, indifferent to the body in the boat looks at the sea and asks, "Do you know where is the reef? I've heard there are quiet exotic and rare fish there. I would like to check it sometime..."

When turning to the inn, Baeros gives three sharp whistles, calling Takit back from running wild on the sands. "Here boy. Let's grab something to eat."

Val quickly agrees. "Yeah, I'm thirsty, and a little hungry too."

"I haven't spent a lot of time exploring this area," Jocelyn admits. "I've been busy with my duties, but I'm sure a lot of the locals could tell you of places you could visit," Jocelyn assures the man as she steps inside the inn.

Baeros looks for a stable boy to attend to Thunder, hands him the reins and some coins and says, "Take a good care of him." Than carrying his gear over his shoulder Baeros joins the rest of the party in the inn.

(OOC: I apologize from ahead for the questions that might seem trivial to you guys:
Since I never traveled on horses and I'm sure they don't have locks as my car have, I wonder how to keep the gear and horse from being stolen while entering buildings or going to sleep...
Does recognition marks of the beast and fear of the law is enough to keep thieves away?
I'm also not sure the worth of money... does a copper is a good tip for stable boy?)

(OOC: The saddle and stuff you take off, and put beside the horse, its just accepted that its still there when you get back, saddle bags etc, you take to your room.)

Arei wanders back to the inn and waits for the others, her mind in turmoil regardless of her external appearance.

After the funeral, the party heads into the inn. The place is still deserted, save for the old woman behind the counter. She busies herself by dusting the shelves behind the counter, not paying the party much mind at all.

Baeros pays five silver to stable his horse.

(OOC: Yeah, you'll either need to remove Thunder's saddlebags and store them elsewhere, or just hope that nobody robs you while you're away. A copper piece is the barest amount of a tip you can give, so...up to you, really.)

Baeros tries to get the woman attention, "Ahmm... " he coughs loudly, "Hello. Can you cook us some food lady? And do you have any available rooms?"

The old half-elven woman turns to Baeros and scowls. "You best not be tracking mud all over my floor," she warns, noting the ranger's travel-weary appearance. "As for food, I'll need to see the color of your money first, young man. Last vagrant I let in here with your appearance wound up trying to rob me blind. I have one room left, but it won't come cheap, I warn you of that now."

"Tried to rob you blind?" Jocelyn asks curiously. "Oddly, I came here to ask if there have been some new faces in town. I am going to assume that the man that tried to rob you was new?"

Val wanders in following the group and chuckles at the response Baeros receives. "Welcome to town"

Baeros frowns and looks on the floor at his muddy tracks... "Errr... sorry about that," He says miserably, then adds with a grin "But I can assure you it's better than me taking off my shoes, the smell might choke you all out."

"So, how much for a night then?"

At Val's comment Baeros grimaces, "Yeah... Thanks..." he grunts.

Arei sits in the corner, nursing a glass of wine she bought while the others were at the funeral. Her mouth breaks into a small grin as she sees the man's attempts to make friends, She could help, talk to the barkeep, but this was so much more fun.

"Oddly, I came here to ask if there have been some new faces in town. I am going to assume that the man that tried to rob you was new?"

Mara nods. "Sure, you remember. It was about eight months ago. You healed me after I fought the lot of those scoundrels off."

"So, how much for a night then?"

"Seven silver pieces a night," Mara replies. "Take it or leave it. It's the only room I have left. Last occupant checked out this morning, otherwise I'd be all filled up."

"Ah, right," Jocelyn says with a nod. "The person that checked out this morning, was a man or a woman?" she asks. "And what did they look like?"
