Shima follows the little fellow down (keeping the weapon out of sight).

"You've joined a failing cause," Kendra says as she continues her attack on Sadron. She sees a warrior on her side fall. "Burzan, wake her up if you can," she says. She hears Magus' call as well. There is nothing she can do about it right now.

Kendra slashes at Sadron, leaving him bloodied but she is able to block his own attacks against her. "Is this what you wanted?" he asks, his voice filled with a mix of pity and anger. "It's not too late to do the right thing."

As Shima is climbing down the ladder, Gobax begins to chant. Magnus, however, is faster. He moves out of the circle of stealth, chants his own spell, and then pummels the goblin with four magic missiles, disrupting his prayer. "Now you die, goblin!" Tulbas joins him, and casts his own spell, but it doesn't seem to have any visible effect. He then rushes back into the silence, crossing the bridge partway. Ironically, William then hits Tulbas with his own version of a holding spell, and the elf suddenly finds himself unable to move at all!

Nora moves out onto the bridge, as well, and wakes up Raena. Likewise, Fiona manages to wake up Haahqae. Meanwhile, Yvette and Xyleena continue to trade pot shots at Pen.

"But it is too late," Kendra says as she continues her onslaught on Sadron. She all ready believed it was too late for her the moment she took an innocent life.

We have to keep them from casting... he mutters quickly to Shima.

Hoping he has time, Grubnick slaps his hands together as he tries to call forth a blade of pure flame!
The Dragon Queen's time is short! She is not the only god to return! And her corruption WILL NOT LAST! he shouts back, hoping his voice carries throughout the cavernous battlefield.

[Did Grubnick lose the second hold person spell from his memory? I still see it non-italicized on his list. If not he'll try hold person again]

Coming back to his senses, Haahqae is quite surprised to be alive.

Well the good news is that we're not little piles of dust or ashes yet. Is Magnus holding back or is he just a really weak wizard? Judging by how quickly he can cast magic missiles... I think he's holding back. But why? Is he saving his most powerful spells for some sort of unspeakable torture or something?

But he quickly deturmines that he must not have been out that long, and returns to his task at hand; which is to punish Xyleena for her transgressions.

Action: Shoot twice at Xyleena

Tulbas curses silently in his mind...

To avoid interfering with Gobax/Grubnick, Shima goes the long way around the pillar approaching Magus with a loud (and hopefully distracting), "Magus, you didn't wait for me."
Becoming aware of the Silence spell the dwarf continues to approach Magus, repeating the above exclamation when sound returns to the dwarf and with a bit a theatrical cloak flapping.

If he gets close enough, Shima will try to grab the mage's arm or otherwise wrestle with him to hamper or prevent spell casting.

Now awake again, Raena starts slashing at Miriam again, but to no avail. "Bah, this is useless!" she complains. "Where the Abyss is our magical backup?" she demands. She glances to the frozen Tulbas. "He's just standing there! Someone do something about that!"

"I'll see what's holding Magnus up," Nora volunteers, and she hurries off.

"It's never too late," Sadron says, as she blocks his attacks. "Is this what your family wants? Is this really what you want?" he demands. She slashes him pretty deeply, and he staggers. Another hit should finish him off. But William comes up behind him and prays, touching his shoulder, and heals him somewhat.

Gobax starts praying to paralyze Magnus again, while Shima circles around the column. Before Shima can reach him or Gobax can finish his spell, Magnus blasts the goblin with another four magic missiles. The concussive force nearly takes Gobax down, but he finds the will to keep standing, just barely. When Shima reaches him, he grabs for the mage's arm, but it's too late by that point. "You!" Magnus sneers. "I knew you couldn't be trusted. I'll kill you, too!" The woman in black shows up at this point, sees what is happening, and rushes to swing her mace at Gobax. Unlike magic missiles, though, he finds it easy to dodge it.

"You should have stayed down!" Yvette warns Haahqae, firing a bolt into his shoulder. Pen nails Xyleena between the eyes with a stone, and she goes down. So Haahqae switches targets and fires at Yvette instead. The first arrow bounces off some kind of invisible shield in front of Tulbas, effectively blocking it. His second arrow does manage to hit her, though, causing her to scream and curse.

Fiona, meanwhile, focuses on Tulbas. "We need to take out their mage before he recovers," she warns. She fires twice at the elf. One arrow is blocked by the aforementioned invisible shield, but the other does hit him in the leg. Completely paralyzed, he cannot even stagger or scream out in pain.

Damn, those magic bolt things hurt! And they're so FAST. Gonna need a lot more luck to get out of this one... The goblin takes cover behind the column and prays to Sirrion for healing.

Kendra is too caught up in her emotional drama to even think about giving out orders to the others. Despite William's healing, Kendra continues her onslaught on Sadron. "My family has what they want right now, so don't bring them into this. As for what I want, that has never matter, and it won't ever matter." Crawling out of the dark place that she was in was going to take more than Sadron telling her that it was never too late. If it really wasn't too late, then he wouldn't have left in the first place when she desperately needed someone, but he did leave which told her that there really wasn't any hope left for her.

OoC: Yvette said something in the flavor text; but isn't she in the middle of a zone of silence?

There was something strange about this situation. With the battle raging so close to him and Yvette mysteriously quiet. Haahqae can't quite put his finger on it... until it strikes him. The reason that Magnus hasn't vaporized them all yet; is because he's mysteriously not here; slinging spells at them.

"Looks like their mage bailed on them. Tulbas, did your mentor decide to teleport out of a sticky situation again? But this time leave you here to die? I thought you two were close pals now; black robe."

Action: move to the square to the left of Pen; then pelt Yvette with another arrow.

Shima stabs Magus.

Sadron and Kendra continue exchanging blows, but even with William's healing, it's clear Kendra has the advantage with her magical sword--the one gifted to her by the very man she was now trying to kill. "Your family will never be safe, Kendra. They're too useful to him. They will always be pawns to force you to do his bidding, forever. You're a fool if you can't see that. And when you are no longer useful to him, he'll discard you and your family." Sadron actually manages a couple of good hits on Kendra, weakening her, but significantly so. She realizes if she does not end this now, he may eventually get the upper hand again. What's more, she hears William chanting to his god again. Suddenly, both of her swords start to warm up to the touch. With one final blow, she strikes, cutting her only one true love down. He drops to the ground at her feet, slowly bleeding out.

Gobax rounds the corner to heal up, but finds he cannot speak--he has entered the circle of silence. Shima, meanwhile tries to stab at Magnus with his cloakpin, but misses. Furious, Magnus turns to him. "I knew you couldn't be trusted, dwarf!" He casts again, this time shooting an arrow of acid right at Shima. But luckily the dwarf is able to dodge. It hits the pillar behind him, and begins to sizzle as it eats away at the stone. Nora then swings her mace at Shima, hitting him fairly hard in the head. The world whirls around for a bit, and he tastes blood, but he regains his bearings after a few seconds.

For some reason, Tulbas does not answer Haahqae. Or move at all. He just stands there, motionless, as Fiona continues shooting arrows at him--arrows that seem to bounce off some kind of magical shield, much to the one-eyed woman's chagrin. Haahqae moves closer to Pen, and the two fire rocks and arrows at her. She silently shouts curses at them.
