"As you will," Tanulan says, actually getting up from his chair as the two exit the tent.

After settling into his seat again, the elf turns to Ari. "So, what would you do instead, my friend? Would you have us deploy the cohort, checking every house, shack, hut, shed, barn, and cave in a ten-mile radius of this place, thus scattering our force into small groups, to be overwhelmed by the dead?"

"We did try that. We send a tracker to follow the backtrail of his undead, but the trail led us nowhere. We're dealing with a very clever opponent here, and one who is very motivated."

I ken ye've few choices, but a man willin' ta dishonor the dead by havin' em raised tae attack their loved ones does nae seem likely ta blanch at you havin' a few of em crucified.

Galanis listens carefully to each of the speakers and adds, "Maybe if you keep some alive and scare them, they will try to return to their master?"

"I saw one of those things walk through a fire once," Tanulan says. "I don't see them being scared of anything. Let them go and they just try to gnaw on whatever is in front of them."

And as Tanulan is speaking, his ancilla, Lucius enters the tent. "They are here, Primus."

"Good. Bring Fraso and his servants in. You can leave the mercenary outside." he says to Lucius, then, to Galanis "Would you be so kind as to see to your comrade's injuries? Thank you. And once you are all done with him, perhaps, ferrarius, you would be willing to take the newcomers past the temple. Best they see it for themselves, that they might appreciate the gravity of the situation.
"And see to it that they do not start any trouble, will you?"

The two groups cross in the courtyard, Fraso looks pale and shaken, with dark blood on his clothes. Salia and Hiric's clothes are also stained, although they do not look quite as shaken. Egg is a mess. His face is bloodied and swollen, and his eyes look a bit unfocused. And judging from the condition of his boots, he was dragged here rather than walking.
The legionnaires drop Egg in the courtyard and usher Fraso and his servants into the tent.

"Good gods! What have happened to you??" Galanis rushes to Egg and try to see if there is anything he can do to patch his wounds.

"Legionnaires," he says, his voice slightly slurred. "Back off. 'm fine." He jerks his head away when Galanis reaches to check the cut over his eye, and in doing so throws himself off balance badly enough that he almost falls, and settles for dropping into a sitting position atop a crate.
After he has a moment to collect himself, he says, quietly: "You should not have left. Two more of those things came out from behind the barn. One of them got onto the wagon before I could take it down."

"I'm sorry! I was sure we cleared the area. Wait, I'll call the dwarf. Ari. He might be able to heal you." Galanis says to Egg and then stands up looks around to see the dwarf and *whisle*, "Hey! Ari! Can you come here for a second?" While doing so he takes out from his pocket one of the apples he collected and gives to Egg.

Ari moves to the new acquaintance, but watches this 'master Fraso' instead. He cuts a glance at the pummeled Egg. If ye require healin' mayhap I c'n help. He says to Egg, but looks back at Fraso immediately after, taking in all he can.

Liri leads Angel towards the lakeshore, talking and trying to help her calm down.

Despite their ugly appearance, Egg's injuries, upon closer examination, are mostly superficial. What is clear, however, is that the beating he received was carefully applied, to ensure compliance without causing permanent injury. His assailants were professionals.

When Tanulan spots Ari watching Fraso inside the pavilion, he gives Lucius a little head nod, then a sideways glance at the group outside the tent. Lucius moves to the courtyard collecting a couple of burly legionnaires on his way, and says to Galanis: "The primus asks that you collect your two associates and follow the ferrarius to see the temple. Afterwards, you may return here, where a tent will be provided for you, or you may seek other lodging in town."

Galanis looks at the wounds and then at Tanulan, "Was this really necessary?" he gestures to Egg "We did help you after all."
After he asks them to leave he says "Sure, we will. Hmm... But our employer seems a little out of it. Our contract binds us to make sure he is fine. So right after he is back to himself we will go. Angel?" he looks at her for instructions.

Tanulan is absorbed with his new guests and completely ignores Galanis. The legionnaires near the entrance to his tent, however, turn their gaze on Galanis, and favor him with a pair of matched scowls. They make no move towards him, nor do they reach for their weapons, but their expressions promise that violence is definitely an option.
Egg mutters something along the lines of "Not worth it" and tries to rise. He stands, wavering slightly, and says: "better go."
