Re: Naras' Vignette
Naras thinks ~Teleport or Invisibility~
She stands still, listening.
When she hears nothing, the dwarf moves fowards towards the chest in the corner, until either something changes (e.g. spell trap goes off or the chest attacks {Trapper or Mimic}) or she is in front of it.
If Naras arrives in front of the chest unmolested, she will try to open it.

Re: Naras' Vignette
Naras stands still for a moment, but nothing happens. Eventually she starts to move around. No traps go off that she can see--a bluff? The chest has 70 gold coins in it, a dark red gemstone and a beautiful small shield that looks to be of old dwarven craft.
Re: Naras' Vignette
Realising she had been holding her breathe, the dwarf breathes and and forces herself to relax while she assesses the dark red gemstone.

OOC: Appraisal skill is 15, assuming its a 1 round action. Otherwise, if it takes more than a round or two, she will leave it, just in case the resist fire is needed and it runs out.

Naras gather up the gemstone and coinage, stowing them away, and then eyeballs the throne. If nothing obviously hidden, (behind it, etc), she returns to Pearl and Leena.

Re: Naras' Vignette
Naras picks up the red gemstone and looks it over. From what she can tell, it appears to be a garnet, probably worth around 500 GP or so. She takes it and the coins, but leaves the shield behind.
She looks over the throne. It's crude and made of wood and looks like it would be uncomfortable to sit on. Then again, the Son of Crizza didn't actually sit on it. She looks behind it, but finds nothing.

Naras makes an appraisal check on the dark red gemstone [TN 15] (1d20): 5, pass. She determines the gemstone is a garnet, worth somewhere around 500 GP.
Naras adds a garnet (500 GP) and 70 GP to her inventory.

Re: Naras' Vignette
The dwarf concentrates and looks round the room for any signs of sliding walls, moving stonework.
If nothing, she remembers to pick up the beautiful small shield (of dwarven craft) and returns to where she thinks Lenna and Pearl will be.

Re: Naras' Vignette
Naras searches the room but finds no evidence of sliding or shifting walls. Picking up the shield, she starts back the way she came.
Eventually, she reaches the cage where the prisoner was. He is still there, badly beaten and unconscious. Pearl and Leena are still there, as well. "You're alive!" Pearl says upon seeing her. "I tried to get Leena to leave, like you said, but she refused. I guess it turned out okay, though?"
===========
Naras detects sliding/shifting walls/rooms [TN 4] (1d6): 4, pass. She finds none.
Naras picks up the small shield [5 lbs]. She is now in moderate encumbrance.

Re: Naras' Vignette
"For today, yes. The Genasai has gone," the kohen responds. "Leena, would you be able to bring that hand cart to here? The one to the east, please? If it's got logs in it, they can dont have to come. Just remember the trip witr and dont set it off." She turned to Prarl, £Bit of a grotty job I know, but I want to get the dead one out of the water. I've tried a couple of ways thay didnt work.. I'm thinking of dangling you down on a rope and then you stick a loop of it over the dead one's foot. Then we pull you out, then we pull him out. Unless you can think of a better way of getting him out?"
Re: Naras' Vignette
Leena sets off to retrieve the wagon.
"Um, that seems kind of dangerous just to retrieve some woman's corpse," Pearl says. "I can't swim, so if I fall, I'll drown, too. Why bother? Do you think she had something valuable on her?"

Re: Naras' Vignette
The dwarf leaves the buckler behind, pushing it through the bars so as to be next to the sack.
She replies to Pearl, "The others mostly had a bit of coinage on them. But I was thinking of getting the body out so it can be buried."
As they set off to the room in question, Naras asks, "I was wondering if you might be interested in joining the Temple?"

Re: Naras' Vignette
"Well, they're all underground, so technically they are buried if you think about it," Pearl says. "Well, except the guard we left outside."
The two head for the room with the water. Pearl's jaw drops at Naras' offer. "What, me? Join the church of Gonto? Uh, well...I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm grateful for the chance you've given me to earn coin. It's more of a chance than anyone else has ever given me. But...I'm not really the priestess type. Also, I don't actually know much about Gonto or anything, to be honest. My family raised me Octhanian, but...well, I don't really know what I believe anymore."

Re: Naras' Vignette
"Well, there's natueral opening, now that poor Agnas has left us.It's not a glamorous job, but it does give food and lodging and some steady coin. And I did say that I would try my best to help you. THink on, the offer is open until we get nack to town and then I'll have to get the girls to look around the town for candidates. What you believe, or not, can come with time. And you may ythen choose to stay or go. I will still look for ship's passage as I promised. Know this, I keep my promises to kin, friends and enemies alike. I would call you friend." Naras orates, then stops and offers Pearl her hand, a gesture of sealing a friendship.
WHen they continue on, to arrive at the place of battle, Naras asks, "How would you suggest we might best get her out of the water? Think putting the table in the water and then the chest on the table might help act as an island or jetty and and allow someone to climb out? One of us climb, I mean, not her."

Re: Naras' Vignette
Pearl shakes Naras' hand, still unsure how to process all of this. She instead turns her mind to the task at hand. "Well...how are you at fishing? I mean, it sounds kind of gruesome, but she is dead. But maybe we can tie the rope to your spear and try to...you know...spear her and then pull her back up."
Re: Naras' Vignette
"Never mind, I'll come back with a grappling hook," replies Naras.
Going back to the furthest room (where the Genasai was encountered), the dwarf checkso ut the 3 bedrolls for anything contained or hidden, then prepares to take one back for the prisoner to hide his modesty.
Thee pair return to the room of battle. Naras runs a quick itiinary. Ignoring furniture, and 5 cospses, one of whom is unreachable in the water, what is there here that could be transported out?

Re: Naras' Vignette
After walking to the final room, Naras searches the sleeping bags but finds nothing in or under them. She rolls one up and picks it up. The two then return to the room they were in before.
Naras has more or less picked through everything already...except the area by the forge. She hasn't looked over there at all. So she heads over and has a look. Having been left unattended, the fire of the forge has now gone cold. There is a table nearby with a number of objects on it. They include two lumps of raw iron ore (about a pound each), two iron ingots (10 pounds each), two iron swords (one long sword and one great sword) that are very crudely made and look like they would probably snap if used in a real battle, and a book on metal forging written in Common.

Naras grabs a sleeping bag [8 lbs].

Re: Naras' Vignette
Naras grabs the book on forging and tucks it away, then having a qucik was if there is easy access to reasonnably clean water.
She says to Pearl, "Hey Pearl, I'm getting a bit slowed down here. My armour's not exactly weightless. Could you give me a hand with this sleeping bag?"
And then they head back to where Agnas was left, taking the maul with them.
The maul and the vegetables and mushrooms will be abandoned (but retrieving Naras's large sack) in the storeroom to the north.
The plan is to see if all the good stuff, including Agnas and the prisoner, if still unconsious, will fit in the cart and still be moveable.
