Jocelyn frowns as she takes notes of the situation that they are in. Realizing that one of the tribals actually spoke a word, Jocelyn decides to use it without knowing what it means. "KIFO!" Jocelyn shouts, commanding the tribal warrior to do as she says.

Deciding that it would be immoral to wait any further, Ouragana slides down the tree she is in, draws her dagger and runs to the tribal male, attempting to force her dagger through him.

Ouragana climbs down from her perch easily enough, then draws her dagger.

Grey remembers back to a week ago, during their first battle in the mountains. Concentrating on that image, he begins to chant and wave his hands about. Suddenly, a perfect replica of the jaguar they fought appears by the bonfire and moves toward the druid menacingly. However, it's completely silent, not growling, roaring or making any noise at all.

The tribal warrior looms over the old dwarf, spear in hand. He raises it to finish the cleric off, once and for all. Hoping and praying that 'kiho' means what she thinks it means, Jocelyn commands the tribal to 'kiho,' her voice empowered by Octhanus. Surprisingly, the tribal suddenly topples over, momentarily stunned. Realizing he has a window, Dalaim wastes no time and smacks the man in the head with his hammer, making sure he stays down.

"How...how did you know what that meant?" he asks the acolyte, out of breath.

Meanwhile, Areilon moves in to strike during Grey's distraction. However, her blow is so weak and feeble, it doesn't even chip the woman's bark hide. Luckily, Oren is able to deflect the druid's attack with his shield, and then counterattacks with his axe. "Tiiiiiimbeeeer!" he cries, hacking at the woman like she was an actual tree. She cries out in pain, and looks between the dwarf, the elf and the jaguar with worry.

(OOC: I rolled the dice to have an action "pending" in case I would be absent a little longer. Life is hectic right now)

Ouragana runs around the eastern palisade to get to the gap between the palisade and the tent. Instead of joining the melee, however, she uses a cantrip to make appear little flames on the woman's bark skin.

"I didn't have to know what it meant," Jocelyn said before she looked over the rest of the group. "Knock her out, don't kill her," she calls out to the others.

"That's not what I meant..," Dalaim says, getting to his feet. "Oh, no matter. Let's finish this." He turns to the tribal woman and begins praying to Gonto with all of his might. "Hear me, Gonto, Mistress of Stone!" he begins, his eyes glowing green.

Meanwhile, the battle rages on, and nobody really listens to Jocelyn's plea for mercy. "I doubt she'd do the same for us!" Oren calls back.

Grey continues concentrating on his illusion, his tongue sticking out a bit as he maneuvers the jaguar in to attack. The sinewy beast, just as graceful as the real thing, leaps at the tribal woman silently. It claws her with both paws, then rakes with its rear paws. The damage it causes is not real, but her mind makes it seem real to her.

Areilon does her best to defend herself, in the unlikely event the tribal decides to attack her while Ouragana uses a cantrip to slightly annoy the woman with a mild burn.

Despite it all, though, the druid is far more concerned with the jaguar. She jabs her spear at it, but it nimbly dodges the attack. While she is distracted, Oren moves in. He misses at first, but then cuts into her shoulder with the second blow. Normally, this wouldn't be enough to take her down--but she believes the claw marks from the jaguar are real and collapses as a result.

All of this happens before Dalaim can finish his impressive spell, making it a moot point. He finishes, and the tribal's spear suddenly changes shape, turning into a useless cube of stone. Dalaim's eyes return to their normal color and he frowns. "Oh, dear. Guess I didn't need that after all." He then drops to his knees, exhausted from the spellcasting.

==========

Initiative
Ouragana (1d10+2): 9
Areilon (1d10): 9
Jocelyn (N/A)
Grey (1d10+1): 7
Oren (1d10+7): 8
Dalaim (1d10): 1
Tribal 04 (1d10+6): 12

Round 6!

Dalaim begins casting a spell.
Grey has the illusionary jaguar attack Tribal 04 with its right claw (1d20): 18, hit for (1d3): 3 illusionary damage. Then with its left claw (1d20): 19, hit for (1d3): 1 illusionary damage. It then bites at her (1d20): 11, bare miss. Finally, it rakes with its rear claws (1d20): 12, hit for (1d4+1): 2 illusionary damage and (1d20): 20, critical hit! for (2d4+1): 4 illusionary damage.
Oren attacks Tribal 04 with his battle axe (+1) (1d20+1): 7, miss.
Ouragana moves forty feet southeast and uses a cantrip of flame on Tribal 04 (1d20): 13, pass. Ouragana slightly singes the Tribal's skin.
Areilon goes into full defense (AC improves by 1 point).
Tribal 04 attacks the illusionary jaguar with her two-handed stone spear (1d20): 6, miss.
Oren attacks Tribal 04 with his battle axe (+1) (1d20+1): 21, critical hit! for (2d8+3): 10 damage.
----Tribal 04 makes a system shock roll (1d100): 28, pass. She's not dead, but thinks she is. Tribal 04 falls.
Dalaim casts Stone Shape on the tribal's spear, ruining it.

Seeing that Jocelyn, who knows more about healing than she does, is with Val, Ouragana hurruies over to the collapsed Dalaim. Bending over him, she asks: "What can I do to help you?"

Oren goes to retrieve his dagger and crossbow, while Grey goes to pick up his daggers and dismisses the illusionary jaguar with a wave of his hand.

With Ouragana's help, Dalaim gets back to his feet. "Nothing, I'm afraid; unless you secretly know the healing arts. We will need to rest before proceeding. Luckily we have a camp set up for us--even fried fish for breakfast. No sense in letting it go to waste."

"This one's still alive," Oren notes, checking on the druid.

"So is this one," Grey warns, indicating the warrior that nearly killed Dalaim.

"Let's check if they have rope or fishing line here, we can tie them up then" Ouragana says and goes looking for that in a tent. Halfway in, she sticks her head back out and suggests: "We should be more careful than they were and set up a watch. I could climb the tree I was in again, I had a good view from there" she offers.

"I have some rope," Oren offers. "Got an extra tent, too. Not as big as these ones, though. But is there really any point in keeping them alive? We can't interrogate them, and it's pretty clear they want to kill us."

"A watch is a capital idea," Dalaim agrees. "We can take four shifts, two hours each. You, myself, Grey and Ironfeld," he says to the mage. "Jocelyn can watch over the more severely wounded--the orc and the elf."

While this is being discussed, Grey proceeds to start looting both the dead and the unconscious tribals for anything interesting.

Arei staggers over to the fallen bodies, the unconscious ones, "Tie them up, yes they want to kill us, but perhaps we can find some way to communicate." Barely able to keep upright she drives her sabre into the ground using it to stand.

"I need to rest, my whole body aches." Slumping to the ground she gives the fallen druid a quick check over.

Areilon finds on the druid the following: a sling, a pouch with six stones in it, a stone block (formally a stone spear that was altered by Dalaim), and three waterskins. However, closer examination reveals the skins do not contain water, but rather they appear to be potions of various colors, smells and textures.

Placing the sling and the stones on the ground, she eyes the potions with interest. "Jocelyn, Dalaim, perhaps these may be of some use?" She asks, raising the potions weakly.

"If there are other tribal people out there, which I'm sure there is, these two could be of use to us even if we can't communicate just yet," Jocelyn says as she walks over to the tribal warrior she took out, and binds his wounds to stop the bleeding. "We need to know why they are attacking us, so that means TRYING to communicate with them instead of acting just like them."
