Act 1, Scene 4: "Eroding the Wetrocks" (Main Game Thread)

Warning the creatures without threatenning she covers the groups retreat, sliding the plate in her belt, she watches the groups rear stepping partially into the light.

"Treasure?" Katten gives a toothy grin, "Silly creatures hide treasure in a hole." She chuckles, "Earthaniel, my friend." She clasps his arm. "let us get you out of here. Linar, cover our depature."

Dellinanth accepts the offered healing, thanking Jordek with a strong but friendly grip on the shoulder and a wide smile; obviously in better spirits now that the captives are freed.

The tribal teen, who has apparently learned enough common to be conversational, pipes up when he sees the bowl. Wow, look at that!! Its so bright, like the moon! But I meant coins. they have lots of them in the place where the guards sleep... the young man points to the chamber just to the SouthWest [Not to the North where Katten found the bowl and left the coins].

"Well it would be prudent to dig out any wealth. We could return most of it to the towns around here."

Jordek pipes up "If you want to return any treasures I would suggest pulling it out now while the remaining goblins appear cowed. I don't know where that one guard disappeared to and I'd rather not be here if or when it gets back."

[Jenara]

"Treasure is in hole." Katten directs them to the place she found the loose rug, "Be quick." The money meant little to her, not as much as it meant to the others. "I guard." Passing Earthaniel one of the fallen creatures weapons, she postions herself and her bow facing the direction of the fleeing Goblin guard. Ready to strike.

"Quick." She asserts once again.

Indendien translates the youth's words for Linar, who moves off to the south. The wide bedding area is strewn with belongings, furs and straw; likely where a certain group lived. Poking about at the furs, he finds a few small hidden caches of coins beneath several of them; likely personal stashes belonging to the Chieftan's favorites. All-told there must be over a thousand each of silver and copper...

He finds a substantially larger portion under one particular pallet of furs (possibly belonging to KRAK, which begs the question... where might Krok have hid his if such things were proportionally distributed...)


Katten directs the others to north appears to be an assembly area for meetings. There is a makeshift table with maps tokens and things strewn about. old crumpled parchments or papers lie on the floor which is covered in junk. At her direction, they search beneath the bearskin rug to find a flimsy plank covering a small recess in the stone floor. Beneath they find sacks upon sacks stuffed with what must be thousands of silver and copper coins; probably seized from scores of travelers by the wetrocks tribe...

Before long the group is re-convened in the torchlight.

While Jordek helps out with packing up the wealth he also grabs whatever parchments and documents he can find.

Linar ignores the coppers and tries to fill some sacks (he has four) with silver* before having a look round to check he isn't missing anything significant. [re Observation NWP]

He returns to the group, struggling under the weight of the silver.
"Can someone with more muscle than me haul this coinage, please?"

Linar enlists some help, to which the young teen follows. He helps carry the burgeoning sacks of coin, but stares wide-eyed at the Drow whenever he is able to see him (near the torchlight). Together they sack the found coins.

Jordek moves North and stuffs the remaining parchments and papers into a sack lying on the ground nearby that isnt rotten through. [All told he finds about 4 or 5, most on dingy parchment, but one of good quality paper that is crumbled up]

Nocturno will help carry anything, or supporting Elden. He offers to tie some bags off with rope and sling them over his shoulder.

Katten looks for a suitable bag, filling it with the silver bowl (that she currently carries) and 5lbs of silver (about 500 silver?), throwing it over her shoulder she ushers them quicker, "We have to move quicker, they will return." She moves alongside Earthaniel and Dellinanth wishing Dillosell was with them.

Linar addresses the teen, "I don't bite. The Protector, that is, Corellon Larethian, doesn't allow it." He indicates his holy icon, a Quarter Moon. "And, I think, there's not enough meat on you."

After a pause, he lets out a brief laugh to confirm he was indulging in humour and then adds with a smile, "Seriously though, I thank you for your help with the coins and I thank Corellon for your freedom."

Linar becomes obliquely aware of one of the human females, a tribal woman, drifting closer to the young man with a look of concern. The young man watches Linar warily until he mentions the Patriarch of the Seldarene. Woooow.... that's the father of the Ageless ones!

Linar shows the boy his holy symbol. I didn't know the sunless... I mean... I always heard the shadow-walkers were all evi.. He stops abruptly as the woman latches onto him, a pleading look in her eye as she tries to draw him away a little. What? I was just... The woman speaks to him in an urgent and hushed voice in that primitive human tribal tongue. Suddenly the boy turns pale and he stares back, his mouth working soundlessly. I... uh... I didn't mean to... uh... say.. uhh... offend.. the boy stops moving at the joke about biting, eyes bulging slightly.

The drow's laughter barely snaps him out of the stupor as a nervous chuckle escapes past his shaky smile. The woman laughs nervously too, obviously not understanding anything being said.


The group continue on towards the exit but the boy pipes up again as they move down the long passage northward. Hey wait! If Krak had a bunch of treasure, then maybe Krok did too!

With the additional attention Linar becomes concerned that his indulgence has heightened the others' anxiety and calls on one of the other elves that he arrived with, perjaps Indendien, to explain that he is atypical of his race and does truly follow Corellon and that his appetite for protein is very ordinary and precludes bipedal mammals.
He asks at the end, "What was that about Krok?"

"Krok had treasure?" Katten asks raising one eyebrow, her focus was leaving this place, but it would hurt the creatures... "You know where he might hide those things?" She asks.
