Marie steps behind the screen with a small pin-cushion bracelet made to resemble a beet on one wrist. The seamstress began pinning the garment sections together around Mira, humming as she did so. I didn't see your young man, last night. Was he not feeling well? I should think such a hearty young... specimen wouldn't be hindered much by a simple cold... Surely he would want to see you play... she continues adjusting pins and making marks here and there, fitting the dress to emphasize the bard's bust and hips in a flattering way. Men can be inconsiderate sometimes, but they don't always mean it. They can be so dense... they just don't understand what's really important... she seems sad for a moment and changes the subject marginally.

I bet you have young men throwing themselves at you... I used to be like that, you know... before I settled down... Well when this dress is finished you'll have to beat them off of you with a stick! she laughs as she finishes the marking phase and asks Mira to turn for her. Did you want any other additions before I begin? A hidden pocket or a slit up the leg?

"Yasir, there was an accident and he was injured, he wanted to come..." giggling as Marie tickles her leg she looks down. "I gave him a private show this morning, he enjoyed it." She adds with a wink. "Now what is it with people over the young men in this Town? Everyone is so obsessed with the idea of me stealing them!" Mira announces in frustration, "What good would I have for them? One is enough!" Giggling she admires Marie's work, noting her change in demeanour for a brief moment.

"I can imagine they were, you are pretty and talented, a great combination." Pausing for a moment she places a hand on the girls shoulder, "I had one like that not so long ago, but he was horrible, see he tried to hurt me, so I kicked him out. It lost me a job, a good job, but rather that than face that everyday. As for beating them off.." She giggles to herself. "I will settle with the one I want, that will be fine for me." Suddenly serious she looks at Elsa and back at Marie. "I need friends more than I do men, that's more important." She decides with some assertion.

"Hidden pockets, yes I want one to hide a few... things, the additions to my music require a few items, I'd like to access them, and I want to be able to hide this on my person." She retrieves the dagger in its sheaf, "Not everyone I meet is as nice as you." She giggles and puts it down.

"And yes I want silts up the legs, what's the point of having them if you don't show them off right?" She giggles again and smiles at Elsa, explaining what she said in Common.

The right one is enough... that young fellow you brought in... she pauses, almost shivering in... was it delight? Surely not. Monard used to be like that, you know... Powerful, caring, full of... youthful exhuberance... she practically shivers again apparently just from recollection. Marie stops and looks up quizzically as the bard lays a hand on her shoulder.

Mira's next remarks drain the blood from her face completely, and the seamstress just stares. Finally she shakes her head in denial and spews a flood of words, Why tell me that? I mean, I'm sorry you went through such a thing, but it's got nothing to do with me!?! Ugh, I'm sorry, I know you just meant to unburden yourself. I shouldn't think it's all about me. Ack. I can be so insensitive sometimes, I just can't seem to stop being a self-ce... Marie takes a long, deep breath and blows it out slowly. I'm glad you were able to remove yourself from that. If your new young man doesn't treat you right you just tell me and we'll fix him straight-away. My friend Corienne? She's the one I told you about, the gossip. Anyway, her husband's a seargeant. If that boy don't treat you right we'll fix him! She nods with the finality of a headsman at work.

Friends? Of course! What is life without a few good friends. I can fix up a nice slit that will make that young man's blood boil with passion! she exclaims, ignoring the fact she offered to have him 'dealt with' hardly a moment before. The pocket is no problem, but there are only two good places to hide a dagger on this garment, and really only one if you want the slit higher than the knee... or half-past the knee if you're feeling adventurous.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to burden you with that, I just haven't had many to share with lately, apart from Elsa." She explains not even blushing, "Yes he does get a little carried away, not that i'm complaining of course!" She giggles conspratioraly with Marie, "Its far better than being alone, and I suppose I do bring it on myself.."

"Fix him? Oh Marie, I wouldn't worry. I can take care of myself, I suppose that's what I was trying to explain in my own clumsy way. I hope I'm more eloquent with my music than my words." Brushing it off she smiles. "I wonder what your friend says about me? I appear to be the talk of the town at the moment." Pausing she considers the question of how much leg to show. "I would think half-past the knee, if they are going to talk about me, lets give them something to talk about." Smirking to herself she eases off a little, seeing the light in what is obviously a bright and virbrant woman hurt just a little, but there was little she could do.

Was Monard one of these wolves or just a man who beat his wife? That she couldn't tell.

"I do hope me mentioning you in the show was alright? I wanted to dedicate a song to you.. Many accept me for my music, you talk to me like an equal, I respect that." She looks down a second, "Your work needs to be noticed. I'm off to Skald and I will be telling anyone who asks who made my outfit." She stops. "If you agree?"

Well, you just remember about Jean-Louis if your young man up and changes on you. As for gossip, I wouldn't worry about what Corinne or anyone else says. She's a dear but she'll natter on like a goose just to be talking, and not believing a tenth what she says... that is until she hears it from someone else, and then she'll take it for stone-fact! And nevermind if she started the rumor herself and knows it deep down to be false... but she is a dear and would give someone the shoes off her feet... Marie tsks and shakes her head as she marks the place for the slit, halfway between the front and side of the thigh so it will bare the right leg when Mira walks without exposing too much.

oh think nothing of what you mentioned, they'll never get it from me. The mark for the pouch goes along the shoulder strap, long but shallow, and a little space is allowed near the left leg for the dagger, the cloth there draped differently to disguise the narrow outline of the weapon. Marie blushes when the bard speaks of dedicating a song to her, well, if you want to let people know about the shop I appreciate it. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. She steps back and checks everything over again, nodding in satisfaction. When will you be back from Skald? We'll need to do the final alterations then.

[Jenara]

"This dress is going to be wonderful." Mira gushes, "What do you think Elsa?" She asks doing a little twirl, "I'll remember don't worry. If he's a problem I'll remember him." Giggling she does another twirl her red hair flowing behind her as she laughs

"I think I can trust you." She agrees, "That's why I'm going to tell everyone how great you are!" The thoughts on Skald bring her back to the present. "A week I think. Id prefer it was less, but...." She shrugs.

Wow, that looks really good on you! Yasir's eyes are going to pop out when he sees that. Elsa says with a laugh. Marie smiles at the approval and makes a note, I should easily be done by then, juat stop by when you return and we can do the final alteration in short order.

[Jenara]

"I'll make sure I do. You never know when I come back I might have more money." When Marie is done she carefully removes the parts of the dress with Marie's assistance, and changes back into her own clothes.

(I cant remember, did Mira order a cream dress for Elsa too... ?)

[ooc: You mentioned the cream dress and she took measurements, but nothing has been said about style or design, and you asked her not to say anything in front of Elsa]

Mira strips the muslin pattern carefully away and returns her normal clothing and equipment to its place. Where to next> Elsa asks.

(Funny as Elsa doesn't understand the language.. Lol, she will buy her one when they return).

"The Toad?" Mira suggests, "That Crown is worrying me, a Crown of Soliders? Sounds legit, but this place has left me jaded." Hooking an arm with Elsa she walks, "Thank you for coming in, I know you must have been bored, I wish I had a way for you to understand the language." Pausing she stops looking at the Cleric for a moment. "The dress isn't too much is it? Compared to corset last night?'

(I'm happy to Montage the Toad, she wants to ask if he knows anything of it, or any histories that relate to the Crown).

I don't mind. I think your new dress is very classy. Besides, I have to learn the language somehow. Hearing others speak it seems like the best way. Elsa says as they take their leave and head to the Toad's Toe. Inside they find Pyros, Artanis, Cal and Cross! Well! Afternoon ladies! What can I do for you? Rautant greets them in Elven.

[Ooc: I would, but most of the rest of the party is there now so I'll allow some interaction. Back to the maim thread with ye ]

"Just when you think you have them figured out..." Mira comments as she moves Elsa into the Common room. "And Men say we are difficult to understand." Finding a table she takes a seat and pulls one out for the Hafling, "I'm going to practice a few songs for tonight. See everything you saw last night comes with a price, practice, and lots of it. I guess that's the same as being a Cleric."

(Moving it back here because they are alone again. Silly Pyros)

Practice? Elsa says confusedly, finally snapping out of her mental wandering. Oh. Yes, of course. Rituals, prayers, meditations and all kinds of things like that... she stares off for a moment. I'm sorry, what was the question?

[Jenara]

"Oh Elsa, you are still thinking about Pyros arent you?" Mira reaches over the table and takes Elsa's hands. "He was being a Kender, its what they do my dear, they are silly and fearless and often unreliable.. But then Pyros is actually different to many Kender I've met." She explains, grabbing a waiter when they come over.

"Deux Ales s'il vous plaît" She asks, never letting go of Elsa.

The waiter nods and brings them a pair of ales. It's not that... well, it is but it isn't. she sighs quietly. I just need to get back home. This whole place is so backwards. No priests? No magic? No halflings? And what's a kender anyways! she shakes her head, the questions obviously rhetorical. It doesn't matter. I'm just fooling myself. We just need to find the crown and we can go back home. she brightens a little at the prospect. And you can come with me. Make a name for yourself there. The halflings kind of keep to themselves, but the Sun Kingdom is pretty big and I've always wanted to see more of it. We could go all the way to the coast, across the sun plains, or up to Khaleb's fist in thw Dwarven lands. The Elf cities near my home are fantastic! Houses in the trees and dogs that live longer than people! It's amazing. The cleric seems to have cheered up a little. All we gotta do is find the crown, and that girl said she knew how to find out where to look. We'll have it in no time.
