CH 1: You All Meet in a Tavern

Val quickly scoops out the objects before rising to retrieve her rope and stow it away.

The objects inside the skull consist of five gold pieces and two bronze pieces.

Upon closer inspection, however, the bronze coins are not coins at all, but simple, plain badges.

(OOC: I'll leave it to Nuke to decide whether Val shows the others the badges or not. Jenara, you should stop assuming people will do what you want them to do. It's been my experience that players generally don't like having their hands forced like that.)

OOC: Maybe, but not in front of that birdman

She nonchalantly coils and stows her rope before returning to the group.

"Kek zuko aarakocra," the birdman explains, gesturing to the skulls. "Aarakocra shaka kek." He shakes his head sadly.

The party presses onward, the birdman leading the way. After another couple of hours, the sun starts to set. Soon, night will fall. As they get closer, they hear the sound of water rushing. After a few more minutes of walking, they can see a great ravine from across where they are standing.

"It's...beautiful," Jocelyn says.

The party travels through 1 mile of low mountains on a trail in 2 hours, 24 minutes, using up 2 points of movement. They have 5 points remaining. It is now 8:35 PM.

Random encounter check (1d10): 4, no encounters (oh, so close!)

"We will need to rest soon." Arei comments looking at the Ravine, "And yes it is beautiful."

"We rest, take nap." She says to the birdman, placing her hands to her head and pretends to snore, much like you would show a child. "Koh'kra rest too."

(Is it windy at the ravine's edge)?

It is fairly windy up there, and at this altitude and with the sun going down, the temperature is dropping, as well.

Koh'kra tilts his head and whistles at Areilon. Then he eagerly points down the trail path with both hands, chirping, in response.

[Breila]

Ouragana takes a moment to enjoy the wind, standing near the cliff-edge, opening her arms. Smiling at Koh'kra, she says "Wind", assuming that this would be an important word in an avian society.

Then she follows down the path to hopefully find a resting place.

[Jenara]

"Indeed, that appears to be the right way." she comments following the mage and the birdman down the path.

As they round the bend, a javelin flies down and lands a few feet ahead of the party. Looking up, there are three more birdmen perched higher up on the mountain, each one wearing a large quiver full of javelins.

Koh'kra steps forward and starts squawking at his fellows, which seems to confuse and puzzle them. He then flies up to their perch, about thirty feet up, and starts to converse with them in their native tongue.

[Jenara]

"Weapons away people." the elf orders. "But within reach."

[xelphyn]

Dahn replies with a smirk"Sure thing."
Fist clinched, he ponders the javelin, and fancies it a gift.

[Nuke]

With no place to really put a trident, Val simply carries it with the tip pointed a little down.
