"A treat for the first night of this trip," says Salia. "Lamb, fresh bread, and some of those pastries that Maughus loves. But not until..." The rest of what Salia says is lost on Angel, whose attention is drawn to the rack of lamb roasting over coals in fire pit. Something about the ribs - like the points on a crown, or the uprights on a tent - one of those tents that the officers favored. Round. Or oval, all the same. Needed a bunch of ropes and stakes to hold them up, but they were taller than the tents the legionnares used. You could actually stand up in there.

Angel glances away for a monent, then brings her eyes into focus, looking directly at Salias neck, focusing just below her chin. Her fears confirmed she shakes off the discomfort, what was it? Was it something that surrounded Fraso? Or something that happend to the sweet young girl?

"Salia, could we talk later? Me and you? I'd like to ask you a few things." She asks softly, keeping her eyes focused on one point, using her years of training to concentrate.

Salia replies that she would be happy to talk later. The sound of her voice is pleasant, but Angel finds herself thinking instead of another voice. That of one of her early drill instructors whose small voice did not at all match his hulking frame. Somehow the man could shout at a volume suited for small talk. What was his name? Detitino? Something like that.

Galanis is drawn by the smell of the roasting meat, he asks Bastian tofollow him, continue the discussion near the fire. "That looks great!" he says to Salia as he gets close. Then he notices Angel's concern, and follows her concentrated look on Salia. Seeing nothing special, he looks again at Angel and decides to ask her later if everything is OK.

The meat does indeed smell delicious. Galanis turns his eyes from the grate to the girl and tells her so, and in doing so his eyes cross Angel. He then notices a small spot of rust on the woman's lorica, and wonders if she knows. It's small, still, and roughly in that shape of a fish. And fish have armor too, when you think about it, don't they?

Angel looks over at Galanis, her unspoken "And now you understand." standing between them, "The food sounds delightful, thank you for taking the time, we will talk later." She assures the girl, "I trust you still have that dagger."

Standing she heads over to the horses to check them, "Galanis, perhaps you could aid me a moment." She adds, brushing down Praesul's coat with a far away look.

"Sure thing." Galanis smiles at the girl and walks quickly after Angel. When they gain enough distance from the fire he says, "OK, spill it out. What worries you?"

"You saw it with your own eyes... I do not need to tell you." Seeing his blank look she continues. "When you look at Salia, do you not feel... distracted? Like for a moment she wasn't there?" Cursing under her breath she turns to Fraso, is he still there? Or does she feel.. distracted also?

"I felt it with Fraso so many times, something surrounds him." She blushes. "I have felt myself slipping off."

Fraso, at the moment, is undeniably there. Both Angel and Galanis are able to look at him directly and without distraction.
As to Salia, right now she is standing right there, fishing something out of the fire that might be a potato, and a potato would be delicious with butter. Do you think there's any butter in the wagon? And some salt, because salt is good on potatoes, too.

Angel glances back again to Salia.. A thought I'm the back of her mind was brewing, what if..? She had to talk to Bastian, he might actually know.

Returning to her tasks of setting up the camp she rubs her head, puzzled.

"Hmmm..." Galanis says. He looks at Angel waits a moment, then Frasco, Salia and Angel again. "Oh!! I think you have got something in there! My goodness. When you look at her its hard to concentrate on your own intentions... it seems like mundane thoughts are taking the place of your own...". He shakes his head. "But she seems so innocent. Maybe she is doing it unconsciously. I'll try to check it for a while and report to you. I'll also check if Frasco have similar affect, even that currently I don't sense it. Maybe we should check if it happens also when she is asleep."

"Bastian might know for sure, but when we traveled here I felt something following me, a spirt or a force... Could it have moved to Salia? And its trying to distract us." She murmurs quitely, hoping no one else is listening.. She had to discuss it with Liri too.

Galanis thinks for a moment. Then, "I see. Well, unfortunately my skills in the Art doesn't include divination that might help us right now, but I'll try to check if the phenomenon returns with any of the group members." Galanis says, being serious maybe for the first time since his recruiting.

Liri had been quiet throughout the trip. She enjoyed being on the road again. When they arrived at the villa, she makes sure Casta, her mare, was comfortable. She seeks out Calah. "Would you like to go through a few exercise moves?" she asks the other woman. "I'd like to know your fighting style, and I feel I need the exercise too. I have been paralysed by some strange creature a few days ago, and I don't yet feel completely sure of my limbs again."

"Fair enough," Calah says with a shrug, in response to Liri's question. "What exactly do you have in mind?"
