Darga smiles and thanks Haahqae for his directions, then leaves the gnome to his own business. Wandering away from the stage, he goes to find the innkeeper. He's been unable to find an inn with an empty room for some time now, and even though he's willing to sleep rough outside again, the rain and cold make him particularly eager to find somewhere warm tonight.
"Do ya have any room fer me to sleep tonight?" he asks. After a moment's consideration, he adds, "I got coin to pay," and pats at his belt. He's been mistaken for a vagrant and a refugee before, and he knows that the innkeeper is likely to turn him away if he's mistaken for one tonight.

"When did you start keeping so close track of my schedule?" Kendra asks her father curiously. "But no, I probably won't. I actually have other plans," she stated. "Which is why I came over tonight instead."

Kendra Synclair (2723 Crooked Road, Synclair Residence)
"You're the only source of income for this family, of course I pay attention to your schedule," her father says, frowning. "We'll never make it past winter without you, you know that."
Her mother changes the subject. "Something special planned with Norris tomorrow, maybe?"
Haahqae and Darga (Steel Tankard Inn, Common Room)
The innkeeper looks down at Darga and nods. "If you got the coin, there's still some room left on the floor here in the common room. No more rooms free to offer you, though. You got a sleeping bag? If not, we got some blankets, too."
Coroccoco (Clover Park)
"My clothes?" Daxia asks, confused. She looks down at her fine clothing, as well as her fur cloak. "Oh. Right. I suppose I could dress like a common peasant while I'm in hiding. Ugh, I don't have to smell like one, though, do I? I still have my pride."
She considers Coroccoco's offer. "The problem with setting a trap is I have no idea how many of them there are. Or how many more might show up to replace them. Whoever they are, they are probably top rate assassins, paid very well."

Darga nods at the innkeeper's offer. "The floor'll be fine," he says. "How much does it cost ta stay here?'

"Yeah, you know, you aren't completely helpless," Kendra points out to her father before she turns to her mother. "I'm sure he wants something special, but he isn't going to get it tomorrow. I'm going to help a few others clean up a mine."

Kendra Synclair (2723 Crooked Road, Synclair Residence)
"Kendra, no..," her mother warns, but it's too late.
"What's that supposed to mean?" her father demands angrily. "Why don't you tell me what I should do then, Kendra, since you apparently know best. Nobody will hire a man with one leg, so what exactly is it you think I should be doing?" He slams his fist on the table for emphasis.
Haahqae and Darga (Steel Tankard Inn, Common Room)
"A copper per night to sleep on the floor," the innkeeper says. "Paid in advance."

Darga smiles, relieved, and pulls out one copper piece. After giving it to the innkeeper, he goes back to his table and spends the rest of the evening idly watching the other patrons. When only the overnight boarders remain, he spreads out his bedroll and lays down to sleep, his pack under his head and his walking stick close at hand.

"You don't know that," Kendra says. She was being rather calm about the whole situation. "You still have your hands, and those still work," she points out. "You could start your own little business, carving stuff or building chairs."

Coco fights back a smile by glaring fiercely at the woman. "Many amongst the wanderers lost their pride long ago." She snorts, letting go of the emotion and seeking her calm. "It is possible, then, Daxia Tch that the best you might do is to hide with some acquaintances of mine. First I will need to know what compensation you offer, and the nature of your troubles. You know much of me and as my people say, I will not pluck the rotten tooth from a wolf's mouth without first securing its collar."
She shrugs a little then adds, "Mine are not a gentle people."
EDIT: (color, also I don't want to hold everyone up, I'd be OK with finishing this bit of RP in a rapid-fire way if you would like Jaded)

Kendra Synclair (2723 Crooked Road, Synclair Residence)
Rangle shakes his head. "And where would I get the wood to do this?" he asks. "We can barely afford to buy firewood each week. Shall I hobble out to the forest and collect it myself then?"
Coroccoco (Clover Park)
"Oh, well...I have a little bit of money still," Daxia muses. "Around thirty or forty steel pieces, I think. Is that enough? I can't exactly access my family fortune while I'm on the run. As for my troubles, well...I will tell you more if you agree to help. For now, I'll just say this--a rich and powerful man wants me dead, and is sending assassins to hunt me down. I need to hide until...well, I suppose until I can come up with a plan to stop him for good. If we can do that, well...I can pay you significantly more."
(OOC: Should be able to wrap this up soon...assuming my internet cooperates.)

Kendra stands from where she is sitting, and walks towards the door. "I won't always be able to take of this family," she finally says. "So, maybe it is time for you to start finding other ways to take care of the family."

"As you wish, Daxia Tch. I believe your tale, for the time being." Coco looks around the park in the fading light. "You will not wish to sleep under a hedge I take it, so meet me at 12 River Way come first light. You will meet others and we shall see what we shall see. If you are capable with magics as I have guessed then you will be most welcome."

Kendra storms out of her house, and heads to Norris' place to get some sleep.
Meanwhile, Daxia agrees to meet Coroccoco at Kynaston's house the following morning.
The night passes without incident in the city of Haven. Although in the village of Solace, to the northeast, a group of friends meet up after five years apart. A blue crystal staff is revealed, and they all escape through the kitchen...but that's not important to this story.
The following morning, the clouds are grey and numerous. Although still dry, it's clear it will rain again soon enough.
The owner of the mine sobers up at Kynaston's place and wakes up feeling a massive headache after sleeping in Kynaston's brother's old room. Kynaston himself slept well enough.
Gregeddin, Haahqae, Darga, Coroccoco all wake up and head toward Kynaston's house. Kendra, however, has no idea where the group is meeting, however when she wakes up at Norris'.

Darga arrives at 12 River Way as the sun breaks the horizon--it'd been easier to find than he'd thought. Haahqae had given him a good description of the house, and he'd been in this part of Haven several times before. But more to the point, he does not want to be late. If Haahqae's friends are to give him a chance with this job, he wants to show that he's reliable and dependable. Seeing that he's the first to arrive, he waits at the base of a nearby tree for the others before potentially awakening the owner of the house.
Expecting trouble in the mines (he'd heard that there are demons there, after all!), Darga has donned his sooty leather armor. It's not quite as worn as his usual clothing, but it does look to have seen plenty of use.

Coroccoc wakes well before the appointed meeting time, scrounging in the scraps of the Haven Arms Inn refuse pile for something edible before she begins her meandering morning walk to Kynaston's. Hat tilted low to hide her face, hands tucked into her robe's sleeves, and feet covered with mud and dirt it's difficult to say who or what she is. She hopes the maul attached to her back and her towering height will be enough to dissuade any would-be attackers.
The priestess takes a circuitous route, letting the sleeping city soak into her. She mumbles prayers to Weerschaal as she walks in hopes of an answer, pausing to cursorily wash herself and have a drink from a horse trough.
Nearing the place, she spots Darga standing nearby, easy to pick out in the mostly-empty streets. She approaches him rapidly, stopping within an arm's length of the Gully Dwarf. "What is your purpose here? Another poor soul led by the piper of fools?" She snorts. "I am called Coroccoco, it is fitting that we know each before our end is come."
