Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Galenye cruses as the bear trap digs into her leg once again. Reaching down, she pulls it open once again. She seems to have an easier time this time around than she did the first time.

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Deciding this was an argument that could wait for later, Karathos and Targin move around the bush to witness the duel between Erastin and Erek.
"Like I said, drop it, I will not kill you unless I have to," Erastin announces, ready to strike should the older man refuse.
Erek's face was contorted in rage at the death of his daughter. But that rage melted away before Erastin's eyes. What stood before him now was simply an old man who had lost his daughter. His hand shaking, he slowly opens it, allowing his blade to tumble to the ground at his feet. "I...I yield," he says simply.
Meanwhile, Galeneye manages to pry open the second bear trap, freeing her other leg. She will be limping for awhile now.

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Erastin lowers his blade a touch, reaching out his arm to take the Leaders Weapon. "I accept your surrender, and I am sorry for your loss." He says kindly, "We had no hostile intent." He turns quickly, seeing Galenye, "I know the pain of seeing one you care for hurt, I cannot imagine anything worse."

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Galenye bends her knee a little so that not much of her weight is resting upon her injured leg. "Why did you attack?" she asks.
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"You trespassed," he says. "We were defending our camp. You just walked up to our camp, heavily armed. I assumed you were bandits, come to rob us."
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"I, I." Erastin stammers, taking the mans blade, "We are no bandits." Still holding the mans sword he looks to Galenye, "You should get that leg looked at."
"Katharos, can you watch him, I need to free Galen. Damn traps." He turns, his head low, what had they done? (He doesn't realise they are Bandits, right now he thinks they just killed an innocent)

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"A decent assumption," Galenye says. "But you took on the offensive, which put us on the defense. How do we know you aren't bandits?"
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Targin disarms the sleeping bandits while keeping an eye on Erek. He listens to the conversation, but is deep in his own thoughts.
"Someone give he a hand binding these outlaws?"

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
While Erastin goes to free his horse, Erek turns to Galenye and sneers. "You trespass into our camp, slaughter my daughter...and then have the audacity to call us bandits? Just what do you intend to do with us?"
At Targin's words, the sleeping bandits begin to stir as the magical slumber wears off. The dwarf has no rope, but both Karathos and Galenye do.

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Hey, man, we didn't trespass. We saw you had a camp here, walked up to its borders, and greeted you. Then YOU let your archers attack. So don't put the blame on us, right?" Axes back in his belt, Karathos has his arms crossed so his impressive chest muscles stand out.
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"That's another thing," Erek points out. "You travel with a minotaur. Everyone knows they are marauders and pirates. What was I supposed to think, seeing one of those things approach my camp? Imagine if a bunch of armed strangers walked up to your camp with an ogre!"
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
Karathos just shakes his head and goes to find Jinali and Selowen, telling them the coast is clear. He moves carefully, not to set off any more bear traps.

Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
"Our intention wasn't to kill anyone," Galenye says. "It just...happened that way I'm sad to say. I am sorry for your daughter." With that said, Galenye takes out her rope and limps over to hand it to the dwarf. "This is only for until we leave," she adds to the leader.
Re: CH 3: Trouble Arises
While Erastin attempts to free his horse, Galenye walks over to Targin to loan him her rope and Karathos turns his back on Erek entirely to trek back up to Selowen and Jinali.
He couldn't believe his luck. Was this a trap? Were they really this stupid? Or were the gods looking out for him? In any case, all of the party members had left him completely unguarded.
Whatever the reason, he decides not to question his good fortune. Spinning on his heel, he breaks into a jog, heading south, into the brush.

"Some surrender. Just goes to show a man without honor. Karathos, can you go hunt him down? I know I can't catch him."
Targin continues to tie up the remaining bandits.
