Jerry checks to see if a sling stone rubbed on the side of the bird makes a siggnificant amount of abraision or, indeed, any mark at all.

If the amount of abrasion is insufficient to have any hope of making an entrance way in any reasonable time then, assuming it does leave a visible mark, she tries 'drawing' concentric circles on the side of the bird and writes in capitals "Hit me" underneath it. Then urging Pyros gently round to the other side of the bird (for cover for both of them), she settles to see if that works.

Jerry scrapes the stone over the statue's base, which does little aside from produce a scraping sound and leave a faint mark on the blackened adobe. Seeing that it would likely take days to grind through the hard-baked-clay with a smooth slingstone (if it were possible at all) she instead inscribes a bulls-eye style target on the base and writes "HIT ME" below that.

[there are skeletons evenly spaced across all platforms, so being one one side of the statue vs the other will make little difference in that respect]

If Pyros' face was visible he would be showing a thoroughly confused look. He will follow though, as typical large person logic is confusing.

Jerry takes cover (with Pyros) on the opposite side of the raven from the target.

Down below, Artanis' sharp eyes carch something above. He squints at the statue. Hmmm.. it appears there is a new feature... it's a little faint, but someone has scratched a target on the raven... and the words "Hit Me."

Elsa blinks in confusion, Do... do you think that means us? Adrastia smirks at the skeletons and shifts her ranseur. If it does, we had best be ready... and maybe not so close to the ziggurat.

[sorry for the map size, wanted to show it all without losing too much token detail. 1 square is 10 ft. jerry and pyros have blue borders for invisibility]

Pyros takes a good look around while hiding for some reason.

He will focus on anything unusual.

"I think it's time to use that sling Elsa." Mira comments grimly, catching sight of the target. "A crossbow won't do much and I can't hit an inanimate object with my magic."
"The songbird is not the eagle and the eagle is not the songbird. Mira, you cannot be everything to everyone - if you do, you end up exhausted, slumped against a wall, in the room of someone you don't particularly like." - Artanis Auir

After scoping out what he could see Pyros will work his way into the very bottom of the statue.

Whispering: "So uhm, we are invisible, what are we hiding from?"

"Sling stones," is the whispered reply.

"Oooh from down there." Pyros catches himself before he gets too loud. He points to the group, though no one can see him do so.

Elsa winds up her sling, but Adrestia forestalls her. I don't like this... if we get overwhelmed, we have nowhere to go. She gestures with her polearm to the narrow dead end behind them. You're right. We could line up by the passages to the north, i don't want something unfamiliar behind us. But do we really want to attack this thing with all those skeletons around it? He asks, looking at the massive structure

"Do we really want to be in this valley, surrounded by Skeletons, looking for a Crown that might help us get home?" MIra asks as she moves the group back, "All I can say, is that they wouldn't have asked us to do this, if they weren't sure, besides, have they moved or reacted?"

They certainly reacted to something on the ziggurat, Adrestia replies. If we want to attack the statue, that's fine. But i don't want to do it with my back to a dead-end. All i'm proposing is that we give ourselves a way out if things turn or the worst.

[do the others on the ground agree to move to the northern passage before attacking the statue?]

If there's no missile fire within a count of thirty*, Jerry will have a peek around the statue. If it's obvious that the party are relocating to give themselves an avenue of escape then she will try to (silently as possible) reposition herself and Pyros so that they again have cover from party missile fire.

======
*Half a minute, approx.

Just to check, Jerry has done the "look for secret doors" on a full rotation of the statue and top level of the stepped pyramid, correct?
Did the pair try turning the statue? Or is it obvious that such is beyond their ability?
