Pyros will casually walk away from the door, then if no one is around quickly back to it and unlock it.

Making sure the coast is clear, Pyros turns back and makes short work of the rather standard looking lock. Peeking inside he sees that he stands at the base of a small flight of stairs that ascends sharply eastward into darkness. No windows or ventilation are present, giving the passage a stuffy and confined feeling. The wooden stairs have numerous discolored patches on them, but it is impossible to tell if they come from spilt food, meekulbrau, or blood... A strange feeling, a sense of being out of place, creeps up on the kender as he stands there. Another door stand directly opposite the first; faint sounds of dining can be heard beyond. It seems certain Akriel came this way, though whether she ascended or passed outside is impossible to tell.

He will close the door behind him. Making sure it doesn't lock, if he can. Otherwise he will slip a piece of paper or similar small thin object between the latch and frame to stop it from locking but allowing it to close.

He will creep up the stairs.

He will check the first 3 stairs for traps, then the top two steps for traps, if there is a door at the top that is. Otherwise he will try to stay out of sight at the top.

Find/Remove Traps 65%: [1d100] = 70
Find/Remove Traps 65%: [1d100] = 17
Find/Remove Traps 65%: [1d100] = 91

Pyros shuts the door gently, leaving it unlocked. He then searches quickly for traps (one check can cover the whole first section of stairs) and convinces himself that it is safe. The stairs lead up to a short hallway that dead-ends into yet another door...

He will check the last two steps and the door for traps.

Find/Remove Traps 65%: [1d100] = 3
Find/Remove Traps 65%: [1d100] = 88

Then he will check to see if it is locked.

The door appears neither to be trapped nor locked.

[so far he has been making good time and spent roughly 8 minutes in unlocking/trap checking]

[Are you doing rolls for the time for each inspection?]

Before cracking the door he will listen.

Detect Noise: [1d100] = 26

If no sound evident he will open the door a crack.

Also Find Traps - is that one you normally roll so I don't see what I rolled? I just remembered that.

[I am rolling times, yes. It only needed 1 check for the stairs, 1 for the door, and time to unlock the lower door. Detect noise takes 1 minute. And yes, hide, move silent and find traps the dm should roll; but don't worry about it this time.]

Pyros listens carefully, but doesn't hear anything.

Two tables which are identical to the ones found in the dinning area below fill the center of this room. Many doors, all of light construction, line the walls; likely where the live-in servers and staff stay. The only light comes from two small round windows high in the ceiling at both ends of this area. The position of the sun is such that throws a single shaft of light through the air like a great, gleam sword.

[Aw yeah shadows]

He will just open the door enough to slip on. Staying on the edge of the room as best he can. Slowly making his way around the room. Once fully in he stop and see if anything is on the tables.

Hide and Move Silent please.

Pyros slides in as quiet as a mouse and begins side-stepping along the south wall. A moment later, the northwestern most door opens and someone comes out! She strikes him as the most beautiful woman the Kender has ever seen! And perhaps even more interesting here, she appears to be elven! She stops short, looking around the room. Her gaze lands in his direction, and her eyes narrow as if she were trying to spot him...

Qui est là? She asks the shadows; her voice like silver chimes.

Pyros will hold his breath and try to squeeze back out the door.

As soon as he moves, her eyes go right to him. A single eyebrow raises slightly and a small grin quirks one corner of her mouth. Where did you come from? She asks in elven, with a slightly amused tone.

"Oh uh, I'm just looking for my way back to my table. I'm a bit lost." he will return in elven.

[Was it the non melodic elven?]

[Nope, this was perfectly normal elven.]

The woman gives him a small smile. Well then. That is just where I am going as well. she says, obviously not buying it but amused. Just down the stairs. Shall we? she says, gesturing for him to lead the way back down.

"So uh, what is your name?"
Pyros will start to walk down the stairs, and will head to the table with Cross if allowed.

IF - he hears Mira and Elsa at the door, he will bump it slightly on the way by. If he figures he can do that without the Elf seeing.
