Alright. I'll see what I can get done, I've another order for tomorrow as well. he says gesturi g to the book. Elsa looks at the design next to the spellbook oddly.

"Thank you. If you could tell me how much...?" She asks preparing to leave, when he gives her a cost she nods and heads to the smithy.

"That symbol, I saw you looking at it.?" She asks Elsa as they walk.

A the new scabbard with the detail is 5 gold, and I can probably alter the other one for another gold. He says, smiling. Mira nods and heads off to John’s shop, leaving her regular scabbard behind for the alterations. Once they are out of the house she questions Elsa about the symbol. I’m not sure… it looked really familiar, like I’ve seen it before, but I can’t place it… The women turn East at the intersection where the Jail stands and head down a side street Mira has never used before. A narrow path leads south from here and the side street oddly hooks north before it dead-ends… Looking about she spots The Loop down another side street that branches Eastward… what a confusing area… Suddenly she hears a high-pitched screech like a child screaming coming from beyond the house at the dead-end! Someone is making quite a fuss…

"Bonjour là! Avez-vous besoin d'aide?" She calls in Harmoinan, nudging Elsa she draws the new blade, is the noise coming from the house? Or from the street behind?

[Ooc: I usually do a little something extra for rolls like that, yes. The sound is coming from a yard behind the houses beyond a dead-end.]

Mira listens carefully as she leads Elsa around the building, sword in-hand. The scream is clearly from a girl child who sounds distressed. Rounding the corner she finds a girl of about 8 or so, soaking wet and crying. A young boy about the same age is laughing and holding a bucket that is still dripping water. He goes stark-white when he sees the Bard round the corner with a weapon bared. He bolts around the far side of the house, calling out something in Harmonian that is lost due to the obstruction...

Sheaving her sword in embarrassment Mira blushes and kneels down by the girl, motioning to Elsa to watch her back. "Are you ok sweetie? I'm Mira and I heard you scream. Was he being mean to you?"

The girl scrubs at one eye with the back of her hand and glares at the house where the boy disappeared; somehow pouting at the same time. My brother is such a turd. Can you make him disappear for me Red Lady? Cora says you lead boys away so they get lost in the woods. I don't want him to die... but maybe if he got lost for a couple years...

[Jenara]

"Now, he might be a little Turd, but he is also your family. Family matters. As for me leading the boys away!" She feints shock holding her hand to her heart. "Don't believe everything you hear, I'm just a singer." Trying not to laugh she ruffles her hair and smiles.. "Perhaps my little scare will make him think about being mean again." With that she stands and grins to Elsa.

"She thought I'd lead her brother away." Mira giggles, speaking to the Cleric in common.

The door to the house bursts open and a woman with disheviled hair in an apron comes hustling out, rushing straight for the girl and scooping her up. She didn't hurt you did she? You're safe now, she glares balefully at the bard. Stay. Away. From my kids. I've heard about you gypsy folk. My husband's in the guard. You just watch yourself around here. Good honest folk aren't fooled by your little charms. She seems about to say something regarding Elsa as well, but gives the halfling a closer look. Glaring again at Mira, she turns and bustles back inside.

"I'm a Gypsy Harlot who is here to steal the boys, and a seduce the men." Mira responds to Elsa taking her arm, "I was warned that my cover would cause problems. I appear to be finding out why." Strugging she throws back her red mane and moves away heading to Johns shop. "We should go to the Toad. Ask about this Crown." Her voice wavers, the incident obviously affecting her.

Elsa pats her arm comfortingly as they make their way to John's shop. She's just worried about her daughter being with a stranger. I'm sure it wasn't anything... They reach the shop, but the halfling stops her before they go inside after the last statement. Hey... you ok? Don't let her get to you, Elsa says, squeezing the bard's hand. These people are kind of... they're like... It's like you said, they're afraid of stuff they don't understand. It's irrational and stupid of them. Another squeeze and she looks at the bard. You ok?

Once they go in Mira sees John in the back watching Terry work a length of hit iron and nodding along, making a small comment now and then. He spots the girls as they enter and smiles. He speaks to Elsa cheerfully in a lilting language Mira doesn't recognize before changing to Elven. How are you fine ladies today? What can I do for you?

"Im ok, I just.. All I ever wanted was to play, I'm no supposed to be a role model. She WANTED me to take her Brother away." Shuddering she heads into the smithy.

"Good morning. It's probably nothing but this came my way.. " She unsheaves the blade showing it to Terry, "I wanted some advice, from you or John."

Elsa pats the bards arm again. She laughs at John's greeting and responds in that same lilting language he had used.

Terry blinks when Mira shows him the blade, as much as a declaration of shock from another man. He looks to john, who nods, and he takes the sword to examine it more closely. A couple of quick jabs and skilled swipes away from the others, and a few very light taps with a brass hammer later and he seems satisfied. Old. Good balance, sound metal, solid iron. He takes it over to a short bench behind him and works the edge with a small whetstone, then strops it with a rough looking belt presumably for the purpose before handing it back. John nods at the younger man's assessment. Looks oddly familiar. Where'd you get it?

"There was an incident last night at the Jail, we got roped into helping and I ended up with Bakki's sword." She explains as she returns the sword to its battered scabbard. "He only used this blade so either he was stubborn, or its worth holding onto." She adds with a shrug. "Its a fitting tribute.I feel."

John nods along, giving her a sympathetic look. What happened at the jail?
