(OOC: Will the riddle master help now to figure the riddle?
For all, want to verify the dark substance on the spikes? Probably some poison. If so would you like to gather it? Galan can fly down and get it.)
[As stated previously: Galan can tell that the riddle pertains to areas not yet discovered, so there is little he can devise from it yet.
-the arch mentioned first -may- refer to the misty archway in the hall. The tormentor -may- reder to the fresco of the prison.
The riddle does obviously seem to be a set of instructions or directions]

[the riddle refers mainly to areas not yet discovered; aside from -possibly- the two items mentioned in my last post. Without seeig the new areas the riddle doesnt mean much.
it would be like having a the answer to a question without knowing the question.]

Once everyone gathers Galan says, "Well, check the chest for traps and lets see if there is a way to open it. From the sentence 'Shun green if you can. but night's good color' I would assume we should go to the arch with the vapor. Not sure why it says 'Go back'... maybe going backward to protect the eyes from what comes after the vapor? Anyway, we are promised more pits and checking the walls for keys, either literal keys or important items..."
Galan waits for the trap finders to work their magic.

Is there an executioner or Torture master in the fresco?

There is a fresco of a torture chamber with a painting of an iron door which evidently confines some sort of a horrid creature (its taloned and scaled hands grasp the bars of its small window) which can be loosed to torment prisoners.

Tabbi and Zafron will continue to study the archway and green devil. What can they make out. They will look up down and around.
What color is the mist?
"The arch from the riddle might be this arch. If we enter it we might go to the great hall." "Shun green might be a reference to this green devil." "Not sure what night's good color is for those of great value means."

Tabbi and Zafron approach the Devil mouth and the Archway. The mist bears the natural color of fog, yet swirls and tumbles within the portal in a most unnatural way. As one approaches within 1 foot of the arch, the keystone (top) and the two stones at the base of each side of the arch begin to glow with a magical light...
[Left: glows Yellow, Right: glows Orange, Top/Key: glows Blue]
The devil mouth appears to be wrought from a single piece of stone and worked smooth where there is not artistic detail. Even at a pace away the darkness within the wide-opened mouth is absolute, perhaps magically dark.

"The night color reference might be the mouth of the devil." Galan mentions. "Wow! It seems our host prepares us for a party with this rainbow illumination." Galan says.
"The only mention of these colors is red: 'If shades of red stand for blood the wise; will not need sacrifice aught but a loop of; magical metal - you're well along your march.' so maybe we need to touch the red stone with some magical weapon, make a circle... And it was said that to avoid the pits we need to check the walls and find important keys, so let's give another scan for the this corridor walls please."

Van pointed it out. He is not the investigator.

Hearing the desire and further rationale to checking the walls, Bryce agrees and starts at the beginning of the hall and slowly moves his way towards the end giving the walls a good eyeballing as he goes. He is searching for anything physical (ie. seams) on/in the walls, hidden within the frescoes or otherwise. He will start with the side that has the box on the wall.

Since Van is inside now he will help his brother. Checking the best around this "tormentor".

The pair begin to check the walls, but find no seams in the smooth but paint-infused plaster. Bryce does notice a fairly obvious poison-needle trap on the catch for the chest jutting out of the wall. something that could easily be bypassed by pressing the catch with a dagger pommel rather than a finger.
