Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
"Pen!" Kendra calls out to him, motioning with her finger for him to come towards her. She didn't need to tell the whole crowd what was going on.
Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
"Well, maybe we'll find something inside. Want to try?" asks Shima.
Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
Haahqae will listen at the doors to the west; and if he doesn't hear anything; he'll (slowly) open the door and look in.

Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
Sure. Can you use either of these? he asks, offering the club or stones. Or what type of weapons do you use? maybe I can find something else if I know what to look for.
[Can Gobax make a second wis check to find something suitable for Shima, or is this place pretty much devoid of usable stuff now?]

Haahqae (Prefect's Mansion)
Listening at the west doors, Haahqae hears nothing. Opening them up, he finds the guest wing. The Trade Guild members are being held here. There are five baaz guards that patrol the area, mostly looking bored. To the north is a door that leads to the green house, a hallway leading to the library (with two doors on the left and two on the right), and a door to the north of him, near two baaz that are playing dice out of boredom.
(Haahqae makes a Detect Noise check [DN 25%] (1d100): 87, fail.)
Kendra Synclair (Grand Market)
Pen approaches her cautiously. "That's...some uniform you got there," he notes. Looking over at the construction work, he asks, "What's going on?"
Gobax and Shima (Warehouse)
(OOC: Yeah, you found everything you could. Another roll wouldn't help any.)

Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
Gobax offers Shima a choice of the improvised club or sling stones.
Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
"Which ever you're less good with, I think," replies Shima.
He lets Gobax choose, and then equips what's left and heads off into the sewers.

Tulbas was expecting a different reaction, but when he is called 'magus' he finds himself excited. He bows his head to Ladonna, accepts the dagger and appreciates it's decoration. Then collects the black robes and looks at Magnus expectantly.

Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
Kendra looks down at her armor, and sighs softly. "Yeah," she says. She doesn't exactly seem thrilled with wearing it. "Um, they are preparing for the execution of the person that has been causing all trouble around here lately."
Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
Kendra Synclair (Grand Market)
"Execution?" Pen repeats, a bit surprised. "I thought they just rounded people up and shipped them off to some slave mine. Now they're publicly killing them? This sounds pretty bad."
Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
Magnus wears a smug look, reminding Tulbas of a cat that is about to catch a mouse. "This way," he says, gesturing. He leads Tulbas back to the room he was staying in, which is still quite intact despite how it looked during his Test. Indeed, there is no sign of damage or battle in the halls as they walk down them.
Gobax and Shima (Warehouse)
The two descend into the darkness, which fortunately their innate infravision helps negate. At the bottom of the ladder is a wooden platform that is serving as a bridge over a river of sludge. The smell is atrocious, even by goblin standards. There is a locked gate to the west and a passageway to the south. It's a bit chilly down there, as winter is approaching and there's no sunlight to help mitigate the cold. Old, rusty pipes creak above and around them as they move further in.

Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
"This case is a little different," Kendra points out. She glances around for a moment, and lowers her voice so that only Pen can really hear her. "He harmed innocent people because of his hate for the army," she explains. "There are other ways to get at the army without harming the innocent people of Haven, but he showed no regard for them at all."
Re: CH. 14: Darkest Hour
The inner row of “cells” turns out to be just a single room eith a few beds in it; possibly for the baaz guards. Regardless, Ismene isn’t in it so it’s not all that interesting. The baaz guards appear to be little threat to someone who’s invisible. So far; the big dumb oafs seem to be completely incompetent when it comes to fighting something they can’t see. However; they’re pretty good at not dying and instead calling on forces who can actually be a threat; so Haahqae makes sure they don’t hear him as he creeps past to continue his investigation.
The greenhouse doesn’t seem to interesting; it’s just a few plants and not very prison-like; so Haahqae takes his chances in the hallway to the library. There are three doors here worth checking out. So he will do this; one at a time; being careful to be cautious; making sure to not open a door if he hears something dangerous when he listens at it; making sure not to open a door when someone’s looking; and peeking inside before entering a room.
(I’ll start with checking the door to the west)

Shima taps Gobax gently on the right shoulder and point suggestively at the door just to the right.

Haahqae (Prefect's Mansion)
Haahqae starts checking the doors, waiting until nobody is watching, them opening them and peeking within. The first door to the west is another guest room, although this one is unoccupied. First door to the east is the same. Second door to the west is locked. The second door to the east is a large bathing area. It is currently not in use and there is another door on the other side of the room. It must be nice to be prefect; his bathing room is bigger than Haahqae's inn room. Kendra Synclair (Grand Market)
"Hmmm...is that really okay, though?" Pen asks, crossing his arms in thought. "Shouldn't he at least get a trial? Hmm, but nobody has said anything, either. Why aren't they telling anyone what's going on? Don't they want to draw a big crowd?"
