Merrick doesn't live at the inn and doesn't have a house. He rents a very small room from a family with a spare room. Also, moving in with someone after 1 day is weird. Merrick can choose whether it's his room or her room. - She still doesn't see why they can't move in together and save money, but she's not going to push the point.
