"Illusions for a tale..?" Mira comments as she comes up behind the two of them. "Interestimg indeed. But yes magic is treated with suspicion, not as much as healing." Wrapping an arm round Elsa she checks the surroundings.

"I was going to the Harmonic Hall, then we were researching that book..? I dont want to intrude but are you still happy to help Cross?"

Artanis, Cal, Pyros and Yasir: Down by the Riverside
Artanis guides the Gnome’s technique, slowly winding the line and moving with the sharp angles the catch takes upstream and down. It takes several minutes of intense struggle, but eventually Cal hauls up a large, scale-less fish with long whiskers around its mouth… it’s a Catfish! The thing is nearly two feet long! No wonder the inexperienced, roguish Gnome had trouble hauling it out!

Cross, Elsa and Mira: The Loop
Wow! That’s so neat that you worked in the circus! I guess different places don’t like magic. Oh, hey Mira! She greets the Bard. I’ll go with you to the Hall and everything. Cross, you should come too! He’s been telling me a little more about himself. I guess we all have a lot to learn about each other, huh?

They continue to chat as they walk the Loop around to the Harmonic Hall. Along the way they pass several shops and homes. One in particular that catches their eye is a triangular affair with several finely crafted instruments hanging in the glass display. South Hill rises up to the east, proudly supporting massive mansions and manor-houses, every one with a red-tiled roof rather than the common local thatch. The road bends north before the hill and the newcomers are once again struck by the beauty of the Cliffside, the park and the Amphitheater. Only a few people mill about in the late, windy morning.

"What an ugly creature, it's a good thing you caught it. Quick put it out of it's misery." Cheers Yasir from the sidelines, standing by his own rod but paying little attention.

"Guillam is more accepting than most. Perhaps we might ask." Moving to the boards Mira checks for spots next festival, putting down her name if there is one. Before enterting the hall. Looking for Verrell Brodeur..

Before anyone can react Pyros will pull out this dagger and chop the head off.

"That's the spirit Pyros! Strike before it strikes us." says Yasir as he taps his boot against the fish head. "Artanis, you fish? What's Cals next step."

Artanis, Cal, Pyros and Yasir: Down by the Riverside
The Kender and the warrior both remark on how unpleasant looking the fish is while Cal looks at the thing dumbfounded for what to do next. Yasir calls for an execution, and before anyone can react Pyros lunges forward with inhuman quickness and precision [dex 19 and a crit… good lord…] and beheads the thing with one swipe of his blade. The body flops around in the grass, and nearly goes back over the edge into the water! Cal lowers the pole now that the fish has been removed, and the burly human pokes the head with his boot. Artanis, you fish? What’s Cal’s next step?”

Cross, Elsa and Mira: The Loop
Before entering The Hall Mira makes a detour to the Silver scale, which takes close to a half hour to get there and back. Along the way Elsa keeps up the conversation with Cross. I’d like to hear it sometime! That would be fun! Maybe you can perform for us on our way to Skald? Mira sometimes does magic tricks like that too when she plays. I think it really enhances the experience!

Once the trio returns the Bard looks about for Verrel Brodeur, the woman Elsa met the last time she came here with Mira. The woman is nowhere to be found, so they enter through the main doors and Mira takes a quick turn to check out the message boards. There is a single spot open for the festival next weekend, and several people have already put their names in for consideration.

Artanis Auir

Artanis laughs at the antics of Pyros and Cal - not the prototypical way of handling a landed fish, but much more entertaining. He smiles and resumes his reclining position, with pole propped up by the rocks. He pulls the hat over his eyes (not really) kicks back, smiles and says:

"Why you have to gut it now! Start from the near the tail fin, and carefully slit it open. Then pull out the innards - which you can also use for bait or feed the buzzards with. Pyros is so skilled with his knife he'll have that thing gutted in no time. Then carefully wash it off in the water. As for cooking it, you may want to ask them at the inn later to see if they'll cook it for you. Beer batter dipped and pan fried would be a good choice. But I'm certainly no cook."

Artanis will help them out if need be, but he sees that Cal and Pyros are enjoying themselves and he wants them to continue doing so.

Mira carefully writes "The Red Gypsy" on the sheet for consideration, adding Mira next to it, before looking around, of course, people would rest after the festival.

She waits for a few moments before shrugging and heading to Toads Toe.

"I'll catch up with them later, they will be at the show, so I can talk to them then" she explains, listening to Cross with interest.

"That sounds kinda gross, but We gotta eat! Want me to gut em?" he will look at Cal

[OoC: Oh dear lol I might dice it up, if Cal wants Pyros to gut it, a roll for whatever skill you want.]

Cal hands the fish to Pyros, looking a little green at the gutting it part. He offers some of the guts to McWhiskers.
