Tulbas closes his eyes and continue resting. Just looking around made him exhausted.

Seeing the spellcaster fall, Arulia sizes up her remaining options. Felran had beaten her to the attack on the woman anyway, and he's still blocking the way. On the far side of the spellcaster's body, however, Ismene has taken a serious wound from the snake-person that remains. Knowing that her wound could be life-threatening, Arulia begins to pick her way through the puddle of grease on the floor. Though her intent is to make it to Ismene's side, she keeps her mace and shield at the ready in case she has to fight the snake-person before she can see to the gnome's wounds.

Haahqae, Arulia, Gobax, Felran and Ne-Chanz (Deserted Building)
(OOC: Just waiting on spyguy for this round.

TristenC wrote:[OOC: Just want to check, who all has been injured? Ne-Chanz, Xyleena and the gnomes? Anyone else?]

Arulia took an arrow, as well.)

Kendra Greylock (Haven's Vale)
"Good job, crew," Krup says. "Anyone else take any injuries?"

Slinn shrugs. "Nothing serious."

"Good. We should keep an eye out in case they decide to come back. Or something else, for that matter," Krup adds. "Greylock, you have point again."

Kendra Greylock (Haven's Vale)
The group continues on for awhile, before they come across what appears to be a site of a battle. There's a large blood stain on the ground, easily seen as it contrasts with the white frost on everything else.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" asks Krup, kneeling to examine the blood stain. "Doesn't look too old. A day, maybe."

"Elves?" asks Slinn.

Krup shrugs. "Maybe. Maybe wild animals or something else. Still, it's something." He stands up and dusts himself off. "Alright, fan out and look for any clues. Keep an eye out, though."

Kendra fans out like she is told, heading down closer to the river to look for clues. ~I hope they are okay,~ she thought to herself. It was possible that it was animals, but she knew better.

Haahqae, Arulia, Gobax, Felran and Ne-Chanz (Deserted Building)
Felran pauses in the heat of battle to kneel down by the fallen mage and wipe off his sword on her robes.

Meanwhile, Arulia tries to make her way through the grease to reach Ismene, but she immediately slips and falls on her rump.

Gobax starts to bandage up Xyleena while Pen moves around the fallen cultist to slash at the Histachii with his long sword. While the creature is distracted, Ismene squeaks and pulls up her hood again, vanishing from sight. Yvette fires a crossbow bolt into the histachii, wounding it further. But it does not relent. It begins slashing and biting wildly at the air where Ismene had been standing. This gives Haahqae the chance to shoot it with his bow. He then hurries over, sliding in the grease but staying on his feet.

A moment later, the grease suddenly vanishes into thin air, allowing Arulia to get back to her feet, as well.

Kendra Greylock (Haven's Vale)
Kendra searches around for any clues as to what might have happened here. She finds a broken arrow near the riverbed. It's just the tail end, but it's clearly of elvish make.

Well, that could have gone better... Ismene, if you'll drop the invisibility one of us can patch you up. Haahque, will you and Gregeddin listen at the door to see if any reinforcements are coming? 'Gobax' will begin patching up the gnome when she appears.

Haahqae's graceful slide towards Ismene encounters a couple of problems. First off his target disappears, which leaves him sliding with no target. The soon after the grease disappears, leaving him more stumbling with no target. However it doesn't take too long for Haahqae to sort things out and come up with a new plan. that plan, it appears is to talk to everyone.

"Well that was a little more nasty then I was expecting our first combat to be, some of them seem to be crack shots while they use magic to hide traps, very interesting. I'll be on extra careful look out for those things next time, although if they're magic, it's going to be hard to tell. Anyways, good work there everyone, we were caught a little off guard by their villainous traps, but we still managed to pull through with just a few scrapes to remind us of what we can do better next time. Next time might come very soon, so let us venture forth and rescue Tulbas with all due caution."

Haahqae, Arulia, Gobax, Felran and Ne-Chanz (Deserted Building)
Ismene drops her hood, which reveals her presence once again. Gobax uses a bandage to try and cover up the claw marks she took, applying a poultice to help speed up the healing. She silently nods her thanks when he is finished.

"That wasn't so tough," Pen comments. "Although where did that grease come from? And why did it just vanish like that? Look." He stomps on the ground. "Not even any residue left behind."

Gregeddin comes downstairs. "Well done, well done all," he says. "Truly you are a force to be reckoned with. But remember, the battle is far from over yet." He goes to listen at the door, then shakes his head. "All quiet on the other side. It appears to be locked, however."

While all of this is going on, Yvette and Xyleena have been busy searching the bodies of the cultists. "Here's a key," Yvette says, lifting it from Leota. "Nothing else, though." Pouting, she kicks at the body. "They must keep their coin elsewhere." She tosses the key to Gregeddin.

===========

Gobax makes a healing check on Ismene [TN 14] (1d20): 1, pass. He restores (1d3): 2 HP and consumes one bandage. Ismene's condition improves from seriously wounded to moderately wounded.
Gregeddin makes a Detect Noise check at the door [TN 20%] (1d100): 36, fail.

Kendra Greylock (Haven's Vale)
"Hey, Greylock!" Krup calls, motioning for her to return along with the others. "Find anything? What about the rest of you?" he asks as the group re-converges.

Everyone stay ready. They may be waiting on us, they could have heard the battle here. If you are injured badly, stay in the back. Arulia, you should patch yourself up a bit. I'll do what I can for Ne-Chanz. Let's wait until everyone is seen to before we try to move on, we may not have time to later. 'Gobax' applies his healing to the minotaur. Haahque, maybe you should listen at the door too... but don't open it yet!

Arulia nods at Gobax's suggestion and regards the arrow in her shoulder. It's not like she's never done this before--though not a common occurrence, every so often a guardsman or woman would get shot with an arrow, and oftentimes, Arulia would be the one called to pull it out if the wound wasn't fatal. But she's never done it to herself. Given the position of the arrow, she can't get a good look at it, but it doesn't look too deep. With a deep breath, she pulls it out as cleanly as she can manage--and all but faints from the pain. With her head spinning, she blinks back tears and presses a bandage to the wound.

(OOC: Arulia attempts a heal check to at the very least not lose more hit points from removing the arrow.)
