Gallath spends the next hour searching the entire room thoroughly. He finds no secret doors. He does, however, find a trap on the doors. The doors are not only locked, but armed with a trap designed to impale any unauthorized intruders on metal spikes that will shoot out of the floor and ceiling.

"Why would they go wandering off on their own?" Jocelyn asks. "And if no one can see them, that pretty much means they are safe from enemies since they won't be able to see them either."

"Don't touch that door!" Gallath attempts to disable the trap, standing ready to dodge if something goes wrong.

"Let me take a look." Dahn says while standing right behind Baeros, " I won't be touching anything unless I know for certain I can handle it safely ,though."

Ouragana wanders over to the boarded-up windows. Do some of the boards look like they could be taken off easily?

Gallath carefully examines the trap, but is unable to find a way to safely disarm it. It's simply beyond his ability.
Baeros can hear Granite speaking behind him, but is unable to see the gnome.
Ouragana looks at the boarded up windows. A board could be removed with the right tool--the back of a hammer or perhaps a crowbar, as the boards are nailed into the frame.

"I can try and remove the traps but I doubt my luck would be much better."

"Hmm... Let Granite move through. Carefully. Where are you anyway?" Baeros tries to move aside but his foot is uncertain. He quickly tells Ouragana, "Stay away from the trapped door" and then looks at Jocelyn rolls his eyes and gestures to where he stood before... "See what I mean? It was hard enough to keep track of them running all around when we *could* see them. Now it is an impossible mission!"

"I'm right here, relax, you don't need to worry about where we are, only that we're here."
If Dahn can disable the trap, he does so, if not, he tries to fihure out what kind of trap it is, and says to the group: " If we can't disarm it, maybe we can spring it- from a safe distance."

"Well, someone should do
something," Brock complains. "Otherwise, we're unable to continue. Better to at least try then just give up and go home."
Although nobody can see the gnome, they hear him tinkering with the trap. The doors are not only locked, but armed with a trap designed to impale any unauthorized intruders on metal spikes that will shoot out of the floor and ceiling. However, like Gallath, he finds it's beyond his ability.

"Is there a way to set off the trap without actually getting hurt?" Jocelyn asks.

"I don't know." Dahn says investigating the rest of the room" Blow it up?"
"Hey if the oni have regenerative properties, why did so many die?"

*Drav makes an attempt at trying to disable the lock...*
(OOC: I swear, if things shoot out and I get one shot RIP'd, I'm gonna be upset.)

"That's a good question," says Thaddeus' disembodied voice to Granite. "As we saw in the battle with the trolls, there are some kinds of damage that negate regeneration, such as fire and acid. Also, it's possible they were damaged so savagely that their regeneration wasn't able to compensate fast enough."
Drav takes his turn at the trap, and he comes dangerously close to accidentally triggering it, but thankfully does not. Astoundingly, he is stumped, as well.
At this point, they can try blasting the door open or attemp to trigger the trap and hope they don't get hit by it.

Drav makes a Remove Trap check [35] (
1d100): 94, fail.
(OOC: If someone triggers the trap deliberately but makes a successful RSW save, they avoid the damage entirely. If they fail the save, they take full damage.)

"You are useless!" Baeros proclaims his charm at its peak. "Can you at least understand where these spikes are located and where exactly is the trigger? Is it the door handle or the lock or just a board or a stone on the floor? If you can give me a hint I might avoid damage myself while you all hide behind me."
