"Andar, could you take the lock box? we'll put the bedroll on Thunder, and yes the pot too." Arei responds.

Ouragana holds thunder's rein while he is loaded, she is impatient to go on.

Andar accepts the lockbox with some reverence. "I've never seen so much money before in all of my life," he admits.

With nothing further to do for the poor woman, the party presses on. Seven hours later, the party makes camp at the side of the trail. The sun is starting to set. Andar gets a fire going, and Thunder is tied off to a nearby tree and has his saddle and gear removed.

==============

Andar adds a lockbox (with 500 PP) to his inventory.
Thunder adds an iron pot and a bedroll to his inventory.

It is now 7:00 PM.

(OOC: If you guys want to do anything before the watches start, let me know. This includes hunting, foraging, reading that journal, whatever.)

"Which is why I trust you with it." Arei smiles widely, "Watch it carefully.. And we will find who it belongs to."

Jocelyn starts to set up her place of sleeping for the night. "Now would be a good time to hunt," she suggests.

Ouragana helps settin gup the camp. Then she sits on her bedroll (after casting the bug protection cantrips if necessary) and says: "I'll be of no use unting, so I start reading this" as she holds up the journal. "Hopefully, it will tell us who the woman is and what she was doing on the trail."

ouragana will first browse to see what kind of journal it is, then start reading the most promising part.

While the rest of the party prepares the camp, Ouragana sits and reads the journal while Baeros and Takit go off to hunt.

An hour later, Baeros and Takit return, empty-handed. The only animals they found were already dead, and likewise covered in red welts like the corpse of the woman they encountered earlier that day. It appears the party will be eating rations for dinner again tonight.

===========

Baeros makes a hunting check with the aid of Takit [13+2] (1d20): 17, fail. No game is found.

It is now 8:00 PM.

(OOC: I've PM'd the summary of the journal to Breila.)

"That's very bad news, that other living beings have been killed like this woman, and as far away as here" Ouragana comments Bearos's report. "We must be very careful during our watches tonight. Please alert everyone as soon as you see or hear something out of the ordinary."
She adds: "The elven woman's name was Ama, and she was bound from Tu'Valie to Condletun with two bodyguards, both of whom she presumes to be dead. One just disappeared, one stayed behind to fend off tasloi and never rejoined her. She seemed unaware of the danger that finally killed her, so we have no clue to that."

"Could you set up.some sort of... trigger?" Arei asks as she sits down, "Its some sort of bug, probably something like the bug the frogs ate.."

Placing her crossbow by her she rubs her chin. "The web you can make Oura, could it be bended between trees?"

"It might be a waste to use her spells," Jocelyn says. "Let's just keep watch, like we always do, and wake everyone up if something happens."

"I guess I could use cantrips to make a few strands between the trees, but I don't know how much use they will be. The bugs might be able to avoid them." Ouragana answers. "But you know what I'm happy about? That Jocelyn can make water for us. These strange welts may have been caused by a disease, and I've heard that diseases can spread by water. Ama could have picked it up here and then carried on until she died."

Over the next hour, the party eats dinner--dry rations--except for Takit and Thunder, of course, who must go without for now. As promised, Baeros shares some of his rations with Val. Both Jocelyn and Areilon realize that their own rations will probably only last another day or two, at most.

The watches pass without incident. Once again, Ouragana uses her cantrips to keep the insects away from herself and Jocelyn. Jocelyn wakes up feeling better that she has since leaving Condletun. The sleeping bag really helped, even if it smells kind of funny. Val, on the other hand, is the one now starting to feel rather stiff in the back and shoulders. She also finds herself covered in bugbites; apparently since they cannot feast on Jocelyn, they've chosen Val instead.

It's slightly cooler this morning than it was yesterday. It's also very cloudy. There may be more rain in the future. Indeed, faint thunder is heard off in the distance and a breeze has picked up.

Jocelyn creates water, and thanks to the iron pot they found, none of it goes to waste this time. The party wolfs down breakfast (rations again) quickly, to beat the rain. Baeros shares with Val again, and now both of them are officially out of food.

Once breakfast is over, the party breaks down camp and prepares to head out. Sure enough, shortly after they get started, it begins to pour again.

"We need more rations.." Arei frowns, "Oura, have you ever used your magic to... wash people?" She asks watching the rain, "I need to change, Val, could you help me?" She offers Andar a little wink as she turns to the Orc.

Ouragana looks puzzled at Arei's question. "Well, no..." she answers. "There has always been enough water to wash where I was."
