"We're inside, silly.", Thema nudges Eloise with a gentle shoulder, "I'm joking." Giving the girl a smile to ward off any glare even if nobody can see it, she quickly says as they stand in the darkness, "Thinking and planning should be part of the plan, and the light would really help."

"Perhaps we should open a window? Or look for a torch?" she suggests with a slightly harder nudge back..

"Saul speaks the truth. Taking off without a plan is more dangerous than facing dozen foes. And we can not protect you if we can not get to you. So, please, ladies, do not run off again.

"This trap door might be interesting, but is there any indication it will lead to the tower? If not, I suggest we look for a surface route."

"Its like this: We needed to get in, we were finding one, that was the plan." Eloise says with a stern glance. "We can do it your way if you like."

Matthias pokes around the cellar a bit, muttering to himself in the low light, looking for anything they might be able to use as torch or a source of light such as a lantern or candle.

(You're on the ground floor, I don't think Matthias opened the trap door and went down)
The only thing Matthias finds are the stands in the middle of the room, they are made of wood, and it would not be possible to break them down without considerable noise. There's a chest standing next to the wall between two doors, however.

(Ah right, we certainly didn't. For some reason I was picturing them in a cellar none the less ^^;)

Ever-curious, Matthias attempts to open the chest without any thought for it being trapped or the fact that the hinges might squeal as they're opened.

Matthias is lucky, the chest isn't trapped. The hinges don't squeak either, but the wood creaks because it's partially rotten and the hinges break out instead of opening. With quite some noise, the lid of the chest disintegrates.

"Just great." Eloise hisses, "Stupid men." spinning on her heels she shakes her head.

Dale grins and says. "At times, call it a trade off for running off alone in this place."

"We ran off to help!" She protests, "Fine, what's in the chest?" pushing the man aside she looks inside the now broken chest.

The broken chest is empty. It was probably left when the rest of the building got cleared out because it was not in a good condition. Some of the wood is rotten enough to serve as tinder, the rest of the lid could be fashioned into crude torches.

"Who has a flint and steel?" She asks, looking at the men, "I guess we could make torches from this?"

Matthias, who had slunk sheepishly away from the chest, digs in a pocket for his flint and steel. "I am never without them! A fire often means the difference between life and death in the cold of the forest at night." The apothecary looks about for bits of cloth or rope or twine, something to bind the wood together.

Saul is at a loss for words. Instead he simply focuses a level gaze on Christopher, hoping to silently relay his unspoken consternation.
