Ahhh No, I might write that sort of stuff elsewhere, but it won't happen here, most you will get from me is cleavage or the occasional hand holding.. maybe a kiss..
JadedDM wrote:(OOC: That's not going to happen!

I'm not even really sure where this scene is going, actually.)
Agreed totally Jaded, I am just seeing where it might go, she will no doubt end up sleeping on a floor somewhere... She is not that type of Girl.

What I meant, when I said I wasn't sure where this scene was going, is I'm not clear what you (or Areilon) is trying to get out of it. You've made it clear she has no interest in sleeping with Hubert or in selling him the carving, so...what exactly was the point of this whole, extended scene? What was her motivation in all of this?

Two fold, she was trying to get to know him, and I was trying to get to know her as a Character, I need to know her to play her.
Arei was not trying to lead him on, she was trying to find her way in the world. And has been mis-understood.

Once Dahn and Areilon are done, we'll move on to the next day and the next chapter, I'll calculate XP, and so forth.
In the meantime, care to brainstorm on what the party is going to do tomorrow? It'll help me out if I have some idea on what their next step is going to be, as a group or individually.

Jocelyn will wake up and talk to the innkeeper about other quests that she might be able to do.

No problem. All of the quests that were available the previous day will still be available the next day. And you got a good reaction to the bartender, so you're probably the best candidate to speak to him anyway.
And the rest of you? Any plans that I should know about, so I can prep properly?

Okay, that wraps up the first chapter. I'll get XP calculated and posted soon, as well as my own thoughts of that chapter--and get the new chapter up.
But in the meantime, any feedback, thoughts, opinions, etc.? As this is my homebrewed game (and not a module), I'm very interested in any kind of feedback on how things are going for you all so far. Are you all having fun? That's the most important thing.

There is the thing with the wardens. And deciding on what to do with that prize.

Going good. As far as the sandbox goes, I have no current plans.

Second that.
And find something else to do..
1,200 Gold is still a pretty good sum, 240 gold each... BUT perhaps we should take 200 each and donate 200 to the farmers, as a good will gesture to pay for the lost cattle? (as it was a peace offering to the village)
Arei really needs to find a ship, at some point too...

If some of you pooled your money, you could probably buy a very small ship, like a curragh.

Here are my thoughts on the session.
Well, as I said before, this game is a sandbox, so what direction the game goes is mainly up to the players. I had five quests ready in the inn when you all first arrived, but the group only found and took the one.
The quest you guys did accept, which I called in my notes "No Scarecrows," was one I was particularly proud of. I liked it because it was a good way to test the party's diplomacy and ethics. Would they slaughter the Aarakocra, as that was what they were hired to do? Or would they seek another solution? I also just really like the Aarakocra as a race. They're really neat.
The battle with the jaguar was sort of their first test. Had they killed Koh'kra (or allowed him to be killed by the jaguar), there would have been nobody to speak for them when the party reached the nest. They likely would have had to fight their way in, killing everyone.
Speaking of the jaguar, I divided its XP between the six of you (the party and Koh'kra) since he helped. So it's a little less than it would have been otherwise.
The decision to make the Aarakocra chieftain a woman was on a whim. The Monster Manual actually specifies that the chieftain is always male, but for the life of me, I couldn't imagine any reason why the Aarakocra would be patriarchal.
I actually rolled up Hubert on the spot. All I knew beforehand was that he was a jeweler and a gnome (I actually determined that a jeweler lived in town, and by random chance, when I rolled to see who was in the inn that night, he came up). I rolled up his personality, and wouldn't you know it? Not only did I get traits like 'lusty' and 'boorish' but I got an amazing roll on his reaction toward Areilon. Because he liked her so much, I was willing to let him pay up to 1,500 GP for the item (it was only worth 1,300 GP), but after she upset him, he now isn't willing to go any higher than 1,200 GP. Ah, well.
The party earned 500 XP each for peacefully completing the quest. Had you taken the violent route, it would have been half of that.
And some thoughts for each of you.
Horizon
Well, you were present for the beginning and the end, but missed the entirety of the middle. It couldn't be helped, I know. Hopefully, you can get better acquainted with the rest of the group on the next quest.
Breila
Aww, you didn't actually cast any spells on this adventure. I even added a small cliff on the trail, so you'd have an excuse to use your Jump spell. Oh, well. Maybe next time. I did give you a little XP for your conversation with Jocelyn at the inn, since you talked about your past a bit.
Jenara
Your idea to use fire to scare off the jaguar was a good one. But I decided it wouldn't work, because frankly, I didn't want the battle (the only battle of this chapter, as it turned out!) to end too quickly. It was kind of a test-run, and I wanted to see how the party acted in terms of strategy, tactics, teamwork, and so forth. So I gave you a little XP for coming up with the plan anyway, even though I didn't let it work.
I also gave you a little experience for your encounter with Hubert. Areilon is really close to leveling now.
Oh, and I didn't grant either your (or Xel) XP for treasure acquisition, since you guys haven't actually sold the carving yet.
Nuke
Your character didn't really interact with anyone, save for the absolute bare minimum necessary. I realize that's kind of how your character is, but I hope you're having fun and don't feel left out of things.
Xelphyn
When the game first started, and for several pages everyone just kind of sat around looking at each other, but not interacting or actually doing anything, I started to worry! But luckily, Xel managed to take initiative by having Dahn listen in on the farmer's and wardens' conversation, which led to him finding a job, which led to the group getting together. So I gave him a big XP reward for that. Good job!
One final thing of note, to the whole group: It's pretty common in my games that a player will list an alignment for their character, but then end up playing a completely different one. So I allow anyone to change their given alignment at least once early on, if that happens. If you've decided to take your character in a different direction than you originally intended, let me know, and I'll make the adjustment accordingly.
And I'm still interested in any feedback that I can get!
Now, to start working on chapter two.

Arei is flitting between NG and CG right now!
And I like the summary, good idea.
One thought, the group still dont know each other, we have to work on that

Yes, there has been a little bonding so far. Areilon and Dahn seem to get along well, for instance. But it would be great to see some additional party dynamics forming in the next adventure.
