Yeah, that happens when you're unemployed. Lousy economy.

But you, my players, get to benefit from my infinite free time!

Back to Babushka...

I think I'll take ettercaps as her species ennemy. Abominations would be good, but considering all the fights we did without the +4 attack bonus, that doesn't make much sense anymore.

As for learning healing, I thought I'd "give back" the unused cooking NWP. I'd like to keep the WP slot, I have an idea of what to do with it, but want to role-play it. So I'd have two slots available after leveling. My idea is that Babushka attempts to learn healing from Locky, but as she's a slow learner, this doesn't go smoothly and, if Jen consents, Babushka will work as Locky's "apprentice" until she levels again.

Re: Species Enemy

Okay, I added ettercaps as her species enemy. Because that's a very specific choice, I'm including all giant spiders in that category, too.

Re: Weapon Proficiencies

Okay, going to grow Babushka organically, eh? I do that myself quite a bit (when I have the opportunity to be a player, that is).

Re: Nonweapon Proficiencies

I removed Cooking, so you currently have two empty NWP slots. Babushka will earn her next one at level 6.

Yep. Playing, for me, is creating a credible story. And while I hope for a deus ex machina to save Jerrard if necessary (if need be, Babushka will jump over a burning tree again, sure), I don't like things to drop out of nowhere.

I just see Jerrard dropping his sword and ending up part plant!

JadedDM wrote:I use the same rule, but it still doesn't add up, unless my math is wrong.

Jerrard started his career as a Fighter. At level 1, he would have started with 3 nonweapon proficiencies. His INT is 17, which gives him 6 bonus slots. So that's 9 total so far.

Then he reaches level 2 as a Fighter, switches to Mage, and starts over again at level 1. When he reaches level 3 as a mage, he gets his 10th slot.

So 10 slots total, not 12.

Jerrard's current proficiencies are (the number next to them is the number of slots they cost): Blind-Fighting (2), Cantrip (1), Cooking (1), Direction Sense (1), Fire Building (1), Gaming (1), Land-based Riding (1), Navigation (1), Plant Lore (1), Spellcraft (1), Swimming (1): So that equals 12.

Or am I missing something? Admittedly, math is not my best subject.
I have fixed them, got rid of things that don't fit his character as it has grown over the adventure, things he hasn't used.

Thus,
NWP: 9
Cantrip (1), Cooking (1), Direction Sense (1), Fire Building (1), Land-based Riding (1), Plant Lore (1), Spellcraft (1), Swimming (1): Read/Write (1)

Languages: 4
Common, Magius, Elven, Goblin

He was originally designed as a gambler, but he has grown to an intelligent, thoughtful, person. I lost Blindfighting, Navigation and gaming.

Okay, I've updated your character to account for these changes.

You just know the next rolls are going to go rather wrong, Jerrard is so close to death right now. Noble way to go never the less.

And you deleted Shadows too...

Alas.

(was very nice of him to let you know Jaded, he left 4 players in the lurch in Shadows)

Real life must always take priority, of course. It's not totally unexpected, however. He did try to quit once all ready. That's too bad about Shadows of the Dark, though. I was following it, and it seemed to have potential.

I'll assume full control of the character of Elvenoff, but it goes without saying he will be leaving the group (if he survives) after this adventure is over, much like Shay. (After all, he needs to get back to his own planet!)

Well, thank you! I figure it will make me seem a bit more respectable around here.

Funny, all this time you have been thinking you haven't been paying much attention, and you are one of the most diligent DM's around... Even when you first started, you were still responding quickly.

Its weird, you have inspired us all to raise our game recently.

Heh, heh, I guess DMing has always been serious business to me. Even when I'm half-assing it, I'm still putting a lot of work into it. You should see the stuff I come up with when I'm not just running modules, but actually homebrewing entire worlds. :D
