Round 1
As if Hasted Woody pivots and Firebolts a clump of rats that approach from the left, scampering across the top of the filament barrier. [#R2, 7 fire]
Almost before the Firebolt burns out, another group of rats sprint from the northern darkness and swarm over Sue. [#R4, Dash]
Jim advances carefully through the difficult terrain and and squashes numerous rats crawling all over Sue. [#R4, 3 crush, 5 crush, 4 crush]
The left-hand group, still steaming from a Firebolt, close the distance to swarm over Jim. [#R2, Dash]

After a pause, barely time to breath out, yet another group of rats sprint from the northern darkness to threaten Sue's flank. [#3, Dash]
Sue's halberd swings into close quarters actions, meres fractions of an inch from the paladin's skin, slicing numerous rats swarming over his armour. [#R4, 3 slash, 5 slash]
The first clump of rats on the walkway take a circuitous route, an arc, across the fungal mass and end in front of Sue, gnashing their teeth, ready to eat! [#R1, Dash]

Is the noise coming from the rats?
Jease forgot about my double attack. Thought you said first action got advantage that is why I rolled double.

Sue is going to use Shield of Faith to bolster his armour.(Bonus)

"Well this is super pleasant."

Sue will continue trying to beat the swarm around him back with his Glaive.

What are we seeing here. Small groups of rats or large rats?

Woody will cast flaming sphere at the 5 foot square in front of Sue. That should hit all the rats in front of Sue.
Damage: [1d6] = 6[1d6] = 1 = 7 fire damage save for half.

Groups of normal sized, albeit aggressive, rats. (5e refers to these as "a Swarm".)

Round 2
Woody, the potential budding pyromage, waves his arms around a bit and a five feet wide ball of fire appears behind the rat swarm in front of Sue and then rolls into the swarm, ending directly in front of Sue. [#R1, 3 fire]
The group of rats [#R4] climbing over Sue gnaw at the elbow and wrist joints in his armour inflicting numerous tiny bites [Sue, AC20, 5 pierce] before the Flaming Sphere scorches the swarm to oblivion. [#R4, 7 fire]
Rat Swarm.png
Rat Swarm.png (92.57 KiB) Viewed 10550 times
Jim turns his attention to the rats climbing over him and with precise strikes of mace and fist kills many of them. [#R2, 5 crush, 3 crush, 3 crush] The remainder of the group, now perhaps one quarter of its original size, bite back. [Jim, AC19, 2 pierce]

The flanking rats surge up, swarming over Sue’s chest, failing to penetrate the plate armour but are fried by the Flaming Sphere. [#R3, 7 fire] Sue retaliates with more close quarters halberd work, slicing the swarm ever smaller. [#R3, 7 slash, 4 slash] The flaming sphere scorches Sue. [7 fire dam, DC15 DEX save for ½. Also, Concentration Saving throw, DC10, to maintain Shield of Faith.]

The final clump of rats [#R1] gnaw fruitlessly at Sue’s ankles as they squeeze past him, through Jim’s legs, to swarm all over Woody. They’re closely followed by a flight of tiny gliding reptiles [#S1 to #S6] that swoop around the Flaming Sphere, avoiding its heat, to focus their predations towards Jim and Woody.
Stirge.png
Stirge.png (111.6 KiB) Viewed 10550 times
One spikes Jim in the side of the neck [#S1: Jim crit!, 10 pierce] and the other pair [#S2, #S3] suck numerous tiny rats dry. [#R2, 3 pierce, 3 pierce] No longer are rats swarming on Jim. The remaining three stirges [#S4 to #S6, Dash] almost hover around Woody as if about to thrust with their wickedly pointed beaks.

So if Sue knew he would get burned, by staying in the fire, he would not. I'm pretty sure he would not stand in a fire intentionally. And next time Woody needs to ram the enemy so they don't get another chance before they get hit.... lol
Here is a dex save anyway, if for some reason he cannot move.
Dex Save: [1d20] = 11
Con Save: [1d20+2] = 4+2 = 6 - Rat damage Concentration broken....

Reaction Attack: [1d20+7] = 18+7 = 25 [1d10+4] = 5+4 = 9

So Sue ends up with either 5 or 12 damage.
===============================================
Round 3

"Can you deal with that Woody?"

Sue will try to finish off the rats swarming him, then move to help with Jim's Stirges while checking on Woody.

Glaive Attack: [1d20+7] = 8+7 = 15 [1d20+7] = 5+7 = 12 [1d10+4] = 5+4 = 9 [1d10+4] = 10+4 = 14

Woody had no intention of burning Sue. The sphere was supposed to be in front of him so he won't get burned.

Round 3 : Woody cast burning hands at S5 and S6, I think it can also hit the swarm R1. damage [3d6] = 10 DC 15 dex save for half. This starts at the fingers.

As a bonus action Woody moves the flaming sphere to ram S4 damage: [2d6] = 11 dex save for half DC 15.

I don't quite see how the Sphere can reach S4. The party are on a 2.5' ledge and the Sphere does not have a Fly Speed. If it simply rolls along the ledge then it will hit (Sue + R3) and stop. Jumping (up to 5' height ) will ram Sue in the head and shoulders (+ dam R3). More than happy if you can find a way to ram the Sphere into S4, but how exactly?

What happens if Woody move the sphere North 5 feet and then East 25 feet. Will that hit Sue? Will the ball end up in the liquid. If that is possible without hitting Sue and the ball remaining above the liquid that is what he will do. It will not reach S4 but can be used next round.

If that can't happen Woody is use the ball to burn the fungus wall that Sue is cutting but not in the area Sue is in. He does not want to burn Sue. Let me know what is possible.

To Hit: [1d20+8] = 7+8 = 15 , Mace Damage: [1d6+5] = 3+5 = 8
To Hit: [1d20+8] = 2+8 = 10 , Mace Damage: [1d6+5] = 1+5 = 6
To Hit: [1d20+8] = 18+8 = 26 , Unarmed Damage: [1d6+5] = 6+5 = 11
To Hit: [1d20+8] = 15+8 = 23 , Unarmed Damage: [1d6+5] = 4+5 = 9

Taking the stab to the neck, Jim focuses his energy and sets about himself attacking the three stirges in his vicinity. He will use a ki point to activate flurry of blows and will attack S1, then S2, then S3 as they die.

Woody will use the bonus action to use the ball of fire to burn the fungus making sure he does burn Sue moving the ball back if required. He will also make sure the ball does not go into the fluid.
