The elf dismounts and leads off into the trees towards the old camp. Out of nowhere an acorn strikes him in the chest and an elven hand appears to wave him over to a diffedent spot. Indendien and Dellinanth crouch in a blind nearby, the male elf raising a hand in greeting while Indendien speaks softly. You already make more sound than a blind bear, she teases, and now you bring an animal bred and raised not to follow its instincts with you? she asks. But what of your hunt, have you caught any useful information?

Nocturno slightly blushes. Then looks at the mule. "It was a necessity. A Beetle took a bit too big of a bite out of me yesterday."

Indendien looks at him askance. A beetle... how large?

Jordek excitedly starts pacing out the size of the beetle. Keeping his voice low as he waves his arms about furiously while describing a behemoth of a beetle that battled the elf.
While flitting about in his descriptions, he gives a sly wink to Nocturno when his back is to the others.

The wild elf's eyeebrows raise at the theatrics. Strange, most beetles that size stick close to the Wildwood, not so far south to my knowledge. You are lucky to have survived such a thing! But what of the dark elf, was he not with you? And were you able to learn anything that will help us with the Basilisk?

At mention of the dark elf, Jordek's bottom jaw drops open in slack jawed amazement. With a smack of his open palm to his own forehead he bursts out "The tree! He was to meet up with us on our return and mark the tree if he had arrived. I cannot believe I forgot the tree! We have to go back and check!" Whirling in place he faces Nocturno "The beetle must have cast a forgetfulness spell upon us! We truly are lucky to have survived that encounter! Come my friend, to the tree and the dark one!" He gives a series of short sharp tugs on Nocturno to try to get him moving. With a snap of his his fingers he whirls in place again to face the wild elf "Right the Basilisk." After a pause along with a dour mood shift he continues "Um... helping us? Not so much no." Perking up again he plows on "On the bright side if we can defeat it without it turning itself to stone there seems to be quite the market for its bits and pieces."

"Perhaps." States a voice appearing from what appears to be nowhere. "I could find this tree." Katten appears, offering a toothy grin, the Wolf behind her appearing somewhat larger as it sniffs the pair with interest.

Nocturno weary with the travel, and the near death experience.
"Aye the dark one... yes, you are probably in much better shape than I to travel some more."
He will describe the tree, and/or location. Likely with Jordek's help.

Just as the others are discussing him, Linar approaches along the path nearby

Linar looks around and then raises a hand in silent greeting. Practising his Common he asks after approaching, "How arse you, this today?"

Dellinanth gives a signal, letting the Drow find them once he is close. To the clumsy common language he nods. Fine, though Wargs have been patrolling the path nearby. We were not spotted, but their senses are sharp so we must all be wary. Your trip, was it fruitful?

Nocturno smiles. What a trip he thinks, something he was clearly not used to doing.
"It seems we are all back." Keeping with the common.
"The alchemist in Bordertown seemed very interested if we can harvest the creatures parts."
He will then go to brush the mule even just with his fingers, every beast, even those of burden require the respect they have earned, then set it to forage.

Use for the parts? I suppose the meat may be like other lizards if it is not tainted in some way. What parts did they want? Indendien says.
Dellinanth hefts his spear, We shall be testing the toughness of its hide, soon enough. Though it may be best to wait for morning. The Wargs and goblin patrols have been more frequent at night. Perhaps best not to risk contending with both at the same time.
