Re: Act 2 Scene 3: “To 'Where the Old Bones Lie'” (Game Thre
Something odd about the sound of Pyros' grapple on the statue stands out to Jerry... it was almost as if the statue were not made of solid adobe, but had a hollow core...
Re: Act 2 Scene 3: “To 'Where the Old Bones Lie'” (Game Thre
Jerry returns the 'Wait' rope-signal and then feels her way, slowly and surely, to Pyros.
On finding the little fellow she gently reassures with pressure on his shoulder and then slides her hand to under his arms, being careful not to tickle, to lift him up to look for an entrance or door in the top or back or whatever upper reaches of the raven.
If she judges that she could do so without the skeletons hearing, en route Jerry very quietly whispers directly into Pyros's ear, "Raven hollow. Find door."

[will Pyros investigate?]
Re: Act 2 Scene 3: “To 'Where the Old Bones Lie'” (Game Thre
Indeed he will. He will begin by knocking on the base and working his way around/up.

[climb check pls, and will he re-attempt the grapple?]
Pyros knock's gently around the base and surmises that it is indeed hollow! Searching the perimeter of it as high as he can from the platform level reveals no possible entrances...

Yep, grapple first then climb. He will yank on it good to make sure it is sturdy.
Dex Check(19): [1d20] = 16
For throwing
Wall Climbin': [1d100] = 99
Something about this thing that is Pyros some how.

Pyros casts the grapple neatly up to hook the statue where outstretched wing meets body. Tugging to secure the line, he prepares to ascend by planting his feet squarely on the smooth statue. A few feet up his booted foot slips on the hard-baked, wind-worn clay; sending him smacking into the side of it and sliding back down the rope with a ziiiip-Thump! The Kender's hands throb slightly, stinging from the burn of the rope.
Below, the two skeletons closest to the adventurers turn to regard the apparently empty space above.

Jerry stays as still as she can to make no noise.
Re: Act 2 Scene 3: “To 'Where the Old Bones Lie'” (Game Thre
Pyros freezes and gulps. If anyone could see his face, it would be quite comedic, not fear, but serious apprehension with a small amount of humour.

Down below, the rest of the group sees two skeletons on the penultimate level look up towards the massive statue. Those with sharper eyes also see a rope dangling from the giant raven.
Elsa begins spnning her sling at a moderate pace, in anticipation. The pretty cleric stares with focus at the undead. Merrick begins fumbling in his pouch for components, and Adrestia shifts her Ranseur as if she meant to charge the structure at the next hint of movement. Adran nocks an arrow and half-draws, keeping the point aimed at the ground.
The skeletons continue to regard the statue, a unmoving now as before...

Whispering:
"I know the rope is secure, but I am not able to get a purchase on this statue."

Mira keeps a magic missile ready on her lips, hoping she had judged the range correctly.
"I don't like this." She Whispers to the Cleric in alarm

Jerry counts mentally to ten and then feels her way, slowly and surely along the rope to try and locate Pyros. On finding him she urges him upwards, silently offering her bended knee, back and then shoulder for him to climb or stand on, all the while holding onto the rope so that she doesn't fall.
Hopefully with this help he can locate an entrance or door in the top or back or whatever upper reaches of the raven. Or possibly a button or lever to operate such an entrance.

Pyros will use the boost from Jerry to work at various heights.

[lol, not sure my rolls will be any better for you
]
Working together with the invisible Jerry, Pyros manages to make his way up the rope; accidentally stepping on the cleric’s head only once. As he ascends, he checks the smooth surface of the statue. The warm, baked, black clay heating in the sun a sharp contrast to the cool wind at his back. After searching thoroughly, he finds no sign of an entrance, though it is clear from his talented inspection that the structure itself is hollow…
Several tense moments pass below, before the skeletons turn their attention back to the canyon rather than the statue above. A little tension goes out of most of the group, but Elsa shakes her head as well. Part of me would rather just be done with all of these… she grimaces at the undead. Whoever they used to be… they don’t deserve this.
