As he steps in: "While my sword arm is strong, I am a realist. if I hope to get an answer to this mystery in a timely manner, I may require outside help" Hoping the implication is heard that he can't ask other Watch members for help.
"Since you all seemed to be intrigued, and I do understand the power of any diety, with my brief incursion of the type. I may not look it, but Lathander has blessed me with some meager powers."

"The Morning Lord?" Alecia asks as she takes a seat on the bed, patting the space next to her she motions to Nix, offering the chair to Sue she nods in understanding. "So you arent the average Watchman? Interesting..." Musing that thought she tilts her head slightly.
"So, you had something to share?" She asks leaning on Nix.

Sue nods to the table. "May I?" Not really waiting for a confirmation he heads over to the table.
"I'm going to put out everything I have, I seem to be going out on an uncharacteristic limb here, but if I can manage to figure this out, I might accomplish something." He will start to neatly put things onto the table.

Nix takes a seat, putting an arm around Rina's shoulders as she leans into him but watching the guardsman.
[what sort of things is he putting on the table?]

"So... Forgive my bluntness but it looks to me like you are trusting us because you can't trust anyone else." Alecia suggests her fingers rubbing the muscles on Nix's shoulder.. "You want to solve this. Right?" She asks her eyes focusing on the items as he places them on the table.

"I appreciate the bluntness. Basically yes." Sue sighs. "I'm not even sure I could trust official channels in this case." This time an even bigger sigh. "Taffis was informing on the gangs, and it is believed that this caught wind. So having you folks from outside the Watch may be just what the doctor ordered."
He will place these items on the table, and will also fill the others in on what he discovered before he met them.
Letters from the Mage including the writ for the Adventure Group
Leather Harness and rope
wooden canary
a blue, almost transparent, silk cloak with fine silver chain stitched along the collar and shoulders.
a sheathed dagger
a red silk outfit, troos, shirt, cloak & mask.
a black cotton mask.
a small bundle of leather straps and wooden pegs.
minotaur ring
knowledge that the corpse had a Moon on it, and that they were expecting a Moon at this drop.
He was returning back with a tonic for his poor old ma.
It's just him that looks after his ma and her three starving babies.
Hunters Alley was fairly deserted last nigh sometime after ten bells**
A man was face down, back of his head well bashed in, but no blood. Didn't smell of the docks.
The Watch came round very soon after he saw the man.***
The Watch come round Hunter's Alley about 3 times per bell. (So the deceased had been on the deck less than 20 mins).
His body was still warm. (So he hadn't died ages before and just been dumped in the Alley).
Arry moved off before the Watch saw him.
Not usually any such 'appenings in the Hunters.
Hand Tattoo
Womens Gitch
Corpse Did not smell of Docks
Clean Boots

"He is informing on the Gangs? Not a wise move." Alieca shakes her head in amazement, "Anyone who lives in this City knows you do not upset the Gangs." Raising from the bed she moves to the table and runs her hand across the ring. "Is it possible that your people killed him because the Gangs knew he was informing?" She asks turning back to Nix, "He kept his money tight, he dropped a few coins to the children a way to apease his soul perhaps?"
"Our friend went to the docks a lot and the sewers but he wasnt there that day." She adds waiting on his response.

As Alicia & Nix are discussing things with Sue in the apartment, if you wish it's fine to take it that the pair of you stopped off for some 'fast food' on the way back to the apartment. (Each: fried egg on upturned mushroom, 2 hunks of bread and cheese, cheap pottery mug of weak wine, two pastry rolls of indeterminate but tasty meat.) If you choose to dine later instead then that's fine too.

Noting change in the Priestesses demeanor he will quick an eye. [More business less naive?]
"I've been assured it was not an official matter, but no one is immune to extra pay to do an errand. The children, probably his little birds, whispering in his ear.
Starting to feel a bit more comfortable.
"The note from the locker... mentioned a 'Moon. The boy I talked to said he had a 'Moon on him when he found the corpse. So it was not a simple mugging gone wrong either. Also the body was clearly dumped, possibly prepped for the area, clothes and boots clean, no blood, but his head was caved in but a strong force."
He will spread out and try to highlight the stick drawing map, and the invitation to the Purple Palace, that seems to mention the red costume.

"Of course they told you it wasnt an offical manner! They won't admit to having gotten someone like him killed!" She exclaims, her hands on the table. "We need to talk to the street rats, a few coins in the right place should get them talking." She moves back to the bed still down with her legs crossed.
"The Moon? Hmmm." She ponders that, looking back at Nix questioningly, "He was killed elsewhere, and it wasnt far away." She reasoned softly, "It has to have been from a nearby building. Sewer, is there a sewer entrance nearby?"
Seeing the map her eyes light up. "Whats that? Looks like a basic map? And an invitation?"

"Well I'm not so naive that I could rule it out 100%, but the 'Robe who set me on this case does truly believe it was not orchestrated from the inside, I could tell that much."
Picking up the costume: "I won't fit this, but maybe Mr Nix here will"
"He only had large coinage on him, I'm thinking it was for some kind of tax, or commission, but he obviously never made the meeting."

"Sewer map." Alecia comments far too quickly. "I err mean that's what it looks like,."

"So it really was an act before. Thank Lathander, I was starting to wonder if I should be bringing you in on this... No reason to be timid ."
Sue gets a look..
"I wonder." He will look out the shuttered window to see if there is an entrance to the sewer visible.

If the window is unshuttered it shows a rough brick wall opposite forming a narrow 'cut through' between the adjacent buildings.
There is no sewer entrance visible.
This would be consistent with the theory that the deceased was possibly on his way to a sewer entrance elsewhere.
