Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
Tulbas looks at Haaque disapprovingly... "Ahh... Are you sure you don't want to be in charge of the search at the library?" he murmur to himself. In a louder voice he says, "Well, even that your assertions would convince a college at some academy, giving such reason to the cult will immediately raise their suspicions that you are a spy of the Seekers, and thus endanger the three of us, so I think the best way is to consider your suggestion a good joke and stick to Kynaston's suggestion. Please, take this mission seriously as a woman's life is at stake here."
Tulbas looks back the Kynaston, "I guess many people join for this reason. I told Nora that I've heard of Darewind's miracles and came in the hope to find a true acting god in these harsh times. Anyway, lets say I met you at the park last evening, I heard you complain about your state and angry at the gods that left us to this poor faith, I told you and few other refugees that were around about the Master and the healing capabilities of Darewind and you two were convinced to join the cult. Agreed?"

"Excellent I'm glad we are on the same wavelength about telling Darewind, and now it's clear for all going undercover."
Gregeddin counts his fingers over the things Tulbas has said and, once satisfied, nods.
"That's good for things to research. I'll see if I can uncover any previous acts of healing, which might help us expose him in the future."

"Agreed," says Kynaston. "Well, guess everything's ready then. Here's hoping luck is on our side."

Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
"Good luck," Kendra says as she stands up. "I most likely won't get to see Darewind until tomorrow," she says.
Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
"Good idea." Tulbas says approvingly.Gregeddin wrote:I'll see if I can uncover any previous acts of healing, which might help us expose him in the future.
"OK, lets meet at sunset at the park to report our progress." Tulbas heads to the door making sure Kynaston and Haaque follow.
Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
"Lock up before you leave, yeah?" Kynaston calls back to Kendra and Gregeddin. "There's not much left to steal, but I'd rather not take the chance anyway."
Tulbas, Kynaston and Haahqae step outside into the icy rain. Of the three of them, only Tulbas had a cloak to protect him, although Haahqae's silly hat helped a little. Kynaston was the worst off, not even possessing boots, but his brigadine armor protected him a little.
Fortunately, the cult's headquarters was not far from the towering warrior's home. A pair of men in grey cloaks stand guard at the warehouse's entrance. "Ah, Brother Tulbas," says one, recognizing him from the previous day. "We've been expecting you. Are these your recruits?"

Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
"All the best" Gregeddin calls at the others
He makes himself ready to head outside, not that there was all that much he could do with what he was wearing.
"I'll catch you at sunset Kendra"
Once outside, Gregeddin hurries his way over to Raetmal's shop on herbalist street. The mage seemed like a trustworthy source of advice for some of the questions lurking in Gregeddin's mind.

Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
Kendra takes the time to lock up Kynaston's place, and heads back home.
Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
"Yes, they are." Tulbas says to the guards. Gesturing to his companions he says, "Kynaston and Haaque."
Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
Gregeddin (Erogundali Mageware Shop, 253 Herbalist Street)
Gregeddin walks through the rain with a quickened pace, questions burning in his mind.
When he arrives, he steps inside, the door hitting a small bell placed strategically at the upper corner of the doorframe. Gregeddin sees Raetmal, standing behind his counter. Another man stands before him, his back to the bard. He's wearing a heavy, wet cloak with the hood down. His hands are bandaged up. He and Raetmal seem to be having a discussion.
"I've told you before, I possess no such thing here. But I'll be sure to send word if I ever do," Raetmal insists.
The cloaked man seems ready to argue, but noticing Gregeddin enters, seems to reconsider. Nodding silently, he walks past Gregeddin and steps back outside, into the rain.
"Ah, it's you again," Raetmal says, looking to Gregeddin. "I trust your new sword is serving you well?"
Kendra Synclair (Synclair Residence, 2723 Crooked Road)
Kendra makes her way back home on Crooked Road, which isn't too far, as both she and Kynaston live in the slummy harbor district. The rain seems colder than before.
When she arrives she finds her brother and sister playing by a small fire in the fireplace under their father's watchful eye, while her mother sits at the table, going over some scrolls of paper. "Oh, Kendra!" she says, surprised. "I thought you'd be at work today."
Tulbas, Haahqae, and Kynaston (Abandoned Warehouse, Cult Lair)
The guards step aside. "Please enter then. Nora is greeting the new recruits in the main hall. The initiation will be later this afternoon."

Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
Noting the cloaked man, Gregeddin asks "I have yet to use the sword though I am very fond of it elegance. Is now a convenient time to talk? If you need to finish dealings with a customer I can leave discreetly and return shortly."

"I'll go back tomorrow, when I'm a little more fully healed," Kendra says as she joins her brother and sister near the fire. "Even then, I'm going to have to ask for a lighter duty until I'm in better health."

Re: CH. 3 - Mages, Mages Everywhere
Darga pulls himself to his feet, aching and sore from a cold night on the hard ground. And as soon as realizes that his pack is no longer tucked under him, he knows what has happened, but he opens it up to look anyway. Empty. Figures. Just 'cause ya make some friends, ya go all soft and start trustin' them that ya shouldn't. Mebbe I should go back ta Xak Tsaroth an' let these people kill and steal 'mongst themselves 'till they're all gone.
But despite his dark thoughts, Darga remembers the woman Daxia and knows that he can't just leave her to her death. Still, as he gathers up the dregs of what the robbers left to him, he keeps his eyes open for signs of those who robbed him. Anything--an abandoned piece of clothing, a trinket, perhaps--might help him find his assailants.
Darga turns upon hearing a voice behind him, his walking stick in hand. But the kender there is neither threatening nor familiar from the night before. Relaxing, he shrugs. "I'm okay." After a moment's consideration, he adds, "I got somewhere I got ta be. But have ya seen any of th' folk who were sharin' this camp with me last night, have ya?"

Gregeddin (Erogundali Mageware Shop, 253 Herbalist Street)
Raetmal shakes his head. "He'll be back, I'm sure, but probably not today. And he's not a customer, for that matter. Customers buy things. They've been nosing about lately. They say they're a group of monks of some obscure order. But there's something...off-putting about them." The elf scrunches up his nose. "In any case, he's gone now, so I'm free to speak. Is this about Tulbas and his mission?"
Kendra Synclair (Synclair Residence, 2723 Crooked Road)
"I take it that means you aren't getting paid for today then," Rangle surmises.
"Well, that's okay," Garnet says. "I spoke to Norris this morning, and everything's in order. We were going to use the money you brought us for food and clothing, and just live off it for as long as we could. But Norris agreed to help us take care of all of that. So...we're thinking of using that money to buy a house instead. Something nice, maybe in the merchant district. Can you imagine? A house with bedrooms and everything. Maybe even with a real kitchen!"
She continues, "Norris is paying for the whole ceremony, and he doesn't have any family in the city. So it'll just be us. Which means there really aren't any preparations to worry about. So we should be ready for the ceremony as soon as the day after tomorrow!"
Darga (Clover Park)
Darga searches the area for clues that might lead him back to the man and woman he shared a fire with last night. He finds a torn and dirty piece of red cloth (the man had been wearing a ragged red cloak), a lock of blond hair (likely the woman's), a wooden coin carved to closely resemble a copper one, and a small pendant.
The pendant was made of cheap pewter and resembled a crude butterfly. It looks as though it broke off its chain.
The kender tilts his head in thought at Darga's question. "The man and woman? I saw them leave earlier, when you were still sleeping. They were very quiet, so as to not wake you. Which was very considerate, I thought."

"Coming to your shop on more than one occasion and not buying anything is odd, I agree." Gregeddin remarks.
"In part, yes, I was hoping for some help with the cultists. And the other part is questions of more general advice."
Gregeddin continues, "Assuming that man wasn't a cultist, I was hoping you could point me towards some sources of information. I'm interested in Fisdantilus and where his power comes from, additionally, I thought it would be a good idea to find any other famous healers or healing illusions to enable us to prove his actions as fraudulent."
