Searching the ship

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

Making his way to the fountain bleary eyes adjusting to the sun he yells, "Sober up?! You've lost yer marbles yer cheeky bugger." As Gustas gather some water he continues, "Th only help anyone'll need round here is the boys to carry yer backside home once I drunk ya under the table this evening!"

"I'm pleased to meet you Oceanus, I wish the circumstances were better." Entering the room fully she checks the chain and its fixed while trying to focus on Kulop.

"Speaking slowly won't make it Better..." She comments. "I hadn't considered the parrot might know elven. Drake, that's your skill, talking random words.." She adds with a wink.
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

Kulop looks at Brax fumbling with the chains and immediately stands at her side looking at the locks, "Well, are you sure? My mom always used to speak to my dad that way, and it seemed to help... I guess.... Anyway, did we find any keys for the locks? I can try to pick them but you can look around here and the back room and when you find it shout. Maybe the parrot knows where it is. Maybe it's in it's cage." and with that he tries to pick the locks on the chain.

"I might be able to pull them off the wall.. One had to toughen up when even your siblings are trying to kill you." She says with a smile. "His name is Oceanus, he is one of the elves that live nearby."

Martin feigns indignation at Brax's words. "Ouch! I will have you know, Radiance, that I never throw words around randomly. I pick them very carefully indeed, for they are my livelihood.
"That being said, you needn't trouble yourself trying to pull the ring out of the wall. I expect there are keys here somewhere. And if not, surely the ship's carpenter has a prybar to remove the ring from the wall."

Martin turns to address the prisoner. "You are among friends, now. At the very least in the sense of 'the enemy of my enemy,' that is, but possibly quite more than that. But time will tell.
"The humans who locked you up in here are now in custody, and we have seized this vessel.
"So, tell me, friend: how did you wind up here?"
"No matter where you go, there you are."

"Yes that is pprobably the case. But do you want the task of looking through that pile of Refuse?" She asks with a frown, "This.. I'm not actually sure what he is, but this is Drake, and the speech impaired one is Gustas.." She says to Oceanus, while inspecting the chains.

"We will get you out, I'm not going to leave you here, Pelor touches us all, he gives us light.." She grins, "How did you end up here?"
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

"How I got here?" Oceanus repeats both Brax's and Martin's question. "For the same reason you are here, I guess. My tribe became suspicious of this ship, and I came to investigate. I was alone, and unlucky, I was caught and brought here. You are a group, and were lucky, so you could capture the ship."

"What?!?" asks Kulop not understanding the man language. "Oh... Elvish..." after Brax translation Kulop waves his hand dismissively, "Nahh... You are more lucky than you could ever imagine. If you were not caught you wouldn't meet us, and that's says something!" he lift his brows and looks around for confirmation.

"So, captured and confined. I would call that a crime, wouldn't you? So even if Lefty manages to avoid imprisonment on the smuggling, he can be charged with kidnapping. Or elf-napping. Or something. He'll be doing the rope jig in no time.
"K - why don't you see if you can help our friend here out of his bracelets."
"No matter where you go, there you are."

"Hmm... I could, but I think they want to stay where they are. And I now thinking it's even nice, add the the mood. And he can play with the chains..." Kulop says truly believing his failure with unlocking the chains was due to the shackles will and not his fault.

You could of course try to open the shackles by force, but perhaps there is a key someplace? There are still rooms on the ship you haven't searched. Even the chest in the bosun's room has not been checked.

"We had the help of the Saltmarsh guards." Brax grins, "But yes, it sounds like a crime, one that might get our one handed friend to talk." She turns away from the elf for a moment.

"Drake, Gustas, could you look for the key? Either in that chest or elsewhere? There is another door too.."

"Your home is nearby? When we have freed you we can make sure you get home.. If they will accept one such as my humble self..." She adds talking to Oceanus.

Gustas duly ferries the water back to the group, loudly clunking through the ship as he does so. "Aye aye water ere. Key! What kind of key?" Gustas exclaims a little too loudly than the small space required and grabs hold of the shackles to get a detailed look at the keyhole.
