Time to prepare

In the house:

There is no sign that the house has been visited after having been cleaned out. The only thing left in the shelves is a stack of objects the size of playing cards, but made of thin wood, and with holes near the corners that are somewhat frayed. The dust on the stairs lies undisturbed.

At the constabulary:

"Reller?" Geraldine echoes Brax's question. "He has been living in the vicinity for a long time. His is the rare case of an elf brought up by humans. Due to his long life, he has a lot of experience, so I think you could call him useful." Her tone is matter-of-fact, not revealing any like or dislike.

[Jenara]

"I think he will be useful, where might I find him?" She asks, "I want to pop by and see him.'

[Robbo]

Gunter inspects the small wooden 'cards'. Does it look like the holes were cut out for some purpose? ie: to be put on a string or rope or something?

[Breila]

At the constabulary:
Geraldine looks at Brax frankly. "I don't think I am free to tell you where he stays" she says. "I'm sure you will come across him time and again as long as you stay here."

Kim comes in and asks Geraldine for leave to show Brax the way to the house the group has been offered to stay in, and does so when she gets it.

In the house:
@ Gunter: the holes would be just the right size to accept stings. In fact, the frayed edges could have been gauged by strings or yarn.

(is there anything drawn or carved onto the faces of the wood?)

No, the wood is plain. The surface looks worn smooth.

"Of course." She nods, "Good day." With that she heads to the house.

(Was trying to keep Kafen in the game)

"Hmm...it looks like these were meant to be hung on something," Gunter says as he shows the cards to anyone else who is in the room. "What do you figure they're for?"

(wait, where is everyone? I think Searos is back at the inn)

(Poor Searos...)

"Another mystery looms before us." Martin says. "Or, another loom mystery's before us." He then pulls off his hat and selects a ribbon-like piece of fabric wrapped through the band - a bit of trim pulled from a lady's dress - and holds it up to to show everyone. "Unless I completely miss my guess, those are cards, or tablets, used for weaving, to make things like this trim here. You run strands of thread or yarn or cordage through them as the warp on a small loom, and turn them and twist them in different directions as you pass the weft through. How you turn the various cards determines which threads of the warp and weft show through, which in turn determines the pattern of the finished piece. The more holes you have in the card, the more fancy the patterns you can create.
"What are you looking at me like that for? I shouldn't know that? I have a sister. And a mother. And aunts. And this one uncle...
"Let's go upstairs."

(OOC@Muffin Man: when the group moved to the house, I included Searos in, giving you the choice. If you want him to be with the others, just play on. If you decide he'd prefer to stay with his drinks, that's fine too.

And Martin is right about what these cards are for.)

The stairs lead up to a small landing with a door each immediately to the right and left. To the right, a corridor runs parallel to the stairs with another doors and ends at a fourth door. The ceiling above the landing has a trap door, and a ladder is lying in the corridor, tied to the railing so it can't fall and block the corridor.

Standing outside, Brax looks at the house with interest, it was a place to stay..

"Hello." She calls out softly, "Anyone here?"

As The Boys are more interested in handycraft than in exploring Vee decides to go upstairs first. on the top of the Stairs she turns round and looks down to the rest of the group

"there are many doors to open- with wich do we start?"

(ooc: I think we can't hear Brax when she calls softly? I don't want to Ignore her )
