[ooc: 100 yards is too far for a cantrip. I usually put a 30' range on cantrips. Even the 1st level cantrip spell has a limit of 10 feet.]

Jerry tries another red flare Cantrip, just in case the group below hadn't seen the first one.

Jerry calls out the magical phrase again and fires off a second red flare in case the group didn’t see the first clearly enough. Merrick slings another bullet at the wolves, striking the large one hard! From what they can tell, both sides are severely wounded but the party seems to be holding their own. Not only are they all still standing, but they have downed or trapped half of the pack. Still the wolves fight on, though one backs limping away as another moves in to take its place.

[OOC: The rest of the party didn’t see Merrick’s roll, but it think it’s hilarious that both of the single class mages just crit on the same creature simultaneously (same initiative count in the round!), and did the same amount of damage :lol: I rolled the attacks on different days using different programs too, so I know it wasn’t a glitch.]
-------------------
Wolves on Loop R6 Jerry init, cantrip check [1d10] = 1, [1d20] = 15: Pass!

Merrick attacks WE3 with his sling Thac0 19: [1d20] = 20! Possible crit!
Crit conf [1d20] = 6, Crit Confirmed! for [1d6+1] = 3, [1d6+1] = 2: 5 damage

"They're dying down there. I'm going to try to help," says Jerry and tries to slip out of the window and climb/walk down the wall using the rope.

[40% (unskilled climber) +55% (rope and wall) => 95%
Under the current conditions your climb rate is 24 feet/round. It's only 14 feet down so you can still move up to 50 yds (about halfway to the melee) if you want. Since 14 feet is more than half your movement you won't be able to attack or cast this round but you can ready a weapon]

Jerry climbs down and then advanced towards the party, preparing a pinch of coloured sands as she does so.

The rope proves sturdy and the rough plaster of the wall gives good traction. Though she wasn't particularly skilled at climbing, Jerry made the descent easily enough. Once to the ground she hustles towards the group as another of Merrick's sling stones sails overhead, missing the mark. As she approaches the wolves begin to retreat

[Let's move you to the main thread! Read the last melee post there (R7) for whay she sees as she approaches.]
-------
[Jerry is about 50 yards away, slightly less than half a round of movement for her. The party speaks common so they'll understand her. She may also hear her native Faerun common depending on who speaks. There are no Kender on faerun, so Pyros will look like an elf-child to her.]

Is it clear to Jerry that the wolves are running away?
And can she move the remaining distance to the party and still cast a spell?
Or maybe a healing check? (Does healing take longer than a Cure spell?)

[Ooc:
-yes, they appear to be preparing to withdraw completely, they just haven't had time yet and the PCs may opt for some parting shots
-Yes. You can move up to half of your current movement and cast or act. For jerry her total movement without the pack is 12 or 120 yds/round
-healing/bandaging takes the same time as a cure spell, 1 round.

OK, so she could do healing (limited to ?? rounds after receiving the wound) and then switch to Cures.
Presumably the wolves are likely to be out of reach of a Colour Spray by the time she gets there..

Healing prof I allow up to 5 rnds after the wounds are taken if you're the first to apply bandages. It looks like Mira is tending Elsa first, and I can go ahead and let you know Elsa will return in-kind for Mira.

Chris1234 wrote:When they're alone outside her room Jerry opens the door and says to Merrick, "My Goddess teaches that I should seize the moment ere death finds me."
She smiles and kisses him on the lips. "If you spoke true earlier, follow me now," and goes into her room, leaving the door invitingly open.
Merrick stares openly at Jerry’s direct manner, Your goddess… teaches… His voice trails off and it takes him a moment to recover. His face blushes crimson and she can tell he is struggling with himself for how to respond. He opens and closes his mouth a few times as if to speak, but is clearly at a loss for what to say… or do...

"Oh for Mystra's sake, come in here, you silly man!" and plucks at his shirt to lead him in. Her smile softens the words.
"Now close the door." She turns off the lantern and adds, "Carefully, come over here and just hold me for a while."..

Merrick does as he is told like one in a daze or bewitched... he shuts the door and then the light; their feyborne vision adjusting soon to the dark. He moves gradually to her at her urgings and holds her gently in the relative dark; bated crimson breath and skins that glow like fire illuminating their forms in the night.

[OOC: The red in the infravision is just for flavor here]

{OOC: Is this a good point to draw a veil over the proceedings? Sufficient to say that in the morning they both appear satisfied and happy with each other, if not with the world in general?}
