"Nice hat. So that's what a Dagger Mage wears?" Mira giggles passing Marie the money for the clothes she pulls her white blouse on over the Bodice.

"Elsa I just realised I have Merricks coat at the room. I'm going to run a few things back to the room. And bring it to him." Patting her shoulder she collects her clothes.

"Marie, thank you. My friends here dont speak Harmonian, but Cross here would like a hat." Smiling she turns to Cross.. "Excuse me for a moment." With that she darts off if Elsa agrees.

(She'll use the chance to get changed back into her normal clothes and bring Merricks Coat)

Artanis, Cal, Pyros and Yasir: Edge of the Forest
Artanis asks the others to keep a sharp eye for danger as he finds and prepares several worthy saplings. Before long he has enough fishing poles for them all with a couple to spare. The day seems pleasant enough aside from the growing wind, but it has gradually begun to warm as the sun climbs inexorably towards its midday peak; at least two hours away.

A quick search finds several usable worms, grubs and crickets. Cal’s familiar, the large rat known as Mcwhiskers, joins in the search and unearths a colony of grubs in a rotting log. Cal finds a mole-hole and speaks to him in the language of burrowing animals, but the small mammal doesn’t seem interested in helping them raid potential snacks. Mr Mole gets a little grouchy about them raiding his larder, in fact.

Once the bait and poles are collected, the lines and hooks are affixed and the group is ready for a nice relaxing day of fishing.

Cross, Elsa and Mira: The Blue Bolt
Slipping a blouse over the barely concealing garment, Mira checks once again to make certain she doesn’t leave without paying. The bard voices her intentions to store her new clothes at the room and Elsa asks her to take back her own new dress once she pays for it. We’ll be fine, Elsa assures her. Thanks so much for your help!

Marie acknowledges Mira’s comment about the language and smiles, Of course! I will take good care of your friends. I look forward to seeing you perform this evening! Once the bard leaves Marie shows Cross some hats and capes. For fine wool the cape is 1 silver, or for satin 4 silver. The hat is satin and costs 1 silver.

Mira Makes her way back to the inn. As she passes through the common room she spots Guilliam behind the bar along with his wife. They are speaking softly to each other and simply enjoying each other’s company. Once to the room she quickly stows her new attire and finds Merrick’s coat cast upon the floor. A little heat warms her face as she recalls how it got there…

[OOC: Rivi, the picture below is for the hat and cape. She will be able to put any color lining you like into it, but it may take an hour or so. She can prepare the hat with a matching band as well. Let me know if you had a different style in mind.]

(Good luck with that Rivi)

Stripping off the new bodice she places it carefully with her gear and dresses once again in the black bodice and red skirt..

When she is changed she heads downstairs and approaches Guiliam and his wife.

"May I disturb you?" She asks politely, Merricks coat thrown over her arm. "I really appreciate the chance you have given me, its so great playing here and I honestly can't wait to play tonight. My friends and I would like to travel to Skald, just for a few days. I'd like to play the festival next week. So I was wondering.. First I'd like to play in Skald.. Would my music be accepted?" She stops hoping she'd get the idea.

"And second... My spot here.. I'd like to come back to it.. I hope you'd like me to as well...?" She pauses, unsure if this was protocol. "What if the apprentices had a short stint at night? The good ones of course. It would help them and it would help you too."

Artanis Auir

Artanis and the others assemble the poles, line, hooks and bait after finding a suitable spot to fish. The Ranger gives out instructions, finds a several nice rocks to hold his pole up and in place. He also finds a nice rock to form the base for his pillow (backpack). "You can try casting out in the same spot or move up and down the bank - just not too far. I prefer to stay in one spot, kick back and relax. I actually will play a little game - I count all of the different sounds I hear, whether it is people, the water, wind, trees creaking, animals or whatever. We can make it a contest. But mainly, just enjoy the day." The woodsman casts his line (with a grub on the hook) out, secures his pole with several rocks, lies down, props his head up on his backpack, pulls the hat down to shade his eyes, and closes his eyes. He is not sleeping, but listening. From time to time he'll open his eyes to check his pole. Time to relax. He chuckles to himself, wondering how long Pyros will actually be able to sit still.

Artanis, Cal, Pyros and Yasir: Down by the Riverside
The bank near the river is generally muddy and rocky, but Artanis finds a spot where the bank is undercut a little so that the grass goes right up to the edge. Rocks from nearby make a suitable brace and he settles down with the others for a relaxing day. The wind in the trees a few hundred yards away howls low and high, and the Ranger pays special attention to the sound to be sure it is nothing more. He catches the songs of birds and the swiftly flowing waters... some of the avians are familiar, but not all.

Cross and Elsa: The Blue Bolt
The shopkeep considers Cross' mute efforts and retrieves a bolt of violet fabric of the same type as the lining. Patting the cape ahe nods, presumably indicating that it can be done. I don't know a lot about sewing, Elsa tells him, But the cape at least will probably take a little while. We can come back later for it unless you want to hang around...

Mira: Wayfarer's Rest
The bard quickly changes back into her other clothes and returns downstairs to speak with Guilliam and Erris. Not at all, my dear, the inkeeper says with a smile. In fact, you saved me that night. My performer disappeared without a word, even left her things here... I wonder whatever happened to her... he muses. I am looking forward to hearing you tonight, Erris interjects. I have a regular musician for the weekends, to accommodate those who cannot make it here for the festival, but he only occasionally plays during the week.

Erris takes in her garb with a grin, Perhaps having the Red Gypsy perform would be good for business... I will use your performance tonight as an audition. I enjoy your music, but I will have to listen with an innkeeper's ear tonight, she says with a conspiratorial smile. Don't worry about us, if you'll be back by Saturday. But if you have someone in particular to recommend, we will consider them of course, Guilliam replies, shaking off his musings. This woll be your first time in Skald, won't it?

The day has moved at a fast paced blur for Yasir since reaching the smithy... as if one moment he had been there and now, now he was fishing and enjoying it.

After a half hour of mildly sitting around Yasir will become bored and attempt to wedge his pole into the ground and attach it to a nearby tree or brace it with rocks and leave the line in the water. He will move slowly away from the rivers edge just peering around and getting a feel for the forest, checking(paying attention to and observing) plants, bugs, noises and definitely playing with the mud.

Yasirs danger sense is up after his foolish encounter the other day and he plans on not being caught unawares again.

"Yes, i wonder, might we travel with you? My friends are quite new here, the language is new to them. Travelling with one who knows would be a great advantage." Thinking quickly she gives Guilliam a look, "Did she struggle with the language too? I wonder, did you keep her things? And what do you remember of her?" Her eyes sparkle with curiousity. "As for an audition my Lady, I will play my best, as I always attempt to."

"I was planning on meeting with the Guild to discuss some apprentices, I have a few in mind." With a wink she leans back in the chair.

After casting about 30 times in 20 minutes, and changing bait 6 times in that same time frame. Pyros will mimic the style that Artanis used to hold his pole in place.

He will then start to poke in and out of the long grass trying to startle any of the group members.

Then the questions will start.

He will start with Yasir, then Cal, then Artanis.

Random questions about where they are from, age, favourite colour, food, and pet.

After that is done, and he will typically be oblivious to the fact he just pestered the crap out of them, he will sit down with a big sigh and try his new puzzle.

Artanis, Cal, Pyros and Yasir: Down by the Riverside
Yasir props his fishing pole up and stands. The forest is still several hundred yards away, it would mean leaving the group entirely, so he wanders a bit from the group but not to the trees yet. Across the field, still quite some distance away, he sees the shepherds and their wooly sheep meandering about their daily routine. Here and there a well-trained dog keeps the sheep from scattering and tests the air for threats. The scene is idyllic, and quite at odds with the danger he well knows sometimes lurks beneath. The plants and insects nearby are somewhat alien to him, though they might resemble those found in the deeper, colder forests far north of Athkatla. All-in-all it was hard to remain tense when faced with such a peaceful, pastoral scene.

Back with the group, Cal finally begins to see the draw to the great outdoors. Having spent most of his life as a city-dweller, he found few occasions to use his secret language with the burrowing creatures. A cozy feeling flows to his mind from McWhiskers as the rat warms himself in the sun and sniffs about for something to munch.

Kender as he can be, Pyros tests and re-tests his technique, finally figuring the Ranger has the right of it and leaving his gear to work for itself. A volley of questions soon follows as he works to untangle the wrought-iron puzzle from John’s shop. This one is much more difficult than the last, and his first attempt gets him no closer to solving it than when he was first handed the thing.

Mira: Wayfarer’s Rest
Travel with me? Erris asks, considering it a moment. Of course, if you like. The way is not dangerous and it is only six miles or so, but company would be welcome. I usually start back on Monday right after breakfast. Mira’s next question takes Guilliam by surprise a bit, but he shakes his head. No… she was a local. Well, from Skald anyway. I always figured she simply went back, but I would have thought she’d have taken her things and left word. Her things may be hereabouts somewhere, just clothes, her pack and some simple things. Wherever she went she took her instrument with her.

Mira goes on about doing her best and her recommendation for apprentices, which sparks a question from Guilliam. It sounds like you have someone particular in mind. May I ask whom?

Cross and Elsa: Blue Bolt
Marie nods in acknowledgement and takes the indicated lining and the cloak to the back of the main room to work on it. Well… Elsa says, pondering the question. It’s more like being an instrument than casting spells. I pray for the power to help people every day and the gods bestow the ability in me. It’s really just like filling up a cup and I pour… I guess you could call it magic if you like, I pour the divine magic out. Then, in the morning, I pray and get refilled again. She shrugs. There is a ritual to it, of course, but mostly it’s just bestowed on me by the gods…

[ooc: It seems Cross speaks Halfling… I must have overlooked that initially. He is from Krynn, right? They don’t have haflings there, just Kender.]

"Well Airand for one, he was very kind to me." She replies, "Plus he is quite popular." Mira smiles and shifts in her chair. "And its just curiosity, I feel.. Its different here to home, good in so many ways, but.. Oh ignore me. But I'd like to see them, if I could."

"And I'd love to travel with you. It would be appreciated." Grinning she remembers the others at the Blue Bolt..

Artanis Auir

From time to time Artanis will check his line and change bait if necessary. Then he leans back and relaxes again and listens in between the barrage of questions. "You're catching the idea Cal. Sometimes your best day fishing means not catching a thing. Sometimes it's just to relax. Another time it may be just to think or reflect. Or write in a journal." He checks his line again and decides to use a cricket type bug for bait, stand and do some shore line fly fishing. "So Pyros, what was back home for you that you want to go back? There was nothing in the Spine of the World and Neverwinter for me - I figure I'll make the best of it and continue on with my life here."
