Tialis spots a chest sitting on the table behind her. Using the key, she opens it, revealing sacks of gold and silver. Opening up her satchel, she quickly begins stuffing the loot in. She drops a handful of coins on the ground as she does so.

Ouragana and Val both attack the same spider, but before the half-orc can find a good opening, Ouragana blasts it with a magic missile, the impact knocking it to pieces. Now only a single spider remains, and it is still stuck in Ouragana's grease puddle.

Areilon moves up to it, careful not to step in the grease herself, and tries to stab it in the glass eye while it's down. She misses, though, and her blade merely bounces off the iron hide. A moment later, the grease suddenly evaporates, the spell having ended.

Ouragana points the staff on Tialis and threatens her: "If you don't help us to fight against the spider NOW, the next bolt of magic will be directed against YOU!"

Tialis shrugs. "There isn't a bounty on the gnome's head, so a girl's gotta make a living somehow, right? I really only took him out to make the dwarves look bad, but that doesn't mean I'm doing it for free." Her brow furrows. "Strange, though. I thought there'd be more. Maybe he has a secret stash elsewhere?" She shrugs again. "This should be enough for now, anyhow."

At Ouragana's threat, she actually laughs. "Do you think I am afraid of you, human? Remember, I have been following the lot of you for awhile now. I've seen you fight. You have no real power; if that old gimp dwarf hadn't given you that wand, you'd be threatening to throw your boot at me right now. Besides, are you really dumb enough to waste what little power it has left on me while your friends fight against that last spider?"

Fuming with anger, Ouragana gathers the magical energy of a cantrip and throws something as close to a real magic missile as she can manage at Tialis.

"Leave her Oura!" Arei shouts, trying to deflect a blow, "She isnt worth the effort." The Elf says with a hint of sadness.

Using an illusionary cantrip, Ouragana sends a 'magic missile' right at Tialis. The elf braces herself and flinches, but when it hits her, nothing happens. Opening her eyes, she scowls, but then smiles. "I knew it was fake all along," she insists. Pulling out a small vial from her belt, she bites the cork and rips it off with her teeth, then spats it out. "You should really know better than to work with such inferior species, Areilon. In any case, I am sure we'll meet again someday. Ta-ta!" She then downs the liquid inside, and within moments, fades away from view like a ghost.

Meanwhile, the battle rages on between Val and Areilon against the last spider. This one is strangely dexterous, despite the fact it was slipping in grease for most of the battle. Neither can hit its eye or do any significant damage to its moving parts. Luckily, Areilon is able to avoid the spider's attack, as well.

Ouragana blasts the remaining spider with a missile, which knocks it back a bit and causes one of its legs to fall off.

The spider, undeterred, leaps at Areilon who at the same time strikes at its eye. However, neither can find the opening they are looking for, and consequently, both miss.

Finally, Val moves in with her trident, thrusting it right at the spider's eye and shattering it. The spider screeches, stumbles, then collapses in a heap, spurting oil from its broken eye.

Ouragana shudders. "Dreadful things" she says. Then she looks at Jocelyn and asks: "What do you think, should we carry her back to the inn or wake her mentor and bring him here to heal her?"

"Horrible..." Arei agrees, "I have a thought.. Tia said she expected more.." rubbing her wounds stems the blood flow by ripping off her shirt sleeves.

"Let's get her upstairs, check that other room and find the watch. We have to explain this... Somehow."
