The module is almost done in the sense that the exploration is nearly finished, yes. But the villains have retreated after their attack on the three mages left two of them dead (and frankly, I'm surprised they haven't come back yet. Another DM might have sent them in already). The surviving adversaries have about twice as many hit points as the party has now.

I guess my style doesn't suit everyone, little fast and loose with the rules..

And yep, mean't .18 hp was tired, drunk and depressed last night..

(OOC: please state what you are planning to do. Who wants to stay behind and secure the retreat, who wants to pass the secret door? Where is everybody when the door is opened?)

Melee characters up front, casters in back. If a large group of foes, Echo casts Sleep. Amon can Protect from Evil one melee character beforehand. If anyone has flasks of oil handy, we can light those and use them as grenades, too. How does that sound?

(Decided to move this to the OOC thread, so as to not clutter up the main thread with OOC chatter.)

EDIT: In addition, if Brax drinks her healing potion, she can melee, too. She does have magical chain mail, after all. If she gives those two vials of oil in her inventory to Kim, that gives her something to do, as Kim has no projectile weapons or spells remaining. The great thing about flaming oil is that even if you miss, you'll still do some damage.

Brax has some Oil, and replied as much, and thank you for the PM.

See this is the issue with anything like "Foresight" once you see what happens, you change the future slightly or possibly much more, causality and all that!

(ooc: Searos did not say there was oil mixed in the whiskey. In my games, unless a character tells the others what he finds out, they are supposed not to know it. Alcohol alone, especially diluted alcohol as whiskey is, is probably not sufficient to ignite wood when it burns.)

Ignorance, not metagaming. Amon doesn't know there's oil mixed in, but he also doesn't know that whiskey isn't very flammable. In his mind, the only reason to soak something in alcohol is to burn it.

(Actually, lots of people make that mistake. More than once I've had players in my own games try to start a fire using nothing but wine. Yes, wine. )

Is everyone ok with my stepping down as DM? I know its in the past now, but as you could probably tell with the way my posts changed, I slowly lost the urge.

I was not in a great place and I am slowly getting better, Breila has been amazing, and she is doing a great job in my view.

You mean...all you had to do was hold out for one more round, and we would have woken up? Then Echo could have unleashed her Sleep spell, which probably would have won the battle?



I'm going out on a limb here and guessing the smugglers are chaotic in alignment, if not chaotic evil, at least chaotic neutral. Which means their word is meaningless.

Best case scenario: They sell us into slavery or something.

Worst case scenario: After disarming us, they put us all to the sword anyway. Actually, if they're smart, they'll keep Echo and Amon alive. They can be used to blackmail the council into staying out of their affairs. But the rest of you? You're all outsiders, strangers, and nobody will ever miss you if you disappear...



I don't suppose anyone has any good ideas?
