The legionnaires take no action, beyond closing ranks and presenting a shield wall to the zombie woman, who, now that she can no longer retreat, begins clawing at their scuta. Although they have their swords drawn, none of them are trying to strike.

The man Galanis dragged away is bleeding badly from his face and shoulder, but is attempting to rise.

"Do you have high cleric in this place?" Galanis asks loud enough for all the present to hear.

"Who is your commander? and where is he?" Liri asks the legionnaries. If they do not answer, Liri will ask a villager. They should at least know the commander and would be able to tell them if he/she is among the victims.

"I hope I was never that bad." Angel shakes her head and curses the Legionaries under her breath. "Right, if they won't help us with this we'll do it ourselves.

The half elf approaches the Zombie woman and grabs her by the hair, severing her head with a brutal strike.

ThaCo 15 [1d20] = 19 DMG [1d8+3] = 6+3 = 9

"Your dead are going to rise.." With that she spins around and approaches the group.

"Ari, Glanis any dead you find... You know what to do. Liri with me." sword drawn she approaches the man, offering a hand.. "My condolences, your wife is at peace. Eldamus watches over her."

[OOC] If you're looking for a fire to burn corpses in, there is a pretty good one going to waste a few feet away from you. Just sayin' [/OOC]

The entire scene is chaotic. The injured man is screaming and struggling with Galanis and nobody has responded to Galanis' question. Although he is no healer, Galanis knows to cover and press an open wound, but there are more wounds on the man than he has hands to treat them, and the fact that the man is struggling doesn't help the situation.

The legionnaire nearest Liri, a big ugly man who despite his immaculate regulation kit looks like more like a merc than a legion regular, says: "He is nearby. Orders are not to kill the undead townsfolk, but contain them."

And then Angel strikes. It takes more than one blow for her to sever the zombie's head, and after the deed is done, Angel is left holding the severed head by its hair. The head continues to gnash its teeth, trying to bite anything nearby.

[OOC] @Jen - What is Angel going to do with the severed head? It would be good to resolve that before she speaks to the head's widower. [/OOC]

[Ooc: That's just what i was thinking when I said it ;) Chuck it in Angel, go for distance ]

Seeing the woman dealt with. Ari goes over to the injured man. Sorry, lad. It's better this way, she's at peace now. Here, let me help ye. We can talk if'n ye wist. Ari holds his holy symbol and mutters a quiet prayer, laying his other hand gently on the man's head.

Ignoring angel's orders, Liri stays with the legionnaire who talked to her. "Have you had precious encounters with undead?"

The legionnaire looks Liri up and down for a moment, sizing her up and deciding whether it would be acceptable to discuss this with her. After a moment, he sort of shrugs and says: "Three times in the past ten days. Although this is the most we've had at one time."

Galanis jaw slightly opens with Angel actions. 'Wow. Such a ferocity she has.' but he quickly recovers and continue with this line of thought, 'I bet she also cooks spicy and give you quiet a chase for sport activities.' his mind wonders after the woman.
Hearing the legionnaire he asks, "What do you do with the contained townsfolk zombies? Did it happen in the previous times as well?"

Liri gives Galanis an appreciative nod. This would have been her next question.

"Containment? What a stupid idea." Angel strides to the fire, head in hand and throws it into the flames.. She was fed up, first Egg, then these jumped up... They were all she hated about the legions.

"Where do you keep them?" She echoes Liri, "What fool had that plan?" Shaking her head her hands shaking she keeps her blade drawn, the elven Blade flashes as she walks. She had to bring Fraso, he would.. Well he might be able to get these people to understand.

The legionnaire says, quietly, to Liri: "Commander was concerned that killing risen townsfolk while their families watched could push them over the edge. Hearts and minds, you know?
"I say 'grab them by the scrotes and their hearts and minds will follow,' but we have our orders."

Another of the legionnaires nudges the big man's elbow. "Look alive. Commander's coming."

Tanulan ti Urad is still clad in his sky-blue tunic, but the garment is stained with blood and soot. He walks slowly, surveying the scene, calm and aloof, while tallying the damage in his head. The task is made considerably more difficult by his companion. The tall elf speaks in quiet, clipped tones, clearly furious but at the same time trying to be the voice of reason with shorter human, who is enraged, stomping about and shouting.

The man is clad in filthy robe which may at some point have been white. He may once have been a handsome man, but that is in the past. The entire left side of his face is in ruin, clearly the result of a blow that probably should have killed him. His left eye is gone, and the area beneath is sunken in from his eyebrow to his jaw, with no ridge of cheekbone. The flesh covering the depression beneath his empty eye socket is an uneven mass of scar tissue, and his nose is bent to the right.
As he shouts, bloodstained fluid runs from his eye socket and nose, which he wipes with a filthy rag.

“He will pay for this. I will make this town an abbatoir to get to him,” the man growls.

“This is not the time or place, Haro,” says Tanulan, quietly.

“It is always the time and place for this, for war is always and everywhere. We will take steps. We will take steps. He will surrender. We just have to find someone here he cares about. Or someone here will turn on him. It is a matter of time.”
"No matter where you go, there you are."

Galanis gives Tanulan a small head bow of recognition and waits for the conversation to develop. He would have asked about this war and what is going on, by years as Merc taught him to know his place. 'Let the grown ups discuss among themselves' they kept telling him.

Angel stands blade openly resting across her chest as she regards the Commander, this was obviously a deep rooted problem, another they had stumbled into while trying to do a job. "Liri, can you discuss this situation with them?" She whispers quietly, "I'm going to get Fraso.. He should be here."

Galanis leaves the husband in the caring hands of Ari and takes a position between Ari and Liri in case one of them will need his help. In the meantime he looks at the soldiers checking if anyone is in mood for a chat. "Quiet a battle, eh? You say it happens often? You must be frustrated and tired by it. Do you know who controls these zombies and why do they attack you?"
