Hi all.
As always I enjoy the roll playing both in the thread Tulbas involves and on the other threads of the plot.
I feel like Tulbas has "bad luck" following him. He almost was able to flee his attackers but failed.
He almost convinced them to let him go freely among them but "something" came up. ( *Angry looks in TristenC & Haahque directions* :) )
He has a charmed companion among the Belzorites but that didn't help him.
So it is a little bit frustrating. I'm thinking a lot how to get out of the mess even when not posting here.
But I guess sometimes you have no control over scenario and just need to have faith.

It's true some of the actions I had Tulbas done were irresponsible. Still I tried to have it justified in some way. Tulbas went alone at night for two reasons, he doesn't want to return to the house were Raetmal was murdered and the murderer who took everything from Tulbas, lives. Also at night all is quiet and he can "drown" in his thoughts.
When he went near the brothel it was since he believed there is more chance to discover who is responsible for the disappearances at night. It was spontaneous and obviously a mistake. Although he was cautious and hided in shadows when he could.

This chapter in the Belzorites hiding place was almost only role playing and mind games. It was fun even it didn't work in Tulbas favor.

Don't take that as judgement but three things surprised me. I thought Aurilia first choice to earn money would be as a healer. She doesn't have to expose her divine abilities since she also have the healing proficiency. She could heal people here and there, stay away from the spotlight and get more money than in the smithy. There is a risk that the church will hear rumors about it and then she will be a high priority target of the church.

The other one is Kendra choosing joining the Army and not the brothel management. True, joining the Army might help Sardon guys a little bit more in the short term (and even that is not sure as many times the soldiers don't know a lot about the leaders tactics) but in the long term the brothel would become a center of power, information and... ehhh rock'n'roll.

Lastly I thought that Raetmal would have known about the Qualinesti route to the city and could use it to escape.

In any case, there are interesting developments in the plot and even there is always the risk of rolling new character it is better that way.

Waiting to see our characters meet again :)

She actually brought up the idea before, volunteering to serve as a healer for the army. They turned her down, because they get free healing from the church.

One factor was time. The brothel will not open for another couple of weeks, and Kendra couldn't wait that long. Although, honestly, I'm glad she didn't. I only brought up the brothel as a sort of tease, I never meant for any PC to join it. When Kendra started to seriously consider it, I started to panic a bit, to be honest. Do I ever not want to roleplay out the horrors she would see and experience in such a place.

Nope. Qualinesti and Silvanesti practically hate each other. Plus, Raetmal was a dark elf, so the Qualinesti would have been doubly disgusted by him. There's no way they would have had anything to do with him.

Don't worry Tulbas, we're trying to save you.

Not that Haahqae is very competent at many things and he hasn't really accomplished anything in the last two chapters... but he's trying! That's what counts right?

Tulbas is already not mad (as angry) but mad (as insane) from the pains...

I'm currently working on updating the way Divine Allegiance works. I'm broadening the acts that can award points, to make it easier to earn said points.

Just wanted to let you know.

Oh, I was thinking of the check in the way that a healer would tend to him to speed recovery even though he doesn't get a full day of rest... I guess we will be fighting though...

Ah, well that doesn't require a check, but it does require the healer to look after the patient for several hours.

Alright, so a few things about Invisible Castle, since Jenara made a global announcement that is showing up in every forum, even my own.

First, IC goes down fairly often. Sometimes for a few days (it's only been 4 days so far), sometimes for a few weeks. It's inconvenient, but it always comes back up. It's not that big of a deal, really.

Second, when IC is down, it's easier if I just make the rolls myself. Given the choice, I'd really prefer you not use Unseen Servant. Those guys are elitist, cliquish jerks and don't deserve the extra traffic. If you've already gone through the trouble, I'll accept rolls from there, but I'd really prefer you just leave them to me until IC is back up.

I received a reply to my email to mgbevan today. He says he is extending his hiatus until the new year. So more than likely, he won't be attending this chapter at all, either. (I assume we'll probably be wrapping up the current chapter around December.)

So I'll continue to NPC his character until then, when I have to. (But I'll probably weasel out of it whenever I have the opportunity to.)

Also, off topic but, Happy Future Day, all!

This one would be my usual "do anything out of character needed to form the party" syndrome that I often have in D&D. The fact that I'm doing it on a character with so little wisdom what he says almost makes sense to him just helps it a long a little.

Yeah, it seems in-character for him. He hired Xyleena and Yvette without getting their names, skills or knowing anything about them at all, after all. You'd think he'd have learned his lesson after Raena and Burzan, but...again, wisdom score of 3.

Definitely seemed to match my perspective for the gnome :D.

Oh, it's totally in character for Haahqae. If anything, Arulia was out of character by foolishly approaching a heavily-armed group of strangers, and even more soagain by suggesting Kendra as someone else to recruit.

I hope I haven't stepped on your toes, HorizonsDream, by having Arulia give Haahqae Kendra's name!
